So on days I work out, I would consume 1700 plus the calories i burned, or just 1700 in order to lose weight?

My goal is to overall tone up but I want to lose a final 5 pounds so right now i'm focusing on that

Stats are:
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 130-135 it fluctuates
Goal: 125

I regularly consume 1600 on days I don't work out and between 1800-1900 on days that I do.

I do intense cardio 4x a week and strength training 3x a week.

you can't stay with someone that doesn't make you happy!

i don't think you should just get up and leave right away, try to fix things. if you find that he really isn't making you happy then maybe consider leaving him

the ONLY way you're going to avoid binging is if you eat more.. i starved myself for a year straight on 200 calories a day with exercise, but after that i started binging like crazy because my body NEEDED to eat or who knows what would've happened?? this binges were HUGE and so, so horrible to deal with physically and emotionally. The only thing you can do to avoid this is to seriously start eating more. That's what I did. I eat 800 calories now and i'm trying my best to work to 1200. Don't avoid food all together, it's the worst thing you can do. Eat healthy, and eat more.

I'm assuming that when your grandma says, "take after me... been slim" she can eat whatever she wants, and not gain a pound.

People like that don't understand one tenth of the things that people who struggle with food go through, and it was an ignorant thing for your grandma to say.

Try not getting worked up about what she said, but instead being happy about how hard you work, and know that if she took after you (metabolism wise), well, she'd probably be at lot heavier than 115.

Yes, you burn fat when you're excersizing (even if just beginning), but you're not literally losing pounds then and there. You might be getting rid of water weight, but that's about it.

This is probably the last thing you'll want to hear, but making change isn't going to be easy. You're going to have to start breaking your meals (also remember to keep them healthy) and for the first little while you're going to have to struggle with the feeling of wanting more but not taking more. Exercise could help out with this too

Another thing, if you don't drink too much water right now, start drinking at least 8 glasses a day or 4 water bottles worth. This will probably make you feel a LOT more full during breaks.
Health & Support Has anyone gotten professional help for BED? May 02 2007

You'll probably end up joining a group with professionalists that will be able to make a huge difference in your life simply by talking to you about it.

I know a bit about eating disorders and overcoming them, and I'm fairly sure it all results in a group. Overall no one can make you stop binging, there aren't any pills they can prescribe you, and they can't force you to choose healthier things while eating. It all depends on you in the end, but you'll have a group for support and to help change your mindset to want to do things other than binge.

I'm not sure if I'm 100% correct on this, though.

I plan to exercise for an hour tonight on that step thing that burns a lot of calories in a little amount of time.. I feel stupid for not knowing the name =( hah

Also i am consuming a bunch of water right now, about 12 glasses worth.

But no, I eat about 200-300 calories a day usually. so i did go a lot over my allowance but not 3500 thank god.

Thanks a bunch though, I feel a LOT better knowing it won't affect me too badly.

It sounds like you don't really need help, you just need to join a gym or some kind of fitness class. If you know about health already, use your knowledge and start working out and you should have absolutely no problem shedding that 50 pounds.

I know, it's so unfair how some people can eat whatever they want while other people are stuck making their lives revolve around what they eat and how many calories they need to burn.

Perhaps if you're not finding a difference in your weight you should lower you calorie intake or change a certain food you're eating that might be high in fat or whatever else.

I've been feeling this way a lot lately.
I find it helps to think of the foods you're craving for as something temporary. Eating unhealthily can be an addiction; look at yourself as recovering. When you see the food, you think how amazing it would taste and how satisfying it would be. Instead, try looking at the food as just a piece of scrap, just another object, a pound of weight. Suddenly the craving becomes disgust.

If you're bored with your exercise patterns, try new things. Join a dance class or yoga or aerobics. Anything that gives you variety. If you're bored with your eating habits, try mixing things up a little. You can snack once in a while but don't over do it.
http://www.hungry-girl.com/week/weeklydetails .php?isid=971 This might help.

Look at it as long term happiness vs that piece of scrap. When you go to try on jeans or put on a dress for a night out on the town, that one piece of pie isn't going to make you happy. The way you look will.

this post makes me want to grab life by the chip bag and EAT

haha.

It's very inspiring, and im really moved. Hearing this all from the perspective of someone who /really/ knows what anorexia is like, and who knows what it is like to obsess over foods makes it more comforting to read.

You should submit this story to a newspaper to websites to tyra banks, to everything you can think of. Everyone deserves to know they're beautiful.

it doesn't entirely make sense that not obsessing over calories would make someone lose weight? i find im not really losing any weight either and i hate it.

im too afraid to try it out for myself because if i gain weight i probably wont be able to handle myself

I'm a healthy eater but i try to limit myself to 800 calories a day, and i OBSESS over calories and fat, maybe thats an understatement. plus i work out for an hour a day but im trying to lose at least 6 or 7 pounds, is this going to completely mess up my adulthood weight?
