| I can't really answer your questions (because I'm working on figuring them out myself!) but you might want to check out :
* "Raw Food Detox Diet" by Natalia Rose--she talks about transitioning and has a quiz to help you figure out how best to transition depending on your current raw level * www.rawreform.com--the woman who runs this site lost LOTS of weight going raw and has some e-books that address her journey and transformation. Her story (and pictures) on the website are pretty inspirational * www.goneraw.com has a great online community where you can maybe ask these questions. I'd definitely go here if you want to ask a knowledgeable group of people! I have found all these sources VERY helpful. Hope these ideas/sites help you get the information you need! |

| Triathlon_lover has some great input. My husband and I use a running technique called Chi Running. You can find out more about it at chirunning.com. This technique calls for a midfoot strike, leaning from the ankles, proper cadence (85-90 with 90 being ideal and using a cadence of 91-92 for speedwork) and cutting back on unnecessary movements among other things. There are a lot of things to focus on when you first start learning but if you stick with it, it'll completely change your running and your attitude about running! We've been working at it for about 3 years and I've lost 30 lbs and completed both a half and a whole marathon with no injuries. Before we started using Chi Running, my husband I both had constant knee problems and fatigue issues but now, no pain or injuries. You don't have to know anything at all about Tai Chi (we don't) to do this technique. I think the Chi Running book has been the best selling fitness book on amazon.com for a long time. Hope this info can help! And, good luck running! | |||

| Hello all! My name is Dani and I'm 5'0" and 120 though I'm working toward 110. I'm a 34 year old female, married with no kids and live in TN. I went from 140 to 115 last year but have gained back around 5 lbs, a trend which I'd like to get under control. I'd like to lose 10 lbs by about April 1st. I hope that's realistic! I'm coming off of a 3-week binge :( With the holidays, it's been hard to get back on track. Seemed like every time I started to eat clean again, another dinner engagement came up or another family member dropped by bringing with him/her the temptation to eat out or have something decadent. Oh well....we've all been there, right? Anyway, tomorrow, I'm starting back with a slim fast shake and grapefruit for breakfast, shake and green beans and apple for lunch, rice and beans and spinach for dinner and a banana with cinnamon for dessert. I don't do real well with snacks so I usually avoid them. I usually go back on Slim fast shakes for only about 4 days after a binge just to try to get my mind disciplined again. My husband and I usually eat "off" some on Saturdays and all day on Sundays but I'm going to have to go easy on that for a long time now, I think! I plan to run 5-7 miles tomorrow to try to get some of this extra sodium out of my system! I really hope by posting I can hold myself more accountable and know there are people out there who maybe hold me accountable, too. Thanks, Kelly, for starting this thread. I really got a supportive and positive vibe here! Maybe we can all help each other out here and there! | |||
