19 bmi is NOT underweight.

under 18.5 is underweight.

once you start to eat the calories you need to stay at that wt. everything will start to tighen up and smooth out. adding a work out will add even more.

lean protiens are good for that.

im shorter so i have to weigh less than you to be the same bmi

i always just use that rough thing of 5 pounds per inch..

so say we were totally the same in body composition except for you being taller...

at 135 i wear a seven
you at 140 would wear a seven.

does that make sense?  what i meant before was what i look like at 135...if i was as tall as you it would look like 130. i just notice your body gives up the wt. easier at higher bmi's..i said that in such a backwards way...lol

heres a zig zag calculator:

basically its just mixing up your cals for fat loss. use your measure tape rather than your scale to see progress.

http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calc ulator.htm#

the zig zag option is at the bottom (little arrow by it)

woo hoos!

1- my new smaller cup bra came in the mail today & fits better than the d cup!
( i wanted this so badly for my back and the dcup stare factor)
plus it makes my torso look longer which makes you look thinner and my boobs dont get stuck under my arms anymore..lol which is great for summer as bra rash is a beast!

not comfy for all day..still dcup..blah

2- i FINALLY have my fiance stuck on counting cals. he needs this as he is medically obese and had sleep apnea. he feels better and looks better and his blood pressure has gone down and he says he naturally drinks less coffee. and he isnt snoring all the time keeping me awake and has lost over 5 pounds and is working out too! :)

3- my skinny size 7s that fit tight last week and lose this week. and my thighs lost that last little bit of top fat finally. it was such a small amout but bugged the crap out of me because it was almost perfect to what i wanted. now its gooooooooone :)

4- woke up to 135 on the new scale. (it added pounds)

the CC reccomendation tells them so.

which..i know myself can be extreme.

i eat 200-500 cals under my body maintence cals usually.

i only reccently have to drop to 1200 on certain days because i dont have the higher BMR from my past weights. kidna naturally zig zagging a bit here and there

normal dieting cal cuts are 500
extreme is 1000
rules are:
1200 minimum for females

and i dont know why they give men 1500 on here..
it should be 1600 - 1800 ( not being active, more if active)

and the cal count on here is way too low for teens as well.
the minimum on that should be:
1500-1800

just an inch shorter than you...135 now (would be about 130 on you)

those pounds were REALLY REALLY stubborn!

so i stopped doing the 1200 thing ( wasnt active for 1200)
i zigzagged and burnt mostly fat by doing that and occasional activity on my bike and some situps.

then i went to 2000 cals after i stopped gaining from upping my cals by zig zag methods. once the scale was stable with that (i notice one your weight stops fluxing up and down with water it seems to mean its relaxed again) i dropped my cals again. and the pounds starting coming off. it didnt happen fast..but it still happened.

before, i was so happy to see 129 before this loss on my old scale too..got a new scale and it added almost 10 lbs! egh. it can go either way so update your scale if its old.

my old scale loves me and says i am 125-128 . hee hee
my new digital scale is honest and tells me i am 135

ahhh i think this thread needs a cute story to lighten the mood:

WHEN LABS ATTACK:

we had a black lab that would break up fight in the house by getting in the middle of it and start barking at my parents.
if my brother and i got into wrestling fights the dog would take someones pant leg and drag them into the other room. LOL
he also pulled us off our bikes if we went too fast and would jump in the pool if we went underwater and dry to dive down to get us.

dogs can bring the peace too!

;)

you need 1600 cals just sitting around at that wt. (a little more because you are 16)

at your bmi you will have to eat more and workout.

so like..say you did a workout that burned 300 cals.

1600 - 500(normal diet cut) = 1100 + 100(for health/rules)= 1200+ 300(exercise cals) = 1500

and really since you are not an overweight teen you should not be dieting at all. you should be eating so you can grow. i have grown 4 inches since i was 16. (not that everyone grows..but it happens quite a bit it seems)

just do it the right way.

you will lose about 24 real pounds..and then theres the waterweight thing that could add another 10 to your loss.

thats only 15 pounds short of your goal.

lose too fast and you get all flabby and your skin looks like crap.

and anyway..if you are overeating now..that will change right away by a fast loss of about 5 pounds.

you can ALMOST do it and do it right..
just go with that and some working out.
you will love the results.
:)

" Your current Body Mass Index (BMI) is 21.1.

The "normal" BMI for an adult woman of your height is 18.5 to 24.9. This translates to a healthy weight range of 118 to 159 lbs."

i did my measurements and have 103 of lean muscle/organs/bone

i am loving that my size 7s are loose now this week..even at my "still heavy to me" 135. i used to be super thin when i was younger but i have grown since then so i dont know what to expect.
my opinion..based on this shrinking thing thats happening as i up my calories but stay the same weight...
i think i might get donkey face if i lost more than 10lbs (125) and maybe my veins would stick out too much. my shape has always been there. even when i was thin i didnt have a stick strait bodyshape. i am shooting for the 120-125 thing in hope of shrinking my chest down.(dcups look ok at 150 but really weird to me at 130- 135. and i am really sick of people staring at my chest. i HATE IT.) my body has gone through so much transition as i have lost my poundage.... i cant stick to a number. i just take it as it comes now. i just need to always stay under 145 for my weak knee. it seems to be around 145-150 that it starts to hurt with use. i also have a small frame so the lower weights look better.
(wrist just a little over 5 inches)

well the natural one will sag a little more than the other if its implants.

you should check out bathing suits that have foam shaped cups and full support. i think everyone looks better in those. plus it will hide the sagging more than just flimsy material.

the other option would be to have it lifted. but foam bathing suit tops will be cheaper and less risky. plus no headlights!

thats insane.

i would talk to the cops about your neighbor being of a child hating harassing nature.

if the want dead silence they can go live in the woods.

you have the legal right to have normal activity during the day between a certain time and ending at a certain time.
its usually 9am to 9pm.

take your kids to the park somewhere too once a week. it would be good for the both of you.

but that is total crap.
and i wouldnt go to thier door without a cop. they could be nuts for all you know.

OOH..i just thought of this...

explore old sciences in the past that people were in fear of.

like...did you know that they thought any woman that could herbally heal another was a witch and a tool of the devil?

herbal medicine is the devil..lol...thats too funny.
and what sick is the burned people for that.

i would look into the history of science to use it as an example of how fear can retard the growth of humanity.

be a smart*ss and say:

yes it is water weight. what that is called in glycogen. and once the glycogen is depletes from the body your body will start to lose actual fat. so it is the first step in the fat burning process and part of the loss. didnt you know that?

Weight Loss not excercising May 22 2007

a woman that weighs around 130-140 will have to exercise usually to lose.

i did my loss the same way you are doing without exercise.
no baggy skin because i lost slowly.
so if your goal is far from you current weight i would focus on calorie control and school. one you lose a bit more your energy will improve and it will be easier to workout.

i understand the student life..lol

make it something realistic instead of idealistic. otherwise you will not stick with it.

and school is more important right now.

you should just do simple things like walk to the store or use the stairs right now..things you can add to your day that fits in as is.

do you ever watch tv? if so..you could get an exercise bike or one of those foot pedals (they are VERY cheap) to do while watching tv...or you could foot pedal while reading assignments.

good luck!

i think it should be explored.

its not like we are perfect as we are..so why not learn and see what could be rather than cover your eyes and ears in fear of what might be. i really dont see the difference in doing it to a person or a rat. they are both living things...and i never met a rat i didnt like..but i met plenty of humans that i am repulsed by.

imagine being able to GM out a pedofreak gene... or the gene that makes a body prone to child cancers.

i think it would be worth it.

not everyone holds onto it either. after i was born my mother got a touch of the hyper thyroid and lost all the baby weight and a little extra. but with my brother she put on 100 pounds and that didnt come off very easily at all.

its really different for everyone and every pregnancy.

your mom is probably 140 just because she didnt have the time to take care of herself and pay attention ,natural aging process, usually less activity as a person ages. and if she was underweight being that tiny...her body may of just finally said "NO MORE" and put her at 140. i really noticed that in my own mother. she was big boned and tried to get away with being under 120 and 5'8''. if you arent naturally thin, that will catch up with anyone eventually.

the most accurate is one of those water tanks you get in at the doctors.

that much weight loss creates a hormonal change in your body so its natural to shed some extras.

also the 1000-1200 cal diet - it hard to get everything perfect all the time with that so it could be malnorishment.

when you take your vitamins as a veggie person..have a little olive oil or other fat with it to help with absorbtion. running low on the nutrients to grow hair is very common in a vegan or veggie diet.
not that its a problem that you cant eat like that. you just have to be more nutrionally aware. meat is high calorie and high nutrient and has fats. its a reason why meat eaters have this problem less.

heres a link to nutrients needed for hair issues:

http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/Hair/h air_loss-nutrition.htm

"Hair loss occurs when the diet is inadequate in the B vitamins - especially B6, biotin, inositol and folic acid; and the minerals magnesium, sulfur and zinc. The B vitamins, especially B5 (pantothenic acid and B3 (niacin), are especially important for hair growth. Certain essential amino acids are found to control the thinning and thickening of hair in laboratory animals. For example, when rats were fed a diet deficient in magnesium, they lost their hair in bunches. The situation was even more serious with some other B-vitamins. When rats were fed a diet low in biotin or inositol, they became hairless! This nutrient-deficient condition was found to be reversible. When the rats were fed a diet that was rich in B vitamins, it resulted in the complete restoration of hair.

Heavy intake of vitamin supplements, in some cases, have resulted in stimulating hair growth. Men deficient in vitamin B6 often lose their hair. When they are deficient in folic acid, some men became completely bald! As in case of animals, when normal intake of theses vitamins were restored, the hair also returned in most instances.

Taking large doses of vitamin A (100,000 IU or more daily) for a long period of time, on the other hand, can trigger hair loss, but stopping the vitamin A will reverse the problem. As in case of deficiencies, often the hair grows back when the cause is corrected.

Essential fatty acids (flaxseed oil, primrose oil, and salmon oil are good sources) improves hair texture. Prevents dry, brittle hair.

Raw thymus glandular stimulates immune function and improves functioning capacity of glands.

Dosage: 500 mg daily.

Caution: Do not give this supplement to a child."

Weight Loss Too MUCH Water? May 21 2007

i would go to the doctors. excessive thirst and sweat isnt normal.

you can have other issues that cause that besides diabetes.

as for what amt of water is correct for you. there are calculators online you can use to enter your wt and activity level. thats really what determines how much water you have to drink.

try having a drink with some electrolytes in it (like gatorade) to kill your thirst. you may be thirst and sweating because your kidneys are strained from water overload, dieting and lack of electrolytes.

"Excessive thirst as a symptom is usually also indicated by two other factors: drinking excessive water, and excessive urination. Sometimes it's hard to hard to know what's happening, and people tend to deny these symptoms. For example, dehydration from excessive urination is what causes thirst in some diseases (e.g. diabetes). Any thirst symptom can indicate serious conditions, and requires prompt professional medical attention. (Source: WD Writers) "
