2beittybitty, we owe you big!  If we had 10 of you on this site, most CC members would reich their goal and/or that would lead to a lower number of drop offs (giving up)!  You are the best!!

Clairelaine, try the walk away your waistline DVD; for some reason it feels much easier on the knees.   I had some knees problems with "slim in six"  but don't have any problem with Leslie's DVDs maybe because I try to take it easy when it comes to sitting on your leggs when doing the side walks...

Thanks all for walking and for your motivation.  Yesterday I went to walmart and got the "5 mile walk" dvd for $9.95  and used it already this morning.  If you think the other DVDs are so easy for you try the 5 mile walk!!  the exercise is intense from start to the end (about 65 minutes).  With the 5 mile, I was already sweating from the 2nd mile only!!!  It felt so good and it is now my favorite. You really feel it working. I used to mix different moves from 2 different DVDs in order to have more challenging exercises but now with the 5 mile walk DVD I don't think I will need to do that anymore. With this same DVD you have different options (5 mile, 3 mile etc...). But if you are a begginer or have other health issues, please start with the "walk away the pounds" DVD, which is less intense, yet, still challenging.

Below is a link to the testimonies (finally found it!!).  Please note how people stress out the importance on watching calories intake; so, combining CC and the walking will get us somewhere.  Good luck to each one of us :-)

Where is everybody??  Did you give up already??

I did stick to the walking; I took yesterday (sunday) off though! This morning I did the 1 mile power walk and the 30 minutes walk both from WAP video.  No pound dropped yet, but my pants fit better.

Thanks ---and please comeback!!! We can help/motivate each other and drop the unwanted pounds ;-)

For those who wonder where they can get Leslie's walking DVDs, don't get them online where you will have to pay for S&H, Walmart and Target both have them; I got mine from there.  Walmart has better price!

Someone asked if we wlak on the treadmill then go outside for a walk...  NO, you play the DVD on your TV and walk with Leslie and her team making different walking moves.  Believe me, by the time you finish 3 miles you are sweating!!  I have 2 and want to buy the 5 miles walk. It saw at walmart for $9.95, i believe the entire workout is about 1hour but you can do 2 or 3 or 4... miles depending on how much time you have.

Cappy1979,  Thank you so much for your post! very motivating.  Starting Monday, I started doing 2 miles from Walk off your Waistline (WOW) and 1 power mile from walk away the pounds (WAP).  The WAP also has a walk including kickbox that I love. Sometime this week I did the power walk + the kickbox exercise for a total of about 50 minutes from the WAP. I really felt it the next day!!

How did you ladies do today?  Today I switched to 35 minutes of elliptical for a change ( I try to mix both wlaking DVD and elliptical).  My eating wasn't the best though :-( it was my b-day and I went to Indian Place restaurant... I did not mess up very bad but you know how everything there is full of fat...

Keep up the great work all. We can do it and we will; slowly but we will get there :-)

Thanks for the reply Niki.

I started w/ the walk away yr waistline about a month ago and got the walk away the pounds only a couple of days ago. I haven't seen a big drop in the weight (only 1lb) but I can definitely see the difference on my waistline as well as a some toning.  However, I have to admit that this is the only time I did not gain any weight at all during the holidays season. Being that said, I have hope that in addition to watching what I put in my mouth, I may see encouraging results if I keep it up.  I try to exercise at least 5 days a week mixing with doing the elliptical in some days of te week...  Leslie's DVD and elliptical are both easy on knees.

For those who are interested and have a long way to go, let's try to keep checking on how everyone is doing and see if we can pull it thru.

How about starting with committing for exercizing a number of days (5 days out of 7??) a week and posting our comments/progress on this post?

deejlb,

I am a female  ---LOL  :-)

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the scale moving downward over 3 lbs!!  I was soo busy with guests that stayed at my house for 6 days and my eating routine was completely shredded and I did not have time to eat plenty of calories... sometimes I was eating twice a day if I was lucky and couldn't find a minute to exercise besides long walks thru shopping.  That huge change did really shake my metabolism/body.  I am hoping to keep the weight down, at least no more than 175 lbs and keep going down from there.

You can boil them and eat them with a tasty spicy sauce... very yummy.

Try boiling the yellow ones; they are yummier boiled with less calories (than fried).   I boil mine with the skin on then take the skin off after they are done cooking.  Eat them (still hot) with some fish or preferably chicken made with red sauce (tomato sauce) if you like peanut butter add some in the sauce..... Sooooo good.  Let me know if you try it.

Enjoy :-)

Actually you can get the nutrition facts for most restarants (nearly all) from their websites.  I know apple bee's has theirs on their website and since their partnering with weight watchers they have good choices for people like us who watch what they put in their tummy...

If you need to use adipex or phentermine as a weight loss kick, just take 1/2 of 3.75mg in the morning.  That should be enough to help you throughout the day and will not affect your sleep.   I used to take it and whenever I took the whole pill I felt kinda weird (speedy...) and couldn't sleep at night (worse side effect for me) but taking only 1/2 pill in the morning worked great for me.

I don't need it anymore because with CC I am eating enough daily ca/foods. I needed it when I was living on around 800ca/day :-(   Spreading my 1200 > 1500ca over the entire day is now enough to keep my stomach/body happy.  I used to overeat during week-ends due to stress from school now that I am done (YES!! --TG) I am fine.  Also when you start seeing results (losing weight/inches) you feel like you don't want mess up your hard work just for food..... it keeps you motivated.

Only 0.2lb down but I would take it --I would rather lose a little than gaining some or not losing a thing at all....  Sorry team, my contribution is lousy even if the "want, need, & input" are all there.  I truly try as hard as I can and will never give up until I find my niche!!!

Finally back to where I was a little over a week ago. For the last 2 weeks I went back up to 180lbs and starting Saturday I went down and I am at 177.8 lbs today!! I am sooo thankful and happy that I am back in the 170s I want kiss 180s good by FOR GOOD!!

I basically increased exercise intensity/time and zig-zaged with an average of 1400ca/week.   I am hoping to keep going down... would you help me praying for my goal??

It looks like my body is strongly holding on around that weight range (within 6lbs) ?which is the weight I?ve been on most of my life ?very interesting!!!!

I started increasing my exercise intensity/time and hope for better results. However, I am happy and thankful to see my cloths becoming looser and looser; inches are definitely falling off but the scale??is so stubborn :-(

Dee, Thanks for the reply. So, would you advise to try 1200/day for a week and see what happens? I am trying the zig-zag thing this week, if I don't see a change by the next weight in, I am going try maybe a 1300 for a week and see what happens.... I guess I need to keep trying and see what works for me. However I am trully thankful for the inches decreasing noticeably, I just wish the scale would restart following the same path ;-)

Thanks again for being a great motivator for our team.

Welcome myndi :-)

Based on your question below:

"Right now, I?m looking at an average intake of 1278 calories a day. But according to the Tools Link on here for Calories Burned (with my sedentary lifestyle) I burn 1900 a day. Soo?does that mean I need to consume the 622-calorie difference in order to lose weight again??"

I am not that great with CC and I am sure you will get great responses from other members who are very good with CC concepts but as far as I know in order to lose you need calorie deficit between 500 > 1000. Based on your comment above, you shouldn't eat the 1900ca/day, instead you should eat 1400ca/day (on your sedentary days) in order to have a calorie deficit of 500. I hope this makes sense; don't get overwhelmed, you will get it little by little and you will surely have great ideas/support from other CC members.

Remember, water, water, and more water in addition to moving as much as you can (exercise). I haven't been losing much weight but since I joined CC a little over 2 months ago and started walking about 30 minutes per day in my break time, I am already down a size!! Like you I work in the office 8 hrs/5 days a week and I am 5'9" with 10 more lbs than you :-( When I reach 170lbs, I will be soooo happy bz as you said with our height we can hide it well enough as long as we don't show what's really cooking underneath our cloths -LOL!!

We can do this --and we will!!!

Hi team, you have the right to hate me :-( I went up another pound this week!! However, since my 14s were becoming very loose, this morning I tried on my size 12 pair of pants and they fit perfect!! That is something that will help me to keep on going no matter what the scale says.

I've been walking like crazy at least 5 days a week (I haven't tried running yet) and using my elliptical. I also lifted some weight last week in addition to using stepper for about 10 minutes...

My plan now is to increase my calorie up to 1600 on wednesdays and 1450 on Saturdays and keep them at 1320 the rest of the days of the week. That will give me an average of around 1400ca/week. What do you guys think? I need some advice; I would like to see the scale moving downward again.... Any input?? please!!
