| hm, those numbers come out pretty small according to that calculation. it says my bmr is 1440? that sounds a bit off, i never heard of people having such low bmr;s i'd say range of 1700 - 2200 for a bmr is normal, nah, i think this calculation is off a bit. i think you should lose at 1400 per day! good luck :) | |||

| i've beed thinking about the exact same thing just on my way home a few minutes ago! so i'm 5'5 (well almost 5'6) and 137lbs at this moment. and i don't feel comfortable at this weight. 120 is my ultimate goal but i'll be happy with 125. of course i keep hearing the same thing -- you don't have to lose weight, you don't have any wieght to lose bla bla bla. i used to believe that and felt sort of doomed. but i just realised three of my friends who used to look like me lost a noticeable amount of weight and look way better now, still healthy. conclusion: it can be done! and i want t o do it so i will do my best to achieve my goal. i can see you got plenty great replies above so i'll only add - maybe don't tell them anymore you want to lose weight..but remember to do it the healthy way :) and if you chose not to lose that is cool too :) | |||

| hhmmmm, hey, i just noticed something --
there are some people who have very similar stats to mine, and katyclark has identical BUT her bmi is 23 while mine 21.7!!??? so i wanted to explain that i use the metric system, so when i compute my bmi i enter my height and weight in cm (169) and kg (62), but to post my stats on here i convert it to ft and lbs, so that's where the discrepancy comes from...... (i think in metric it's more precise cause you can't enter that half of inch in the standard units ...?) just want to say i'm not cheating :) |

| i didn't read the whole article but i meant that they seem to be staying above the minimum levels of calorie intake, but if they exercise, that's a wonder they can keep going.... interesting thread, article and discussion that's for sure :) | |||

| i read the first 4 pages.if i payed enough attention: the author says he eats 1800 calories per day and the other guy has a dinner of 639 cals daily + other meals. so no further comments. | |||

| if you set your activity level to light than you don't track the cals burned during workouts. if you set it to sedentray than you do. basicly.... :) it's more precise to do it the second way -- with setting act level to sedentary. | |||

squash -- you inspired me to make a new commitment - bring my regular bike from my grandma's and ride whenevr i go somewhere :) i did that everyday when i was still in uni, but now, well, need to dress nicely and usualy commute by bus + it's raining straight for the second week here but, yep, i'm returning to my regular bike. and i'll get a stationary one in autumn layla -- as sid said, the stationary bikes are around 100 $ |

| by trail and error? i had really unbalanced diet untill i googled 1200 cal diet and copied the menus, they are usualy balanced very well so i learend from that, you can also go to a dietitian. i found i don't binge that often since i eat a balanced diet | |||
