| Weight Loss | Shrink my stomach??S --- And calories-free marshmallow???? | Mar 14 2008 21:50 (UTC) |

ok. I don't think your stomach won't really get gigantic because you're eating a larger volume, but you will be hungry more often if you eat more often. Your body gets on a schedule, and doesn't adjust easily. My advice is always eat healthy foods, with the occasional tiny indulgence. That way your body can be nice and comfy.
The fluff: that is the oddest thing I have heard today. Must be some mighty fine chemicals in that stuff. Made with which kind of sweetener, I wonder?

| just one or two mini candies a night. I just got my a1c back and Im in normal range again (yeah... 5.2) but that is just encouraging my candy issue. If I can stay at a normal blood sugar range and eat candy, then why not, right? bad reasoning, I know. I am hoping once there isn't any more around, I'll quit again. I get so sick when I eat that stuff, too. Oh well, Thanks for all the suggestions! | |||

| kraft makes a fat free mozzerella that is packaged already shredded. Melts beautiful on pizza. I like fat free feta. It tastes great on salads and stuff, although I don't think feta melts well, not sure. If you are willing to shred your self than cabot sells a 75% light cheddar block that is ok. It's more of a mild cheddar, though. It melts really well. Thats all I've got, hope it helps! good luck on your cheese-venture! | |||
| Foods | Red Robin Whiskey River BBQ Chicken Wrap, how many Cals? | Nov 02 2007 13:43 (UTC) |

| No clue, but the blue ribbon burger is.... mmmmmmmm. I always do a custom order with boca burger substitute, sauted onions instead of onion straws, wheat bun, and no mayo. MMMM I love blue cheese and I rarely get it. I also love the bonzai burger with either boca or chicken. MMMMMMM. ok. stop talking about burgers and fries, Im getting hungry. I was terrible on halloween. The area we were Trick or treating in with our kid has this local pub type restaurant that does half price burgers on wednesdays. So we got real beef burgers . best burgers ever!!!!! no clue how many calories. I made up for it yesterday with a nice light dinner. | |||

| When I was super unhealthy I would eat a can of spagetios as a SNACK... and don't forget the 1/4 gallon of SF ice cream in one sitting... Oh, and I really liked spicey chicken sandwiches and french fries from any fast food resturant. My mom makes this killer SF cheese cake, too... mmmm fatty good ness! That wouldn't have been too bad if I didn't eat such a huge chunk of it. I also really like blue cheese and wheat thins. I would eat 1/2 a wedge of roqfort in one sitting. Oh, and then there is my moms evil spaghetti sauce. She makes a huge crockpot full of ragu, pork shoulder, meatballs and hot italian sausage. It would probably kill a heart patient. We used to eat at her house alot, when we were poor. mmm, some of it (like the blue cheese) I miss a whole lot, but some of it was just plain silliness. Like the sugar free ice cream. If I want ice cream now, I get a tiny portion of the really good stuff at a local dairy farm. Maybe once a month. way less calories and much more of a treat. As a diabetic my old approach was to over eat SF products. Now I moderate portions of everything I eat, and have a sugary treat on the rare occasion. It is working better, seeing as my blood sugar levels are down and I have lost 48 pounds... | |||

| Health 42Environmental -7Animal welfare 0Total 35 (good) That is an odd test. It is hard to see the way they calculate it. I still don't fully understand it. What they have in parenthesis next to each category is confusing. When they say 7servings a week of whole grains, do they mean that that is a good amount, or that 7 servings counts as one? Like, I eat about 28 servings of whole grains a week. So, do I put 28, or 4? I was really confused by that. |

| Im pretty much at the same point as you, and I am having the same problems!!!! Im older, 30, but I have lost 46 and I have 18 to go. I am really not comfortable atracting attention, but luckily I have had my husband helping me build up my self esteem over the past 11 years, so, it's been easier accepting it. I think it is important to have a person in your life that you love and trust, that loves and trusts you back. Everyone is right, Physical apperance has little to do with self esteem. Love and acceptance of who you are, that is the most important aspect of self esteem. You can do that at any size, and degree of "hotness". And although I have been working on this since 18, I still want to hide in a sad sack dress when I see people looking at me, or complimenting me on my looks! ack! I wish I had more advice, sorry! tootles! Jenn |

| Weight Loss | Calorie intake vs calories burned????? | Aug 14 2007 01:23 (UTC) |

| How are you figuring out your output? What I do is put it on sedindary and that gives me the "sitting around" calories. Then when I do something "active" I log it in the activity log. I then look on the "account home" page where it adds everything up. It shows me usually buring somewhere between 1900 and 2300 cals a day. Then I try and keep my deficit between 500 and 750. That means on days that I burn 2300 I eat about 1550 and 1800. (2300-1800=500) and then, after 7 days, I loose 1 lb!!! ( 3500 calories = 1 lb, 7x500=3500) .
You probably already knew this, but I thought Id just make sure you understood the math behind it, so you can play with your numbers easier. Have fun! |

| Hi! I am actually trying to get preggo right now! Actually... "hey, hun!" jk. Anyhooo... we have been trying for years but due to being over weight/ pcos/ diabetes, it just wasn't happening. I lost forty pounds this summer and low and behold, I started ovulating once again! So we are trying this cycle. So pray for me / wish me luck, ok? Im 30, so now is actally a good time to get pregnant. We have one kiddo that we adopted 8.5 yrs ago, shes 12 now. (she was 4 when she came to us...) I have to stay healthy through a pregnancy, my problems could cause me to miscarry, or have a "giant" baby if Im not careful.
Good luck everyone, and congrats to all you all that are "expecting" |

| Weight Loss | hard time believing eating will work. | Aug 11 2007 01:03 (UTC) |

| According to the BMI, which is an indicator of what weight range is healthy for which height, 103 is TOO small for you. It puts you into the "underweight" catagory. The BMI also says that 113 would put you near the bottom of the "healthy" weight range. Try to stay about where you are weight wise, but maybe work on toning your muscles so you can be happy with how you look. TRY to eat at least 1200 calories, ok? The sight actually says for you to eat 1500 calories a day if you are excersicing and you want to loose weight. So just try to get a balance in your eating, and try to love yourself and your body. You are beautiful in your pic! | |||
| Weight Loss | Breaking the 'plus sized' threshold | Aug 10 2007 16:51 (UTC) |

| Every store is different. It is weird. I tried on jeans at bannana republic and I was in a 10. Most jeans I am in a 12, and some I am in a 14, even an 14w. I try to stear clear of juniors sizes, (11, 13, 15) because A) They are made for uncurvy teens. and B) they are almost all low rise, which looks bad on me. I just broke the plus size barrier on the bottom, but on top I bounce between 14/16. Depending on the store. Lane Bryant is now officially too big for me!! But other than that I am basically having to shop in two different departpents in every clothing store I go to. And I have to try every brand on, because I never know what size to get. I look pretty silly carrying 3 sizes of the same thing back to the dressing room with me, lol. Oh well, price we pay for loosing weight, right? | |||
| Weight Loss | Hungry period | Aug 09 2007 23:08 (UTC) |

| I wish I could reassure you that once you get to a certain weight you will no longer have these ravenous periods. But I can't. Cause I still have them and I am within 25 lbs of my goal. I start being ravenous a week before my period starts and go until about 3 or 4 days into my period. Everyone is different. My hunger pangs corispond with my period weight gain. That might be why you don't seem to be losing very fast at this last weigh in. I gain about 5 lbs about a week before my period, plateau for a week and a half, and then like the next day I loose it all plus some. It is really weird. So just hang in there, ok? I didn't have my period when I started this weight loss thing, too. I started getting it a month or 2 in, and it has been a roller coaster as my bod readjusts itself. I am hoping it will settle into some sort of routine soon... | |||

| Actually, I think that the doctor in the movie does run a bunch of blood tests before the guy starts the experiment and at intervals along the way.He actually had to stop the experiment early because his doctor was so concerned. I saw this a while back. I think it is an excellent example of how we need more moderation in our lives. Eating out for every meal is not good for your health! | |||
| Weight Loss | why am I back up to where I started? | Aug 08 2007 15:14 (UTC) |
3 |
| Ah, but the grace of God will give you the power you need to keep trying and never give up! So look at the positive side, screwing up is not the same as giving up. So, you gained some weight back. get up and start again. You are going to fall dow, because losing weight is a process and a journey. Eating right is a lifestyle. You have to make this work, because you need to eat healthier for the rest of your life, not just until you reach your goal. you can up your calories when you make it to your goal, but you need to make sure you continue to fuel your body with nutritious food. Don't give up. A tiny bit of junk food is not harmful, if you can stop at a tiny bit. But a lot of people can't stop themselves and they end up overeating. Just remember, food is fuel, not a friend and not a recreation. it is just there to give you energy. If it does not give you real energy, then it is not good food. | |||

| I had the same problem, being self abusive with food. You have to detatch your feelings from eating, because you cannot solve anything with food. I had a little over 60 to lose when I started and I have lost a little over half now. The biggest thing that helped me was finally letting go of my emotional attatchment to food. I wrote a list of rules for food that I called my manifesto, and it was the best thing I could do for myself, very freeing. Counting calories and having support from my hubby has definately helped, too. Walking helps, when it isn't too hot to go outside... now, I still slip up now and again, but I try not to beat myself up every time, and I refuse to let a mistake make me give up! reading your post just reminded me of how I was when I started. feel free to message me if you need emotional support, k? | |||

| Weight Loss | No Need to Diet AND Exercise! | Jul 12 2007 00:10 (UTC) |

| Yeah, I believe it. I only excersize so I can eat a little bit more. Without excersize, I need to stay around 1300 to loose, but if I burn like 200 or 300, then I get to have a couple extra snacks! woohoo! I mean, I also think excersize helps regulate diabetes type II and stuff, but other than that it is calories in vs. calories out. | |||

| Actually, aside from being a little on the obsesive side with numbers, they are not doing anything that goes against the tenents that are proposed on this website for weight loss... Now weight management, I have no clue, but being smaller, they do not require many calories, so 1800 to 1900 doesn't sound so bad. They are not going against the basic rules of dieting, accept that they are putting themselves way below the low end of BMI, but I have always seen BMI as too broad, it takes away from personal adaptation. If their doctors think that they are healthy, and their tests are ok, then what ever. I guess we'll see how their doing in a hundred years (if we're still around). I personally, don't like stressing as much as they do with the numbers. | |||

I stepped up my excersice and I am having a hard time eating enough make up calories, though! I dipped under 1200 yesterday because of it... grrr. So I am kinda struggling right now. I thought I was almost the same as last week, though, but then I saw that I really lost like 1.4! Yeah!!! | |||
