If you'll take me I'll join.  I'm at 187.5 (lowest in my life actually) and can't seem to get below that.  Been there since early Dec.  I gained a few pounds through the holidays but that came back off fast but halted when I got back to where I am now again.

It'll eventually start moving again at some point, but hanging in there until it does is the hard part.  :)  Wish me luck.

I'm at 187.5, where I've been for awhile.  I actually gained about 5lbs thru the holidays but it came back off easy enough but I can't seem to drop below where I'm at now.  Still working on it.

No weight loss this week.  I'm happy that I'm maintaining though because I've had to eat out alot.  Got family in the hospital and have spent more time at the hospital and in my car than anywhere this past week, not to mention the holiday treats that everyone seems to have.

Tonight I'm meeting friends to have Christmas dinner with them, tomorrow having the holiday party where we exchange gifts and their will be trays of food and snacks everywhere, and then Tuesday I'm cooking Christmas dinner for 4 households.  I'm not counting calories at all tomorrow or Tuesday.  Hopefully those 2 days won't do too much damage.

Once Jan. 1 rolls around I expect my weight loss to progress much better.  The holiday goodies will be long gone and life will be back to normal until next November.  ;)

30 in a couple weeks and single.  I'd dated a little (very little) several years ago, but nothing that ever turned serious.  After I went thru some personal issues in 2001 I turned into a homebody and rarely left the house.  Finally last year I decided to give real life a chance again and that's when I started working on losing weight as well as improving other areas of my life.  I went back to work and back to school.

Anyway, back in August I thought I was ready to try my hand at dating again.  I'm already considering giving it up again!  What a nightmare!  I ain't really giving up, but I gotta say it's alot tougher than I ever really imagined it to be.  I admire married people for having the willpower to stick it out until they found someone they were actually compatible with.  ;)

Congratulations!  I remember just how fantastic it felt to finally get under that number myself so I know exactly how great you feel right now!  Keep up the good work!  40lbs. ain't as far away as it may feel right now.  You'll be there before you know it.  ;)
Weight Loss Low Cal Snack Ideas - Please help!!! Dec 17 2007

I've not been eating nearly as healthy this time of year but I love veggies to snack on.  Cauliflower is my favorite but I like carrot sticks, too.  Are mushrooms a veggie?  They're low-cal I know and I can eat them just straight from the fridge.  I usually have a little light or fat free ranch to dip my veggies and shrooms in, but I can and do eat them plain, too.

If it's sweet I want a light yogurt will usually hit the spot.  Yoplait Light Thick N Creamy is about 100 calories and they have flavors that are awesome.  Key Lime Pie is really yummy and they have an orange flavor (forget the name) that tastes just like a creamsicle.

I've been on Ortho-tricyclen for a couple months now.  I've not gained any weight on it.  I'm actually still losing, just extremely slowly.  I don't think it's the pill that's slowing down my weight loss, though.  I think it's the holiday temptations I keep running into.

I do seem to have more cravings.  I'm not sure if that's the pill or not.  And I've had other side effects that I'm quite positive are from my bc pills.

I've been indulging alot more often this time of year.  I'm managing to maintain and even still losing a bit, but I know I'd be seeing better progress if I'd get back to my plan hardcore like I was prior to Thanksgiving.  We're all human, and temptation does get to us sometimes.  The best thing we can do if we fall off the wagon is pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and climb right back on.

I thought not one breath about calories on Thanksgiving and I didn't gain any.  My weight fluctuated within a few lbs. up and down for about 4 weeks prior (the same few lbs up and down) and it didn't get any higher or any lower following Thanksgiving.  The next week it stopped bouncing around and I stayed at the lower number of that range.  Within a few days following that I'd actually lost 2lbs. and now I'm down another 1.5lbs.  I'm following my calorie limits on most days but today is my nephew's bday party which I won't be counting calories for and I won't be counting on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.  The rest of the time I'm managing to be within range or at least not over maintenance.  The drinks I'll likely have on New Years Eve will hopefully finish up my holiday splurging and I can hit it hard again.  I really wanna lose these last 47lbs. by the end of next summer.
Weight Loss 'Actual' body size vs perceived body size Dec 14 2007

I've lost 132.5lbs.  I've went from a skin-tight 28 to a 16 so far, so I KNOW that I'm smaller now.  I can look at photos from before and now and see that I'm smaller now.  But to look in the mirror, especially without clothing I feel like my body looks exactly the same as it did when I started.  I know that it couldn't possibly, but I can't seem to actually SEE myself looking differently.  I remember saying if I could lose x amount of weight I'd see it I bet.. but x amount of weight comes and I think "well I still don't see it, but maybe at new x amount of weight I'll see it".   Like I said, in photos I definitely see the difference, especially when side by side, but just glancing at myself in the mirror I have a really hard time imagining the old me looked so much different.

What size clothing did you start at (and what's your current size?)

I was wearing 28's in jeans..sorta.  I'd have to shop for days to find a pair of 28's that would actually go on and not cut off circulation, but that's the biggest size the stores carried around here.  I think in the last year or so before I started my weight loss I'd been able to find 2 pair of jeans with stretch in them that actually fit.  I really should have been wearing 30's.

I'm now wearing 16's or 18's.

How many pounds lost = a loss of a clothing size for you?

The first size drop took about 40lbs.  Every size since then has been about 20lbs.

Did your shoe size change?

Yes, it did.  When I started I wore a 10, preferably wide width.  Now I wear 9's.

The Lounge Tanning? ? ? ? ? Dec 10 2007
14:55 (UTC)

I'm fair skinned, hadn't been in a tanning bed but a couple times 10 years ago and really didn't know much about it.  First time I spent 7 minutes in a bed (20 minute bed, the older kind) with new bulbs..sounded like a short amount of time.  I was cooked!  I had an excruciating few days of feeling like my skin was being ripped off of me every time I moved.  Not fun.

So, from experience, start out slow...like 3 minutes maybe.  Do that 2 or 3 times (if you don't burn) and then up it to 5.

I don't use expensive tanning lotion.  I picked up what I have at Wal-Mart for less than 10 dollars and I turned a nice color.

It took me about 20 sessions to build up to the full tan time and get that color.  I've been going once or twice a week since then to maintain it.  I know people say it's terrible for you but I think I look so much better with some color and just hate to let it fade and have to start over come spring.

For some reason, though, my arms, neck, and collar bone area won't get as dark as the rest of me.  They've got some color but my legs and arms are 2 completely different colors.  Anyone have explanation or ideas for that?

Hi all.  I just now found this thread.

Where am I at?  189

Where I'm coming from?  I started out at 320lbs. on Jan. 8, 2007.  I'd lost my 100th lb. in just over 6 months with no pills, no eating disorders, and no surgery.  I've now lost 131 lbs.

Where am I going?  140..working my way there very slowly these days but that's my ultimate goal.

How am I doing?  Great!  Thanks for asking.  =)

I'm cooking a huge dinner with all the trimmings for my family.  I'm gonna cook, and I'm gonna eat without counting calories that day.  Christmas eve and Christmas day will be the same way.  I figure there is no way to undo 362 days work in only 3.  I'm not gonna binge or stuff myself until I'm sick but I am gonna enjoy the meals, the punch, and dessert.  ;)

I've lost 128lbs. since Jan 8 without pills or surgery.  I figure anything you put in your body has side effects and if I was gonna do this I wanted to do it the healthy way.  I didn't want to have to starve, take pills, or get chopped on.

Anyway, I know nothing about the product, but I just wanted to let you know it's possible to lose alot of weight without pills and without starving.  I eat more now than I ever did really...it's just healthier, lower-cal food.
Weight Loss Be naughty once in a while!!! Nov 03 2007

I've not lost weight from being naughty, but a meal that I don't count the calories for will usually raise my numbers a couple pounds right after, but then will kick my weight loss into gear if I'm getting stuck.  Once in awhile I'll bounce around the same few pounds for 2 or 3 week.  So far, knock on wood, a naughty weekend has been the ticket to speeding up weight loss for a week or 2 and get the scale moving downward again.  It's a win/win situation.  I eat something indulgent, have a few drinks, and for the next couple weeks I'm seeing progress again.  ;)  I think the key is not to let those indulgences become frequent habits.

The good:

I'm healthier.

I breathe better.

I can cross my legs.

I enjoy shopping again.

I have confidence for the first time in my life.

Strangers offer to help me get things off top shelves, stop the car and let me cross the street, hold doors open, etc.  Doesn't sound like much but for someone who has never had that treatment it's nice.

Occassionally a man flirts with me.  And I have enough confidence now to recognize it.

The bad:

I'm discovering that some of the things I blamed on my weight are not necessarily about my weight, but about me.  Tough blow.

Increased libido.  This would be a good side effect..'cept I'm single.

I'm cold all the time.

Not enough clothes.. and don't want to buy alot of clothes because I still have 50lbs. to go.
