My friend just forwarded this recipe.

Maybe by knowing exactly what is in it, you can avoid eating what you are allergic to??

Adapted from: Cook It Light by Jeanne Jones

The herbs are prepared in a larger quantity (1/2 cup of mix) and are to be kept in a small jar to be used for either the dressing or the dip when needed. Store them in a cool, dry place.

The Herb Mixture:

1/4 cup dried parsley

3 1/2 tablespoons dried minced onion

2 teaspoons dried chives

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or dry minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon celery seed or celery salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon salt (optional - I don?t add it.)

Mix ingredients well and store

Light Ranch Dressing:

1/4 cup reduced calorie mayonnaise

(Note: I have used no fat mayonnaise but the dressing doesn?t thicken well, although the taste is the same.)

3/4 cup buttermilk

Combine 1 tablespoon of the dressing mix (above) with the mayonnaise and mix thoroughly using a wire whisk. Slowly add the buttermilk, stirring constantly until well mixed. Refrigerate in a tightly covered container. Makes 1 cup of dressing.

Two tablespoons contain approximately:

20 Cal.; 1 gm Fat (or .5 with no fat mayo);

Ranch Vegetable Dip:

1/4 cup no fat mayonnaise

1/4 cup no fat yogurt

Combine 1 tablespoon of the dressing mix above with yogurt and mayonnaise. Blend well. Let sit for at least a half hour. Makes a great dip for cucumbers, celery, etc.

Makes 1/2 cup

Hi Mary,

I don't have any allergies, but have you looked into the organic section of your grocery store? You may be able to find more natural non chemically processed microwave popcorn and lite dressing.

I MADE IT!!!!! I MADE IT!!! I AM IN THE CLUB!!!!

I am soooooo excited! I hit 139 today!!!

I started at 150 in January. The heaviest I had ever been in my life!!!! But this was just after a major tragedy in my life and I ate to keep my mind off of my troubles. My goal weight is 125.

I understand your frustration. Somethimes it is difficult to calculate some foods.

You will be ok if you are off a few calories or so. Just keep eating smart.

I know that not all of the measurements are in there for what we are eating. Just make adjustments based on the calculations that are coming up. For example, maybe you anly eat a few ounces of something and the database only has the calculations for a cup of that something. Get out a measuring cup and put your few ounces of the something into it and guess-timate the percentage and then get out your calculator and make the adjustments and add the food to your tagged items with your new measurements. It is very tedious at first, but in the long run it will same you a ton of time and frustration.

When I started I measured out everything and logged everything. Now when I eat something that is common for me I can just look it up in my tagged items. Eventually you will be able to eyeball your food and know what you are eating.

The Beatles!!!!!!

I had the opportunity to go to England a couple of years ago and I went to the Cavern!!! It was sooooooo exciting!!!!

I had their posters in my room when i was in Jr. High and High School (I am only 31).

I am totally jealous of my mother. She saw them get off of the plane in San Fran before their Candlestick concert in 1966.

  • I have a sports bottle that holds 24oz. I have placed 4 of those little "sign here" tabs on the bottle. Each time I finish the bottle, I will pull off a tab. At the end of the day, all of the tabs should be gone!

    I belong to Netflix. You can get a ton of different DVD's from them. I am rotating through a bunch of cardio ones right now.

    I like it because it is like having a ton of exercise DVD's without buying for them and being disapointed. If I don't like it, I just send it back.

    When I do find one that I love, I will find it and buy it.

    I am right here with you. I just started on Saturday at 145. I have only lost one pound but I feel a ton better because of what I am eating, or not eating.

    Reducing calories is kinda tough in the begining because you feel like you are starving, but after a couple of days you will find that you can eat and stay full if you just pay attention to what is going in your mouth.

    Remember to drink water! There is nothing in it and it helps your stomach feel a little bit more full so you wont want to snack as much.
