| could have been food poisoning but coworkers ate the pizza and didn't get sick and I vomit from almost anything and didn't - just felt bad. I don't know - I"m just going to chalk it up to a very strange but very bad experience, link it somehow to my illness and my blood sugar issues and move on.
I appreciate the comments everyone has made :) Stacie |

| No - not a panic attack - too calm a person for that - I was completely unstressed - actually only had two patients at that time - calmest night I've had at work in about 2 years :) Maybe I was anxious because it was too calm? It actually sort of felt like when my blood sugar used to drop (I have a hypoglycemic history and would drop into the 30's and 40's) but when I checked it, it was 90 - good.
Very bizarre, whatever it was, and no fun at all. Thanks for replying though. Stacie |

| Weight Loss | Whats your FAVORITE food? | Mar 23 2007 01:02 (UTC) |

| Apples - the little green granny smith kind - enjoy them almost daily, sometimes twice a day.
Nuts of all kinds - love them so much, but I absolutely cannot eat them, ever - they make me terribly sick - I mourn for them - every once in a while I'll splurge and take just a few nibbles, but I always pay a hefty price for them. Ice Cream - any kind, doesn't matter. I try to avoid it completely now - but lately, the no sugar added fudgsicles are an almost nightly treat. Trying real hard not to get too hooked on them. Fun topic, thanks! Stacie |

| just curious - what does "zig zagging" your calories mean? It sounds like something I might need to if I plateau - which I'm sure I will.
Thanks! Stacie |

| ummm - exercise? You actually have to do that? (laughing) I haven't started an exercise regimine yet, but my hubby and I are planning on starting out just walking this week (if the weather warms again) and slowly increasing from there. Right now, my exercise comes from 12 hours on my feet 3 to 4 nights a week as a nurse on an adult critical care unit in a level one trauma center - I literally run from one end of the hall to the other non-stop some nights, carrying my meal with me in my hand and eating while I work - so I'm pretty active there. Also, as a full time college student, I carry my 40 pound back-pack across campus three times a day, I take the stairs instead of the elevator (3 flights up, 3 flights down) and park at the end of the parking lot and hoof it. I know this isn't an adequate workout, but it's better than nothing. I've had some health issues since the beginning of January and just took my last antibiotic this am (been on them for a month - I'm so glad to be done!!!) I'm feeling better than I have in a long long time and I think I might be able to start working in some more even healthier lifestyle changes :) Want to suggest some simple cardio workouts for a largish woman who doesn't exercise?

| I've lost a total of 23 pounds since I started, and I can't see that it has come from anywhere. My clothes all still fit (sigh) and aren't even that much loser. I have noticed, however, that I seem to be a little slower, so I'm thinking that perhaps my weight loss is coming from my brain? (laughing) My husband, being ever so supportive, says that he hasn't noticed any weight loss either. The scales show it, but the tape measure does not. If there is anything at all that feels different, it would have to be my bra, which is maybe a little less tight - but I can't say for sure it's not my imagination. I spend a great lot of my time in scrubs, which are lose anyway, so maybe that's why I haven't noticed?
Oh well, onward and downward - I won't quit regardless. Doc appt. on April 5, maybe he'll notice :) Probably not, but maybe :) Stacie |

| Funny - when you're sick and admitted to the hospital, what do the Dr's infuse into your veins? Hmmm - Normal saline - 0.9% Sodium ... :)

| Weight Loss | Is it true you can gain weight by drinking diet soda's? | Mar 16 2007 09:16 (UTC) |

| Per my MD - diet soda (esp. Diet Mt Dew - which is my fav too!) has a lot of sodium and a lot of caffeine, both of which can cause fluid retention and elevated BP. Per my MD - if you absolutely *must* have diet colas, drink the Diet Rite variety. That said, I am young, healthy, my lab work is *always* excellent (with my sodium levels always too low because I drink tons of water too which flushes it from the body) and I fully intend to continue drinking my diet Mt. Dew - my MD is cool with that, because it used to be regular Mt. Dew - he's just glad to see the sugar gone :). If my lab work starts to get out of normals at some point I may reconsider, but since this is not a new behavior for me, I can't see that it's going to cause me to "gain" anything, maybe just slow down the loss? Regardless, I'm keeping the dew :)

| Motivation | Over 200 club! | Mar 11 2007 00:57 (UTC) |

| Hello :)
I'm new here - My name is Stacie and probably I need my own club. I'm 253 (down from 273 a few months ago) and coming back at it from a couple of weeks of purging on everything and anything I can get my hands on. I'm going to be starting with a cal count level of 1850 (instead of the recommended goal weight of 123, I just want to be 145 :) ) which will be easier than the 1200 I was maintaining on. I work night shift, so I get confused on what meals I'm eating and when - as in, I go to school during the day, then nap, then go to work at night. With three kids, I don't know whether I'm eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner with them, snacking at work or what. I feel like I eat 24 hours a day and never sleep. I'm working on a plan to get that all squared away too. My husband has joined me this time so hopefully we'll shed this weight together! I hope no one minds me popping in on this over 200 club!
