I had it done at 39 weeks. baby came a day and 1/2 later. It didn't hurt at all for me. The doctor was done when I asked when do we start...she did it when she was checking for dialation. I was 3cm 80% effaced for two weeks.

Congrats on your no gain! The last time I went on vacation, I gained a few pounds.

I started BIU this morning and it was monstrous. I completed most of it, but the floor legwork was a killer and I took many breaks. I'm looking forward to/dreading tomorrow at the same time.!

I hope I can join in...

I started SI6 last week, but only got in five days of workouts. I had a baby boy 3months ago and am trying to get to my pre-pregnancy weight of about 125. now i'm a whopping 148-150 depending on how the scale feels. Any way, I lost 2 pounds the first week.

I'm on my second week starting today. I skipped the SIU and went right to RIU because I had been working out a little. I was super sore the first few days. Now I can get through the workout without stopping for water breaks. I can do all the push ups and floor work, now, but i could barely do it the first week. I'm hoping by the end of the week that i can do some full pushups and not modified ones. I was amazed at how much improvement I made in just one week.

Pregnancy & Parenting How do you know if and when you are going to develop stretch marks Jun 24 2009

During my pregnancy I used Sexxy Belly from Carol's Daugher twice a day. I used it even though people said it probably wouldn't work b/c stretch marks are hugely determined by genetics. Well my mother has tons of stretch marks and I didn't get any. In fact at 8 months i started getting lazy about using the oil and two stretch marks started forming. I used the oil everytime i thought about it and they actually started healing. So now, 10 weeks post partum, I have none!

Pregnancy & Parenting Breastfeeding? Jun 04 2009

Hi,

I just went to my breastfeeding reference given to me by a lactation consultant called the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. It's a great easy to read book. I suggest you read it BEFORE giving birth so you won't run into all the problems I did.

In any case, the small section on breast surgery said basically that if most of your glands producing milk were left in tact you shouldn't have a problem. And sometimes even if they weren't they can heal and start to produce again. I'd say the fact that you're leaking is a great sign. The book advises that you just monitor the signs that your baby is receiving enough milk to be fully sure.

congrats on your pregnancy.

I'm in the same boat. after my initial weight loss, the scale hasn't budged. i've been taking 30 min walks every day with the baby. eating just ok.

I'm 5'3" 155 trying to get back down to 125. my son is a month old. everyone said breast feeding would help. so far nothing. what makes it worse is that 3 friends of mine just had babies and they all reached pre-pregnancy weight in 6 weeks. w/o nursing. i gained more than them, but not 30 pounds more. arrgh.

I'm going to start seriously monitoring my calories...1800 a day while nursing and ramp up my exercise as soon as doc says it's ok. i lived in the gym before pregnancy, but wasn't able to workout after month 2...but i ate like i still burned 800 calories a day at the gym.

my suggestion w/exercise is try to squeeze something in during naps. try 10 min video segments. there are several out there.

My husband won't eat wheat bread either. But he will eat Wonder Bread white wheat. It's still bleached flour, but at least it has some fiber in it.  Only 50 calories a slice. I think the Sara Lee brand is gross.

No babies yet. I  seriously tried to do what you asked, and am not sure I did it right. but there was space in between my abs that went up for about an inch or more It felt like muscle definition to me.

Hi all,

Laura, I'll send you your winner's fee tomorrow. I've got to get my paypal account straightend out.

As for the protein discussion, try a combination of whole grain rice and any type of beans. You'll get a nice complete protein.

I missed few workouts this week, but I FEEL like I'm back at 121. I sure hope so. it feels great. Yesterday I wore a skirt that I used to have to squeeze over my hips. It was wonderful not to have to do all that work!

have a great day everyone.

Hi All,

No weight loss for me this week--still123. But no gain--thank God. I still need to get back to inputting my calories to keep me accountable. When I'm lazy about it, i never do very well.

Congrats to all the losers this week. Can't wait to see what the winner will spend my money on. LOL

Hi All,

Hope everyone is having a great day. Mine was so-so. Finally got to the gym. Ate Okay--but not great. about 1400 calories.

wanttobefit: i wouldn't worry about your friend's skinny profile. you're doing this for you!

figurethefat: thax for the heads up on taco bell! my husband is a regular there hence some hard tacos usually end up coming my way.

floatytoes: you are a lifesavor. I've been trying to find a yogurt that wasn't loaded w/sugar forever. I love yogurt, but hate the artificially sweetened ones.

Hi Ladies.

I haven't worked out since Monday and my body is craving it. Glad to know that it's harder to fall off the exercise wagon since I've been so consistent with that,.. My eating is just horibble though. I have to admit I have not been entering my calories--that ususally always keeps me honest. I have to get back to that.

UGGGGGHHHH! I'm up 2 pounds this week at 123.

Between the bake sale again this weekend, BBQ on the 4th and a family reunion on the 7th. I'm also a few days away from my cycle--so one of those pounds may be from bloating. I can only hope.

figurethefat: I can't remember that post at all..I'll have to go searching.

2300 calories at 115! That would be a dream--but definitely not my reality. I'm active, but not that active.

Prettyinpinktrees: Congrats on the 3.8 pounds!

Seems like i'm always playing catch up. I didn't do well at al on the fourth. No work out and probably 2000 calories.

Yesterday was much better. Worked out for 2 hours and at about 1400 calories

Teaching_christing: Don't worry about our goals. Stick to what's best for YOU! If you feel great at 135, then go for it. To me it's not about being skinny. It's about being healthy AND comftorble with your body.

I've missed you guys. I've had so much reading to do, i can't even respond to everything I want to. I have two more weeks of being super busy and them hopefully--things will settle down.

Despite baking two days straight for a bake sale (and of course sampling EVERYTHING) and missing three days in the gym, i still lost weight.  couldn't beleive my eye either.

I did manage to work up a good sweat yesterday in church worshipping--but i usually don't count that as exercise. It's just pure bliss.

I'm 121 today 2 whole pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a lot for me.

Good luck on your weigh in everyone.

Boy...i've been so busy, i just had to catch up on two days of post reading.

didn't get a chance to hit the gym on Wednesday. Partially b/c of time but  partially b/c i took a muscle up class on tuesday that left me sooooo sore.

More bad news. I had a free lunch at Shell's restaurant and I went ther knowing i was going to eat the shrimp pasta. I hadn't had any in about 5 years. I had a light lunch and light dinner...but that pasta was probablly 1200 calories alone.

I did, however do 30 minutes on the elliptical and treadmill yesterday AFTER the splurge...so hopefully it won't be too damaging.

wanttobefit: i started at 125. I've lost  2 pounds since we started. I think your chart my be off by 1 pound. I need every pound i can get :}

have a great day everyone!

i store my bread in the fridge for just that long. me and my husband take a while to go through a loaf. if we left it out, it would go bad before we could finish it and it would be wasted. now i can can keep it for a while.

hey everyone. I'm at 123 today. one pound down from last week.

I guess that's not too bad i tend to lose weight very slow. I did a sesson of high intensity interval training on Friday and I could really tell the difference in my metabolism.  I think I'll be doing that a few times a week. It's really hard but so rewarding.

Pretty: I site called collagevideo.com sells all sorts of DVDs. When Can't get to the gym,  I swear by my minna lessig dvds. a few years ago i did one every day just to stay in shape i ended up losing about 10 pounds in 6 months with little effort.  The problem was that I stopped and it was hard to get back into the routine. I quit working out consistently for about 4 years and thus the weight came back. Bordom does set in for me--so i don't use them as much...but they're still fantastic. I have Fat Eliminator and Strength and Grace.

wanttobefit: Your body is adjusting to the running. after a period of time, it will start to burn calories more efficiently as a survival technique. Keep at it!

I like to put mushrooms sauted in abouta tsp of italian dressing onto a whole wheat tortilla, add a few slices of avocado, some fresh spinach and spicy salsa and grill it on my George foreman. It's very satisfying. add cheese if you like--but I find it doesn't really need it. I ordered something similar at Jason's Deli and started making it at home.

As a person who fasts pretty often, I can tell you...it's not an effective way to try to break a plateau. I've never lost any permanent weight on a 1 day fast. If you're not doing it for cleansing...there's no use going around hungry.

Hi All,

Looks like everyone had a decent day. I did an hour on the elliptical machine. No weights. Hopefully I'll have time to stick around the gym tomorrow and hit the weights. Food intake was so so in quality but at the right calories. 1300.

Have a good night.
