thanks everyone.

hedgren, I go to a stress specialist to help me cope. Actually, I asked my doctor for advice and she referred me to her. the specialist said that I am afraid of change because I don't know what will happen so i am stressed out. she recommended that I just need to go ahead and rent a studio for myself ( same advice i got from Gi-Jane). and she said that my current place is really causing me discomfort and that I got used to " the comfort in discomfort".

Gi-Jane, staying where I am is not an option. to be honest, if someone told me I would stay here longer, I would feel released. what has this  to do with confidence? yes, i am frightended and I don't know why. yes, i still spend my spare cash on cakes, I will take it. thanks.

Abbi, I know. waiting is not going to solve anything. yes, i am trying to stay longer in my current place and I am begging for an extenstion but till when? I am sitting in my room crying and feeling anxious. I think it is better to get it over with. but I need support from here, guys.

I should add that I eat junk all the time because this situation is causing me extreme anxiety. I feel like a huge something is falling apart and I eat because I want to prevent that from happening.

So...you have internet access, but no access to emergency services or a telephone?

Relax. Clean it as best you can with soap and water. If you have any antibacterial spray, like bactein, spray that in there. If you think someone will come home soon, wrap it really well with a CLEAN towel, and hold it above your head until someone can take you to a doctor. If you're realy stuck, and you don't think anyone is going to come home soon, you can super glue the cut shut. It will stop the bleeding until you can get stiches if needed. My husband and I are both chefs, and we use super glue on cuts all the time. You have 48 hours to get stiches if you need them. Don't worry, and good luck!

you clean an open cut with soap?? are you sure?

Not sure if this is sarcastic or not, but, yes, you can clean an open cut with soap.

no, this is not sarcastic. I have never seen anyone cleans his open cut with soap so I asked.

To the OP, I hope you will feel better soon.

She needs to figure out her life and it doesn't seem like you can help her at all.  Professional therapy takes time and energy and money and it doesn't sound like she's ready for it.

LOL:)) It is ok. you can stay for a few days onlyWink

Seriously, I am usually more patient with my friends and don't complain at all but I am just nervous these days because of my moving situation.

Thanks, Sara. Actually, I don't want to tell her when I am moving because she wants to move in with me :)) When she learnt that I might rent a studio, she said : " Oh, yes, go ahead and  rent a studio so i can stay with you". I don't want her to stay with me because she will drive me crazy.

on another note, she emailed the last jerk who dumped her saying that she missed him. That jerk didn't care at all when she was in the hospital. he yelled at her asking him to leave his house last time they had a dispute. when I asked her why did you do that? she said:" I emailed him because I miss him and YOU don't want talk to me and I need to talk to somebody".

I think at this point, I am done with her. really. she makes me tired and I will try to stay away when I can. if she wants to go back to the jerk who will ask her to come to his place for sex, then she can go ahead. There is nothing for me to say.

Thanks everyone.

well, she called me 3 times at work today. She also sent me an email. she left me a voicemail. Honestly, I was about to throw up after listening to her voicemail. I was exhausted and I told her that I can meet her near my house. She demanded that I go to the other side of the city where her fav place is. I said NO. she got mad and hung up.

this is really tough. She needs help but I can't give it to her. I am scared she might do something to hurt herself.

Hedgren, thanks. yes, she entered the marriage young and directly from her parent's home. she was the one who introduced her husband to the other woman. her husband ended up cheating on her with the other woman and divorced her in court. Sad story.

I have to agree with you, Hedgren. I always have this problem. I can't set boundries esp with people who are close to me. I need to work on that.

enchantedfey, thanks for the advice. I can't cut her off completely. I think I have to make a balance between my needs and hers.

thanks Sara and Nieto:) Nieto, I like your new pic by the way Smile

Sara, that is excatly what is happening. she feels loved and valued then gets dumped then her depression comes back again. you know what, Sara?? I don't know if this wrong or not. Can I ask my therapist to see her at least one or two times and then submit the claims as if it was me?

this morning she emailed me that she feels very down and she doen't know why she is still alive? I asked her what does she miss since her divorce? is it sex? she said no, I just miss love.

she doesn't want to have protected sex. I have tried to convience her before.

she wants to see me tonight and I want to go home to pack my stuff because I am moving out and time is tight. I don't have time for her these days but she is suicidal and I feel so guilty now.

thanks everyone. the problem is I am in a recovery mode myself. last year, I had a crisis in my life and I felt very down for a long time. I have been recovering and feeling better now. I am not sure what to do with her because I have started to feel down a bit everytime I chat with her.

I have a health insurance plan that covers mental health, is there a way she can get professional help through my insurance? if not, then I dont really know what to do.

she wants to stay with me, she wants to meet with me tonight, she wants to chat the whole weekend. she calls me at work. I know she is lonely and depressed but I am not sure how I can help.

Intellectually, I know you're right.

But emotionally, the phrase "miserable thin, rich, good-looking" sounds like a

contradiction in terms. How could they still be miserable?

They've already won life's lottery. They have everything.(almost)

OK, now back to contemplating my blessings, and looking for the good in life.

Actually, I don't understand it either. How can that possible? I mean how can people who are rich, thin and good looking be miserable?? of course, they have problems like anybody else. I just don't think they would be miserable.I just don't get that, Gi-jane. If you could explain more, that would be great :)

why do you assume that when you get to your weight goal, your crush won't like you back? are you trying to predict the future? you will never know until you get there, right?

Be positive and celebrate you being healthy. Get rid of these negative thoughts and enjoy your life and weight loss. The right person will be waiting for you.

Let me ask you this. after you finish school, you will need a job. Am I correct? then why don't you start adjusting from now?? I know it is hard but baby steps count. I think this is a great opportunity for you to make a change. maybe you will get used to  public transportation without the need of any parents' support.

Michachu, thanks for asking. I spent that night crying trying to get in but the owner refused and he said : " I can't let you in because I don't know you and never heard from you before, the tenant who rented that apt had moved out and she gave me the keys. Other than that, I am not responsible".

Frankly, he was RIGHT. but I kept begging him to let me in and get my stuff. It was 3 am in the morning and I had no place to go. so he said, ok come in the morning and I let you get your stuff out.

I traveled to another state to my friend and slept a little then went back to the apt and got my stuff.

did I get my 400 dollars deposit from the liar horrible lady? NO. I never saw her again. she never returned my calls.

I moved out and it was not even the end of the month. I paid for the whole month.

That is why I am telling Mutt that sublet is really tricky and not good unless you have a good roommate.

and that is why I am paranoid now since I have to look for another new place with the possibility of sharing with someone.

Mutt, let me ask you this. Is this lady the owner of the apt?? or does she rent the apt? is there a management company involved in this?

Yes, she lives in the townhouse with me. She does not own the place, she rents it. I know because she has trouble gathering up her amount of rent each month--she has asked to borrow money from me.

I'm not sure if there is a management company involved, but we live in a gated community.

Wait, if she doesn't own it, she's technically not your landlord... right?  I mean, even though you pay rent to her, the management company/whoever she pays the rent to is technically your landlord.  Is she still held to the same rules as a regular landlord?  Also, should she have been allowed to take a security deposit in the first place?

that is my point Sammi. I am talking here from experience. I rented a room from a lady who told me she owns the apt but she was a liar. I moved in and after a few months I didn't feel comfortable so I decided to move out. She knew she had to move out too because she couldn't afford the rent. one day, I came back from school and found out that she moved out with all her furniture and  the apt was locked. I couldn't get in so I called the neighbors. the " real" landlord showed up and he told me he had no idea who I am and I need to leave otherwise he would call the police.

I realized that I put myself in trouble when I didn't sign a lease or a sublet with the landlord. you should find out if your situation is legal enough to demand the deposit. Remember, Mutt. you rented that room without the knowledge of the landlord. like I said before, you might be able to get your deposit back if you go to small claims court but you would be also in trouble because your rent situation is not 100% legal. best of luck to you.

Since there's no written lease, just a verbal, if I were in your place I would just stay on for another 30 days without paying rent.  That puts your landlord/roommate into the uncomfortable position that you're in right now.  If she wants you out, she'll have to pay up.

I would have done this, but she has already found a girl to rent my room. The new girl is moving in the SAME day that I move out, Nov. 15! That would be a solution, but I do not want to drag some innocent girl into this. I don't think she has anywhere to go.

IMO, the next innocent victim tenant should know how this woman operates.

Most leases do not allow for sub-lets because of this situation.  If the townhouse was supposed to be leased out to two separate parties, then the property management would have handled the leases of all parties involved with a lease for each room / space.

Exactly. that is my point. the management should have handled everything for all parties. If the OP takes her case to the small claims court, she might be able to get her deposit back but she also could face some trouble because  of her sublet situation without the owner's knowledge.

if she doesn't own the place then she made a mistake by letting you rent the room because she has to go to the management company or the owner first. I think both of you had made a mistake and I don't want you to be in trouble because you rented a room without going through the legal process as it should be.

this is the law in ny. maybe it is different where you are but you have to find out about that. It is likely possible that she will be in trouble if the owner of the apt finds out about that.

I just wanted you to be protected when you take her to the small claims court.

Hi Sara and thanks for the reply:)

you are right. everyone wants to live there in the residence because of the cheap rent. NYC is a tiring place for people who are not extremely wealthy.

there is no problem with the pre war building. I didn't go. sorry for the cofusion. that was another apt with a roommate and I didn't want it becasue the lady has a dog. The pre-war building is very difficult to get in  becasue the super is Super rude. :) he said he doesn't have time to show the apts to anyone. I keep calling with no answer.

the studio I am about the sign the lease for is not month to month . it is one year.

when I get a place, i will treat you guys to a cup of coffee or a drinkWink

WG. thanks for your reply. I am more open now to any ideas. I called and emailed the family several times. I think the dad has found someone else. I am pretty sure they got a lot of responses. I tried to follow up but there was no answer.

It takes months and months to get a room in that cheap residence. they don't want to tell me any thing. They will call me if something becomes available.  i ask them when? they say, " we don't know". I keep calling and they ignore my follow up calls. so it can be one or two months from now to get a place there or it could be several months.

the studio, they are pushing me to sign the lease and they say they can't hold the apt more than that. when I ask about the renovations, they say we will ask the super and see what we can do. but seriously, without renovations, the studio doesn't deserve the amount of money I am going to spend on it.

I can PM you to tell you where I work and what I do. :) I prefer not to publish this info on a public forum. Smile
