Thanks everyone for the replies~!!! yaggablues- i will probably try to limit my carbs and give the pill another chance. What I am about to say isn't an excuse it is just an explanation though...It is hard for me to limit my carbs because I am at school and have no car so the only food I can really store are soups and pastas so there goes my carbs :/ I might try to find other people to go to the store with because my roommates always order out! x17star- yeah I have been on a bunch of brands. I have been on Yasmin, Yaz, Nuva Ring, and Ortho Evra over the past 6 years (geesh) sounds crazy. I never "gained weight" on the pills but I just was unable to lose weight no matter how much I worked out or how healthy I ate. It wasn't until I stopped taking the birth control pills months into calorie count that I lost weight. I kept everything the same, the reason I felt the urge to stop taking the pill was because I had been following my doc's reccomendations for a few months and hadnt seen any changes. My measurements did change, and where my weight gain has been makes sense along with the bc. Like my stomach, love handles, saddle bags... all those lovely parts haha. I don't feel like I have any unusual cravings, that is the thing that really gets me, and it is constant weight gain day-to-day not just a one day fluke of 10lbs higher. it sucks! pgeorgian- haha yes it was s'il vous plaît, sometimes I don't even realize I am talking/chatting in franglais! haha. I mean I can understand it giving people weird cravings but I don't eat any more or any less or even any weirder foods than previously. I just don't get it. I am also pretty active, I play field hockey for 2 hours a few nights a week, that should be balancing me out!! hah aprii- so after you stopped taking it, how long did it take you to lose those 7-8lbs? Because I stopped last spring and it took a bit of time, I guess for my body to get back on normal cycle, but It was only then that I started to lose weight. I think I am going to finish this pack and call my doctor because I had told her my concern about this before starting. |

| um if you read this you would see that I wrote, bad I know after talking about eating the cinnamin bun for breakfast. That was the only time I have done that, and I did it because I wasn't feeling good and I thought it would make me feel better. Usually I eat oatmeal or mini wheats for cereal, so no that is not why I had any weight fluctuations. | |||

salomershy -- nope they weren't packets. one was progresso, and the other was campbells healthy recipie. so i am not really sure. but it was the same scale each time! curalium-- okay thanks!! I know it is really annoying, i only record my morning weight each Weds. I just have that habit of wanting to see, even though it just confuses me. ugh, too bad the 120s was just a fluke, but thanks anyways! sarkeizen-- i try to weight myself every weds. at around the same time, and before i eat breakfast but it always manages to end up different when i weight myself again later in the day, but like a good 5-6lbs difference. which i thought was a bit much since i am only 5'5, but i don't know. we will see. thanks thou!

| Weight Loss | how can i break this plateau/is it even possible?? | Aug 04 2007 20:28 (UTC) |

| Kristinedaqueen- I actually found that I've been loosing more weight not exercising. Now, I know that I should be exercising, but until I can find the best exercises to tone my mid-section, I am cutting back on it. I still get decent speed walks in because I have to walk to class each way carrying my heavy books, and since I am normally worried about being late, i tend to power walk. haha. I have been trying to have cheat days, I think I just need to make sure and record EVERY calorie so I can make sure, it's just hard when I go to restaurants that don't have nutritional guides, normally I just find something on cc with a similar description. and I think now I am more concerned with toning, since my body seems to not want to drop anymore weight... hmm, but thanks! and good luck to you. hopefully we can break these plateaus! oakum- CC is really amazing. I started on here because my doctor told me to keep track of my calories and I googled to try and find an easy way to keep track of it online. It's actually easier than I thought, even thou some days i find myself a little too overwhelmed to plug in my food and activities. I'm at an awkward stage where my old clothes are baggy but I am just a little too big to go the next size down. Hopefully I can tone up before my goal date in October, so I can buy a new outfit for my birthday. good luck to you also! shiptona- I know, I am not trying to complain, although I know it seems that way. I am just more frustrated than anything. I feel like I try so hard with little reward, while some of my friends don't have to do anything, and their weight only drops. but thats life haha. I am going to try to hit the amount of calories each day, or at least balance it out throughout the week. my sleeping in on the weekends messes me up sometimes though because I won't eat till like 1 or 2 pm and then stay up later. when you eat after midnight do you record it as the next day? i never know which I should do. Also, just a general question. I know I have read the FAQs about the weight tracker, but is the weight listed next to your recorded weight what you are really at? I was unsure about that. BEcause it is always higher than what i record off of the scale. I was just a little confused. and even thou I may weigh myself more often than once a week, I try to use just my Weds. weigh in to calculate my amount lost, because I saw from many people on cc that it usually is more accurate, since my weight flucuates by about 1-4lbs per day. Thanks to you all! and good luck, I think this has got me ready to start posting more and getting more involved on cc so maybe this motivation can get me more into fighting this darn plateau! haha --Laura |

| thanks guys, so far i have been borrowing friends ipods to motivate me, but the gym has their own station, but it is awful, really staticy and full of commercials. so i guess i am going to look into getting a nano or a shuffle. i am just worried that the shuffle will fall off when i am working out and break cuz it is so little. but my ipod is totally dead :( the poor ipod broke into three parts, and it managed to dent the hard metal backing and rip the wires out of the battery, oh yeah and crack the screen haha. i looked online for replacement parts cost and they cost more than buying a brand new ipod. so i guess i'll just have to deal with buying a new one! but i'm going keep staying motivated no matter what! thanks!! -laura |
