| Hello Everyone!
Greeting from Seoul, South Korea! I made it here. The flight was super long but, it was worth it. I've been doing okay with the food calorie-wise, I think. I have no idea how to count everything. I miss everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. I didn't and won't have time to read all the posts until I get back home. Just wanted to drop a quick hello!! :) |

| Hello everyone! Hello to all the new people! Had a busy day today. Went and helped the in-laws get their new place cleaned up and painted. So, the food was off but, the activity was way up today. I even painted my first window trim! Yep...I've been living a protected life. As for the meatloaf - to make mine leaner, I sometimes use 1/2 x-lean ground beef and 1/2 ground turkey. It's good and no one ever notices the difference. I'll be back tomorrow...just wanted to pop in a say hi, so, "HI!" |

Good morning everyone!....um...mid morning! Welcome to all you newcomers! As a few of us long-timers have said, it is hard to keep up with everyone but, I'll try. V - Awww...that's soo sweet! Hye withdrawls! Oh boy! I will try to long on at least once from an internet cafe in Korea so that I can say I signed on from Korea! Chris - Very excited about our trip! I can't believe a week from Friday I'll be flying over the Pacific Ocean. Carol - Sorry to hear about your losses. You are doing well in holding together. I hope things are looking up. myselfskinny - I think I know what show you're talking about. Is it Big Medicine on TLC? I watched it last night and it really put things into focus for me. Just remember small steps and the overall picture. Don't get caught up with the numbers on the scale. They fluctuate a lot! Turtle - Great job on keeping focus on your goal! I know you can reach it. tab - Wow! 17 days! I've heard lots of stories of pets returning after years of being gone. I'm glad yours came back. I hope you get that family vacation you're wishing for...even if it's just camping in the backyard! I am totally with you about not beating yourself up about it. I'm down about 15 pounds but, I have to admit that I've lost some of my motivation so, I've more bad days lately than good plus, this vacation coming up - I know I'll end up gaining. I'm going to try to keep a food journal while on the trip but, my focus will be to enjoy this once in a lifetime trip. Okay...back to work for me. I've been very productive, I've read 4 chapters of Business Law, now I'm off to do the questions and onto reading Macro! |

| V - ....one more thing....I love my 12 grain bread with nuts. While it's pretty high in calories (120 cals per slice) it tastes great and I'm getting extra nutrients from the nuts that are in it (sunflower and flax). I highly recommend it. In Canada the brand is Bon Matin Grain Entiers but, I used to love my Freihofer's Oat Nut from the states. | |||

| Wow! I can't believe how much I've missed in the short time I was away! I'm trying to catch up on all the posts, I'm about half way there. tab - I'm sooo happy to hear that your cat came back! Wow! How long was he gone for?? mabear - I'm sorry to hear that you're having a tough time with things. I wish I had the right, comforting words for you but, I don't. I can't give better advice than what's already been given. Just know that we are here to let you "vent it out" if you need it. I hope things start to level out for you. :) ktcort - Beautiful picture! You look so happy, you're glowing! v - The shorter hair sounds fun. On the trip to the salon when I was getting de-haired, I cut my hair too. I cut it just a little bit too short and I'm not loving it. So, I can understand cutting a little bit shorter but, not too short. Luckily, I still have two full weeks before my trip and hopefully by then, I'll have figured out how to fix my hair or it will have grown out a little bit. Welcome to all the new people - all I can say is - THIS PLACE IS GREAT! Alright...I'm headed to bed and will try to catch up on the rest of posts tomorrow. |

Hello Everyone! I back for a few days. I'm sooo happy to see everyone doing well. You guys are doing great. I will be on and off for the month of June but, mostly off. We have a lot of traveling coming up, especially the last two weeks of June. I will miss everyone but, I'll be back in July. I'm doing okay. I was pretty bad the two days we were gone last week but, the up in calories really boosted my metabolism! This morning I weighed in at my lowest weight so far (196.8)! So, three days of eating really bad turned out not so bad - although I was a lot more active than I would have been being at home. I'm back to a normal food schedule for a while. We will be gone again this Weds. and Thurs. So...I'll check in when I can!! Keep it up the good work!!! :) |

Thanks everyone for your encouragement! I really need it. I'm with bqueenme, I'm having a hard time keeping up with everyone's posts. It is wonderful we have so many wonderful supportors. Forgive me for not being more aware of who is here and what is going on. I'm doing much better today. I went for a little mini-spa day today in the middle of running errands. I'm happy to report that I now have two eyebrows instead of one and no longer sport a cool looking moustache. I know you guys really liked the look but, I had to get rid of the moustache. It just wasn't me. Then, I got a nifty new haircut that looked great in the salon and now, I don't know what to do with it. In a few weeks, I'll have it all figured out. Food-wise, I'm doing okay...started the day with yogurt and fresh fruit. For lunch, I had my citrusy tuna salad on whole wheat bread and tonight I plan on having pork chops with brown rice, broccoli and mushroom gravy. That'll keep me a few hundred calories under for the day. Thanks for the support you guys...I really, really appreciate it and it really does keep me going! |

| Hey everyone...! Great job on everyone for their losses and successes. I was having a great weekend with my husband and I was having such a great time, I started to eat. I've been eating non-stop for three days now. I stepped on the scale today and it wasn't pretty. I know that I went way over my calories for these three days. So, I'm feeling kind of blah....it's like I had no discipline these past three days. Tomorrow I'll work on going back to it...... |

Ell That's so awesome!! I'm soooo happy for you!! I know how you're feeling!! :) Today has been a very good day for me.... This morning I had an appointment downtown. There is a subway strike here in Montreal and they only run the metro during peak hours. I was able to take the metro down but, couldn't take it back. So, I decided to walk as far as I could..... ....well, walking by all those stores...how could I not going in?? I mean it's really hot here and they had air conditioning. I had to get out of the heat right?? AND....since I'm in the store, why not get some exercise and look around right??....hehehehehe.....you guys can probably guess where I'm headed with this right?? Yes, I went shopping! I fit into a size 18!!! It felt great! I even tried on cute little dresses and some of them actually looked nice. I didn't buy them because I would not really wear them but, I had to try. I went from an XXL to XL and a comfortable size 18! Yeah!! It was so nice to have two sections to choose from. I was sooo happy that when it came time for lunch I went to my favorite diner and ordered a grilled salmon salad. It came with vegetable and pasta soup. I just ate the vegetables and left the pasta alone and had grilled salmon with a little bit of salad. I'm sooo proud of myself right now....if you guys could see the big grin on my face.... ....anyways, I ended up walking for about 6 hours and finally after some blisters got a cab home. 6 hours of walking! That was 1600 - something calories because I was carrying all my loot! I just had to share while the sharing was good....!! |

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't posted lately but, I've been busy - which is a good thing. bqueen - Yep, running lots of errands. Real errands. Since classes have started again, I haven't had much time to do the fun errands. :( V - I've especially loved running my errands because I can now drive. It's been a weird feeling for me to depend on my hubby to drive me everywhere. I've been looking for all kinds of reasons to drive. Today it was to go get ingredients for a cheesecake for this weekend. We are entertaining and the guests have requested my cheesecake. Hmmm....will be good or bad...I guess we'll find out! Good job and being able to walk away from the pastries...who was that evil person? Maybe we should sprinkle salt on all of them to turn everyone off..hahahaha... blueotter - It's amazing how one negative set back causes a string of other ones. I hope you were able to figure something out for your exercise even if it meant standing in one place and walking. tabb - I think someone already mentioned that muscle weighs more than fat so, exercising is causing a gain but, in a good way. I think we all need to remember that the number on a scale is a reference and there are other factors at play in our weightloss journey. turtlegirl - You inspired me to make meatloaf last night. I'm always on the search for a really good meatloaf recipe. I think I came close last night. The real test is the left overs. I can't wait to eat the leftovers tonight! Ooo...I hope you're feeling better. Headcolds are not fun, especially when it's nice out. ell - Gardening is hard work! Don't forget to count it for exercising. Kudos to you to be able to garden for 8 hours. I have a short attention span and a few hours and I want to do something else! mabear - My fingers and toes crossed for you! I hope you get the job! chris - I have not heard from rockin and I'm a little concerned. I wonder if she's really busy or if she's lurking again. Hmmm...I think I'll drop her an email. droz - You mean over 50 lbs?? Hahaha...sorry, I'm 31. kt - The great thing is that you're holding steady and not gaining. You know you could be losing weight and gaining nice lean muscle all at the same time and it's canceling eachother out so that the number on the scale reads the same. How do you feel?? palumbus - Welcome! You'll love it here. You know I didn't want to be in the 200 club either but, through everyone's support I've gotten below 200 and now I don't want to leave because I've come to appreciate and depend on the support that I get from everyone. So, you may start here because of the number on the scale but, you end making friends. Okay...I'm going to catch up in my journal and then back to the books! Have a nice day everyone! |

CAROLJOY - THAT'S AWESOME!!! OH yeah!! Doing the happy dance for you....!! V - I really liked the bionaeture pasta brand when I'm trying to go whole wheat but, a good friend of my swears by brown rice pastas. Now, I just use my favorite pasta and just watch the calories. The whole wheat pastas have a nutty flavor that gets in the way of any sauces. In my opinion, some things are better left as they are. :) Chris - Yeah, I'm with V - what part sucks?? kt - Hey, good job on last night! AND you got some extra exercise in! Yeah...I hope you see that drop in numbers! robinnadine - Welcome! This is a great place for support - I've actually hit below 200 but the support I get here is great and I don't want to leave. Everyone was nice enough to let me stay. :) Great job on the weight you've lost so far. |

| Good evening everyone. Well, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised but, I'm about 200 calories below my daily allotment and I'm FULL. I don't even want to snack. I find this very odd but, I won't stew over too much. Carol - You're almost there!....keep up the good work! Ginny - Wow! Great job on your loss - you should feel very proud of yourself. I would love to weigh less than I did in high school! :) V - Missed you too! Tab - Oh, I hear the motivation and excitement in your er...voice!! I'm so glad you found something that works for you. Keep it up! Chris - I was going to say the same thing about rockin. I chatted with her online late Thursday night and she did say that she had a ton of stuff to do before the weekend. So, she was probably busy on Friday...as usual! :) Oh, and yes, my body reacts to sodium by getting puffy and retaining water....amazing how in tune you can be with your body when you pay attention. blue - Yep...summer session already. I had a two week break. Taking classes online they try to put an extra full semester into the year. It makes it easier for us non-traditional students. mabear - The salad spritzers are 15 calories for 10 pumps. At least that's what mine is. I've found the red wine vingarette to be good but, the asian silk one is only great for marinating meats. I don't particularly care for it on salads. Okay...I'm gonna try to sleep....so, I'll see you all tomorrow morning! :) |

| Hey everyone! I'm back from my weekend away! I logged on and saw that I had 4 pages to catch up with! So, now that I'm caught up....(sorry about the long post!) Smiley - I am constantly running to the bathroom. The other thing I've noticed is that if I don't drink enough water now, my lips get dried out. So, now I have to drink lots and lots of water. I've also noticed if I eat too many salty things, I can really feel the puffiness more than ever before! Mandi - Welcome to the club! You'll love it here! I know I do! I just recently looked at pictures of myself in high school and I thought I was really fat at 150 lbs. I'll be happy if I can be 150 lbs today! LOL Blueotter - I'm with you. At this point I'd love to be out of the plus sizes. I'm almost there. I would love to be a size 12. That's my ultimate goal. mabear - As far as the shopping goes...it's like what V said. Once you've lost some weight, you'll like all the little changes in your body when you try on clothes. I've been enjoying trying on all different kinds of clothes and realizing they don't fit because they're a little too big or a little too small. Either way, it motivates me to keep going. Jacky - Hello! Welcome! Parsley. Chew on a piece of parsley and that'll help you with your bad breath from the inside. blj - I didn't want this post to get really, really long so, I'm going to email you about my comments on Korean food. V - I always overestimate when it comes to eating out. That way I haven't missed anything at all. Everyone else - I hope you guys had a great weekend! My weekend was great! I did much better than I thought I would with the calories. I was within my calories except for yesterday. So, I'm very happy. I'm slowly learning to eat healthy socially. That's a big achievement for me. So now, I'm off to hit the books. Summer session starts today....check in later! PS I've lost 1.6 lbs since last Monday! Yeah!!! |

| Good morning everyone! Well, this is certainly the earliest I've been up in a long time. So, this is what morning looks like....hmmm...not bad. Today we're going to the in-laws and spending the weekend with them. They are early to bed and early risers so, I figured I'd shake up my sleep schedule a little. I'm more of a night owl instead of an early bird. So....let's see....what I've missed since the last time I was here.... rockinmama: Thank you, thank you...! Hubby was swooning before and swooning even more...and so full of lovely compliments! blueotter: It's about the only place you can notice the difference. I'm not as puffy as I was before but, small changes elsewhere...well, except my chest. It shrunk a lot. I might as well wear training bras at this point! :) I'm glad that you love your new healthier lifestyle. I enjoy the way I'm doing it now too. However, it's not for everyone. So, if it's working for our co-worker another way, good for her. It's good you didn't say anything, there's nothing like a motivation killer than someone disagreeing with your method - even if it's with good intentions. kt: Wow! Good for you! I'm not motivated enough to something like a triathlon but, lots and lots of kudos for you. Perhaps you should plan a light dinner for the nights you workout with your team. A salad or something like that. tab: You have a house full with kids, dogs and cats! I totally understand what you mean by saying he was your kitty. Well, you'll have to post some pictures of your new kitty. I love puppies and kittens...pretty much anything that's baby. I'm sorry to hear your son is sick while on his class trip, I hope he gets better to enjoy the rest of his trip and it must be reassuring to know that he is in the hands of capable people. So, Little Miss Debbie gotcha again last night?? I should go punish her! Leave Tab alone! LOL.... Everyone have a nice day, weekend if I don't make it back on today.....! Be back on Sunday. |

| I can try to help all of you with your budgeting but, only if it's related to food. I used to work in a food co-op a part of my job was to give tasty food suggestions to people with very low budgets. Thanks for all your compliments on the photos. I couldn't believe it myself when I saw the difference!! I feel good...! mabear - I used to sleep through super loud alarms!! No suggestions here. Diz - I think it's important to allow yourself a treat everyone once in a while as long as you make room for them in your calories. If you are really strongly craving something, you should have a little just to fill the craving. kt - You can do it!!! Let us know how your first practice goes. Ginny - Awww...you are a sweetheart!! We're all here for eachother! :) ell-bell - I highly recommend the pictorial weight loss record. You won't believe how much of a difference just a few pounds make. I didn't think 10 lbs. was that noticeable but, when you have a picture to compare it to....there is!!! |

| bqueen - Oh, I hope you feel better! $10 until monday eh?? and you're sick....I think ramen noodles will hold you through. You can buy like 4 of them for $1 so, buy a few dollars worth ($2). I would by a dozen eggs $2 -3 and some veggies like carrots ($2), mushrooms ($3), green onions ($1) and celery ($2) - whatever your budget will allow you. When you make the ramen noodles leave the broth in it and add just a little bit of each veggie cut up and crack an egg into it (protein). Throw in the noodles once the veggies have softened a little. Not the healthiest meal but, cheap, filling, easy on the stomach and wallet. Remember to drink lots of water because they are high in sodium. Or if you want to skip the noodles, buy some chicken broth powder or cubes and rice and the veggies and make your own soup to last you until Monday. I lived on ramen noodles when I was college, except, we ate like 2 packages at a time and after a night out at the bar, they went great with pizza and chicken wings. Yep...freshman 15 and then some! Oh, I don't even want to think about it!! Good luck...I hope that gives you some ideas...! Oh, I couldn't help it but, I did a before and after comparison and wow, my face has changed! I've posted the photos if you guys are interested! :) |

| PJ welcome! This is a great site. I've been here since March 14, 2007 and I've lost 17 lbs so far. My first goal was to lose 15 lbs by June. Perhaps you'll want to break up your goal and take it in small steps so that it doesn't seem so monumental. Maybe for the first month learn to eat healthier and staying within a certain amount of calories and then say 10 lbs goals at a time. It'll make it much more manageable. I love Jazzercise. I used to take the classes but, I moved and haven't found a class yet. I'm going to look into finding one very soon. It really is a total complete workout. Good luck! |

| Hello Everyone! I'm back just for today. It seems everyone has been busy! Stephanie - Welcome! The first few weeks of starting a new healthier lifestyle is the toughest. Even after you've started it's a struggle. I struggle every day. Having the support group really helps. Everyone here understands where your feelings are coming from. We've all be there! Ginny - That is horrible about that worker and your son! I can't believe that a person can consciously do that to another human. I hope the investigation goes in your son's favor. Dream - I found that cooking at home is much more cheaper than buying prepared foods. I always keep cut up carrots and celery in the fridge. At first I used to buy baby carrots. Then, I started buying regular carrots and taking the time to cut them up. I'm having a hard time switching from bagged lettuce to heads of lettuce. The hardest part for me was switching from my usual intake of high calorie, high fat items that my palate had become accustomed to. Now, when I eat something, I literally taste all the grease in it and it totally turns me off. Don't get me wrong, I still crave it but, not as often. Carol - Almost 50 lbs! That's great!! Keep up the good work and you'll hit your number. I'm proud of you! Blue, V, Chris and everyone else! Great job on your losses as well...! Did I forget someone?? I'm sorry if I did....keep up the good work! Well, yesterday we took another day trip and visited the in-laws. We had such a great time. I did really well with my calories. I turned away beer and wine and bread and only went 32 calories over for the day. (Goal 1500). So, I'm pretty happy about that. Tomorrow, we are headed back to the in-laws to help them with their tag sale for the weekend. I suspect it will be a struggle for me keep within my calories but, the 1.4 lbs I just lost will be a great motivator! Alright...have to go run some errands....no shopping today just groceries...ehehehehe.....check in later if I have time! |

| Good morning everyone! I'm here...I was feeling so happy that I ate my way through the weekend. I did gain back a little bit of weight but, I'm still under 200. Only by a little....right now, I'm 199.8. I'm pretty sure that it's a lot of water weight gain. I can feel the puffiness in my fingers and toes. Last night I checked in and read everyone's posts. Thank goodness! It re-focused me and today, I'm back to my oatmeal and yogurt. I plan on running some errands a little bit later today and that'll be good for an exercise. Yesterday, I ate a lot of junk but, I did also spring clean my house. I was a bit more active yesterday than I would normally be so, I logged the activity. I'm so happy to see all of you guys doing well! I'm very proud of everyone...I"ll check in later! |

I get up in the morning...er..mid-morning and check in. Then before lunch I check in, after lunch I check and .....anyways you guys get the idea. Thanks to everyone for the congrats! I have to say it feels great that I did it. Now, I have a whole new goal. A little at a time! dreamcruz - Great job at on 20lbs! I can't wait until I hit that mark myself! 20 - 16 ox bottles of Aquafina! Wow! That's a lot....! Thank you sooooo much for starting this thread. kt - Sorry to hear that your tailbone is still bothering you. You banged it up really good, eh? Perhaps some water aerobics will help with the pain and get you started in training for the triathlon. BTW, I commend you for doing that! I don't even have the ambition to do the nasty e-word half the time. I have to trick myself by going shopping. Hahahaha! barney - Welcome!! We're here for ya. A bqueen said, I find the journal and foodlog very helpful. When I start seeing the numbers add up it definitely deterrs me. Tab - Good for you for getting back on track!! Rockinmama - :) red - Welcome! It's a great site, you'll love it here. As for Meridia, I don't know much about it but, I was on phentermine for a while. It was great because I wasn't doing much and lost 40 lbs. However, it gave me a false sense of security. I didn't change my eating habits and I think I would have been more successful if I would have changed my eating habits too. So, remember it's just as important to change your eating habits too. Oh by the way, once I stopped taking phentermine, I gained back the 40lbs. and an extra 30 lbs. to boot! blj - I bet it is all the extra water weight from the salt. Boy, I've learned so much about salt from this site. Just keep chugging that water! ginny - The first thing that came to mind for me about your symptoms is the way I feel when my sugar gets too low. I'm pre-diabetic and have to watch myself. If I go tooo long without eating, my muscles start to quiver and I have to get something to eat. So, I'm glad you had that blood drawn. Maybe you'll get some answers tomorrow. I hope it's all good news! ell-bell - Hang in there! You're doing all the right things, the numbers will catch up!! |

Good morning everyone! Rockinmama - Oh, I'm so glad you're not holding it all to yourself. I'm not a diet/nutrition expert but, based on everything I read, I think your body gained weight because your prior levels of calories vs. output were sooo big. I think your body was in starvation mode. So, everything you are now eating your body is holding onto in case of starvation again. Your body is in survival mode. To me you are an active person. I on the other hand consider myself very sedentary. I've been consuming 1500 - 1750 calories a day and still managing to lose weight. So, I agree with V, try to get a doctor or a nutritionist to help you out. Only they will have the real answers. Don't give up!! You've kept me going! blj - Awww...you're such a sweetie. All of you guys are my inspiration! I'll check in later! |

| ell-bell - Thanks for idea! I thought of those but, are they really any good. They just don't look that appealing to me. What do you guys think?? Which of those 100 calorie snacks are the best?? ginny - 38 acres!! Wow! A friend of mine just bought 80 - something acres. She said she still hasn't seen all of it yet. That is sooo much land. I know she keeps busy either working on her house or on the property. Had a good night! Re-discovered frozen yogurt. I have a 2 tbsp cookie scoop so, I had two scoops today! Yeah!! Only 50 calories. It was nice to have something ice cream like. I have a feeling this little scoop is going to become my new best friend! |

| Oh, I completely forget to tell you guys...the whole reason why I signed on.....hehehehehe....I was just so excited about everyone's successes, I forgot to mention my own... Today, I was out running errands....again. Smelling all of that yummy food coming from nearby restaurants made me really hungry. I was starving again and found myself in the same predicament as yesterday. Except today, there was a health food store nearby and I stopped in grabbed a bottle of water and handful of smoked almonds from their bulk bins. I ate that until I came home. On my way home, I realized...duh! I can do that anytime, I don't always have to be near a health food store. Those convienent stores always have bottled water and some kind of packaged nuts. Anyways, the success for today is control. I had some control today and not to mention pee-ing everywhere I go because I've been drinking lots of water today! Alright...I have to go out and run the last of my errands...jut had to share that with you guys! |

Wow! So many great successes!! I'm proud of all you guys. bqueenme - Great job!! I totally know how you feel. I'm having the hardest time to get rid of the last couple of pounds to get me under 200. Right now, I'm at 201.4. I've been bouncing from 200.4 - 202.6 for the past three weeks now. Someday soon, I hope to be under 200. ktcort - I was shocked that the chicken nuggets weren't worse. It was a nice pleasant surprise. I think I'm over fast food for a while. My tummy wasn't feeling good from my two days of bad eating. My husband said that our bodies were no longer used to the junk because we've been eating healthy stuff. mitzbitz - Welcome! I know all the happily wedded bliss pounds. Well, congrats on becoming a fitness instructor and make some time for yourself! ell - bell - It happened again today. I was out and was starving. Luckily there was a health food store nearby and I stopped in to get a bottled water and some smoked almonds from their bulk bins. It held me over until I came home to eat lunch. ginny - Holy cow! I had no idea you such a functional farm. I think it's great that you're trying to live right off of your land. Just imagine all the money you're going to save! Not to mention your part in helping out the environment. Great job!! I am impressed! dreamcruz - I'm glad you had such a good time! Tequila...I remember my days with tequila. Most often I ended where you did. Hahahaha!! I'm glad that you are not seeing the weight gain as a step back. That's great that you're right back to your routine. It's amazing how fast those few extra pounds sneak back?!? caroljoy - YEAHHHH!!!! I'm happy for ya! Keep it up! That's cute...I'm so excited I could PEEE....I'm gonna have to remember that one! Alright I wrote a novel.....sorry! |
