Just a quick check in....haven't even had time to read the posts except jcr right above me......

Work was nuts today....we have a HUD auditor in.....whoo whee.....everyone tip toes around him....except me....I ofcourse torment him. I actually think he likes it....and he now (after several weeks) knows my name. HUMMMM.....wonder if that is a good thing! (SMILE)

The hand feels better each day although I still can't get a tight grip or put too much pressure on it. I think the couple times in the hot tub helped....

Weight in was not such good news....I gained 8 oz. Not sure how that happened as I have been eating (drinking) gallons of that zero point soup. It may be the salt content...will have to check that out. I should have lost not gained. I am still wiggling around with those couple of pounds....up, down, up down but always within that 2 actually more like 1 pound range. If I ever get to maintenance I have that down pat! lol! I just need to break through and start losing again.

Well Andy is on his way home and tomorrow is a very early 5:30 am get up day....haven't had one of those for a while. I hate 'em. I don't have enough time to go back to bed and get to sleep...so I stay up. Then I am tired all day.....whine, whine, whine...if I could eat cheese I'd ask for some cheese with my "whine". (grin)

Gotta run.......

Anyone tried the Progresso zero points soup? I love the chicken noodle and the chicken rice. Did not like the barley so much....I am eating it for breakfast and lunch with my high fiber muffin at breakfast and 1/2 turkey ssandwich for lunch....I think I might actually be down some by Thursday weight in....I may actually drop below the 195 pounds that have had me in their grips for weeks and weeks....up, down, up, down, down, up.....geeeeezzzzzzz!

Everyone is doing so good! I am proud of all of us!

The hand feels a little better today although today you can see the bruising.....strange you couldn't see it before.......

The work front is still quiet.....both "ladies" (I use the term losely) are treating me like gold. HUMMMM.......may not be in a bad position to be in after all! lol! I think what I have in mind is called extortion though and I believe that is against the law! (You know I am kidding!!!!)

I got a new works person yesterday.....too bad she only has to do 20 hours a week. She is a gem......quick! I am lovin it. I may even get caught up before the next full inspection (in 4 weeks) We'll see!

Andy is home so need to gett supper on.........

BJ....FANTASTIC WEIGHT LOSS! You give me hope. It sure has been slow going lately!

Thanks everyone for letting me rant yesterday......the work front was quiet today. It was actually NICE! (SMILE)

The hand is feeling better but I am still unable to use my little finger much and can't get a good grip on anything.....no I did not go to the doctor.....hoping it gets some better each day. I actually think it helped typing today although it sure has been slow going...typing I mean. I did wrap it a couple time when it really started to hurt....now that was fun... typing with one hand and one finger on the other.....thank goodness there was nothing pressing like reports for HUD or something that had to be done fast and accurate. lol!

Biker.....just re read your post! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU TOO! and to anyone else I missed! Gotta run for now...........

Thanks Muns for changing the header.....

I have been struggling for 2 months...losing, not losing, gaining....the same 2 or 3 pounds.....hope I have finally had a break through.

I fell last night......so I am typing slow and pretty much one handed. May have broke some of the tiny bones in my hand....I heard crunching when I landed. I was walking up the side walk and then was laying on the side walk. (GRIN) Still don't know what happened. Would say I tripped over my big ole feet but my feet are the smallest thing about me......lol! I am using flexerall and taking some left over pain pills from a trip to the dentist a few months ago. Hoping by Monday I can type better (faster - since biggest part of my job requires typing) anyway if not better by Monday will have to go get xrays I guess.....

Just got a call (didn't answer it) from one of the fueding coworkers....this is going to be a mess. Long story short....about 15 months ago one coworker's hubby wrecked a golf cart while giving the young son of the other co worker a ride. Alchol was involved big time. The child was in the hospital for weeks and at first was not expected to live. The entire bunch continued to party together, drink together, etc....the state paid for the kids hospital bills and now the one coworker's hubby is being sued by the state. The had no clue until they received the papers in the mail Thurs. The momma had continued to party with them and even went on vacation with them a couple weeks ago....she had not said a word about legal action even though she knew it was coming....she is also sueing for pain anad suffering, etc.....Anyway that was what the blow up was about Friday....and of course I was right there....

I want no part of it and will tell them both on Monday to refrain from calling me to discuss anything.......

well my hand is swelling from typing so I better get off here and go ice it or something.

I hope to be on here more and participate more......soon....I really miss the daily chats......thanks for letting me vent.......

Hi kids....I can't answer everyone individually......so I'll hit the high places.....I am the YOUNGER ADOPTED sister.....Sis is 20 years older than I am! Close....Nope....she was out of the house and married by the time I entered the house. We really hardly know each other. And our differences are showing now that Mom needs attention. Andy wonders why I let sis walk all over me and I tell him it is because I promised Mom we would never fight (over her, her things, money, house, etc.....) As time goes on that is going o be a hard promise to keep. I don't think it is Mom that sees Sis as perfect but more that Sis sees herself as perfect. HUMMMMM....we all have our crosses don't we?

Munsey....if you see this I am at a total loss of 35 pounds. I just don't have the time to PM you right now. Work is CRAZY BUSY! In addition to the fighting amoung co workers. Since I am the receptionist with no office to go to and shut the door I am the one who gets caught in the cross fire and will probably be the one called into court when one decides to sue the other.

The family site is keeping me busier than I would like....actually not the site but all the emails for genealogy help and such. I am going to have to find someone to "farm" some of it out to...but some like sharing my materials and notes can only be done by me.....wow...it is expensive to send stuff through the mail. I must get a scanner so I can scan and email! Would it be wrong for me to ask for postage money? I usually spend $5.00 at a time when I mail things.... 5 once in a while is OK but more and more people are asking....hey I have an idea.... I think I will start telling people that they need to copy the material as soon as they get it because they are going to be responsible for passing it on to the next person....

Well I need to get a bill paid and then I am going to relax with a nice glass of white wine.....I have earned it!

My scales are Walmart cheapie digital that go into the 10th of pounds but I don't think they are real, real accurate.....

I want the WW scales for Christmas (Yes I said the "C" word! lol)

I love my pedometer. It has taken me a while to figure it out so I won't be posting exercise this week. At least I doubt I will. So far today I have walked almost 4 miles....which has me smiling....apparently I move more than I thought I did. I did talk Andy into stopping at a cemetery so I could get a couple pictures and we ended up doing quite a bit of walking over the hilly ground for about 1/2 hr to 45 mim. That was good! But I want to log a weeks worth of walking and any additional exercise and then set my goal for the following week above and beyond. I was going to use Friday's total steps for this week but did something wrong and didn't get the dumb thing reset and the total was all wrong....today I did it right! (SMILE)

Well I am supposed to be mowing and here I am.....on the computer.....gotta get done!

munsey.....its a .2 loss not gain! LOL! So now I am at 33.2 loss (SMILE!!!)

I may have found a way to exercise.....WALKING! (You's think I just invented that! I guess I really need a challenge....I did over 4,000 steps from about 3:30 until 8:30 this evening. Thats just my normal walking....nothing extra. I think my pedometer said it was a little over a mile......

I will see what an entire day totals tomorrow and then I will try to add steps (not sure how many yet.....yep I need a challenge to make exercise fun....hopefully this is my challenge......

It is almost bed time so gotta run for now.....have a great day tomorrow for all you early risers! (SMILE)

I skimmed through the posts for the past couple of days.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the losers....

and CONGRATULATIONS to all the exercisers

and CONGRATULATIONS to the quiters (smoking I mean!)

I had a busy day at work today and look for another busy one tomorrow...so I may be scarce until I get home to put up a quick post.

Our Genealogy site is doing very well with 35 family members so far! Sounds small compared to here but it is growing day by day...

And it is so much fun....ofcourse Genealogy is a passion for me....

Well Andy is getting off early tonight so I better get supper started. We are having a tossed salad and BLT's.

My BP is down to 110 over it was either 61 or 67......guess i need to call my doc. Since I am not smoking I think my meds may need adjusted! LOL! Before even with the meds I ran high....127 or even in the 130's over something usually in the 90's (usually high 90's).

Gotta get supper started........maybe I can hop back later tonight!

Whats for supper tonight gals? I have left over slaw and macroni salad...both Weight Watcher friendly if youj don't eat the whole tub...but I am tired of hamburgers and hotdogs....even though I have enough left to do supper tonight.....i have some ham left that I could grind up and make some WW friendly ham salad.....

HELP! I am cooked out......did too much of it the past few days....if someone can tell me how to post pictures I will post a few of the grandkids....I only took 80 some pictures! lol!

Hey kids......I have been on vacation but have been on vacation at home! lol! My kids and grandkids (2 kids; 5 grandkids) came on friday afternoon and left yeaterday afternoon! WOW WAS I BUSY!  We always have a 4th of July campout in my back yard. We have a pool and the grandkids swim and the adults sit on the deck and sip iced cold tea or water or soda, and later in the evening perhaps we'll share a bottle of wine.....we cook out every meal except the Friday night one and this year I did the Sam's club take and bake pizza (YUMMY although not so diet friendly). I provided most of the food this year though so I could have some control on how much fat and calories were in everything. Think I did pretty good. I haven't lost anything for several days but I haven't gained either so I won't complain.

I have been up since 5:30am working on the new genealogy site

http://www.exlinefamily.org/_XLINE/index.php

check it out.......you may be a relative or know a relative....pass on the link if you know a relative.......

Right now i need to hop in the shower and run a very fast errand and when I get home I am taking a nap....I am feeling very tired right about now!

Have a great afternoon all.........

PS I did read all the posts but am having a really bad fibermyalgia day and have really bad brain fog today....but munsey I do want to say congratulations to you......

and to think you did it without smoking or making bad food choices. I am proud of you. You know I am only taking the morning chantix....some one else mentioned they did that too....not because of the side effects but we eat supper so late and I really didn't want to add in that larger than normal snack so that I could take it earlier....I was doing fine not taking it until supper (which is normally between 8 and 9 pm....why take a pill to make me not smoke when I was going to bed and wouldn't be smoking anyway! So I just cut out the nite time one.....and am doing fine.....so my 30 day script will last me a bit longer. I will probably refill the script one time (and at one pill a day it will last me 2 more months).  Right now I don't feel like I need the pill at all but am not ready to take that chance....

I am not doing well this month either....I am skipping WW today....just too much to do getting ready for my weekend with the kids and I haven't lost anything.....haven't gained either but haven't lost. I will get back in the grove of going next Thursday! I have decided to eat and e njoy myself this weekend (will try not to over eat) and I will get in the pool with the grandkids andf exercise my butt off (and it will be fun)!

Munsey.........I am proud of you (and me!) We are doing great! Anyone else that is killing two birds with one stone (dieting and quiting smoking?...congratus to you too!)

Hi kids! I am back from my genealogy day...didn't find what I was looking for but did find some info for a couple other people and I got the digital pictures of the graves I wanted...so I am happy and tired....

I am going to pm biker with another hour of walking.....some of it on sidewalks and some of it on rocky, hilly land at the two rural cemeteries I went to. I need to do some exercise in the pool too as I had a......are you ready for this one? FOOTLONG with SAUCE for lunch! OH BAD, BAD ME!!!!

This has not been a good week food wise.....I am not a drinker but had two glasses of wine Sunday evening and another glass when I got home this afternoon! But, I am proud to say I am not smoking and really don't want one.

CONGRATULATIONS MUNSEY....I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT! NO SMOKING!!!!! YIPEE!!!

Bub, my pool is an above ground so I only have one water level to contend with.....but since I am short I have to do everything with the noodle.

I had a very busy day.....got 1/2 acre of yard mowed, a closet cleaned out, some shopping done and about 15 minutes in the pool. Altogether with the yard work, extra house work, shopping and pool I an sending biker a pm with an hour to start off the week. Wa Hoo! I am proud of that.

Now I have to run and unload the dish washer and get supper on....it is almost 9pm and hubby will be home soon...FINALLY!

biker.....thanks.....I always stress on Monday and usually post that I have gained then when push comes to shove for my WW weight in I have lost some by Thursday....so glad to see i am not the only one.....

I finally got my closet cleaned out.....oh how do they get such a mess! I am worse than a teen ager.....I now have a load of laundry going of stuff that had fallen on the floor.....i pitched a few too big things and found a couple items that I may be able to wear that were too small! Yipee! One pair of really nice jeans....

As soon as i take the trash out I am going to start to mow.....it is pretty cool out still so it should be enjoyable.

I have been working on genealogy some this morning too....waiting to hear from Andy's cousin about the web site he is setting up. He is still working on that but I have been gathering information that I hope will make my CourtHouse and Health Dept. visits tomorrow go quickly and smoothly. I made a list of everyone I want to look up and what records I am looking for....that way when I go into the Court House I can look for John Doe and Mary Smith's marriage certificate in 1867 and move right on to the next person on the list after I have found that one. And I found enough change in purses in my closet to pay for any copies I get plus! (smile)

Well I better finish up.............

Good morning losers and quitters.......Munsey you are doing great...my sister tells me my BIL who has smoked for 60 plus years quit with Chantix too! AMAZING.....he is one I thought would never quit!

My goals this week....while I am off work on vacation but at home is:

  1. at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes in the pool every day except Tuesday when I will be walking cemeteries....but still would like to get in the pool if there is time
  2. eat better....I have slipped some this past week and need to get back into the swing of things before the campout or I will have pounds to lose....
Does anyone else find that they weight more on Monday than any other day of the week? I must eat more and exercise less because every Monday morning I am just appaled at the scales but usually by Tuesday they are back down and by Thursday I am usually showing a loss......whats up with that?

Have a great day...I will be popping in and out all day as inbetween cleaning closets and mowing I will be working on the genealogy website.......

Munsey,

Do you find that you are not snacking as much since you are not smoking? I am findig that...I guess it is the food, smoke connection. When you quit smoking you lose that connection too and don't want to snack as much.....

Yesterday was our 12th anniversaary....we went out to lunch and I was bad, BAD, BAD, but thats OK as I know I can be good, good, good the rest of the week. I don't worry so much about a bad day as I used to.

Hope all is well in the flood areas. I have a cousin that is also near that area.....

Well, it is time to shower and get my day started....I am lazy on Sunday's.....been up since before 6am but am still not showered and dressed ant is is after 1pm!

Well my exercise fell to the way of the storms and I am not feeling good about my eating today. Can't put my finger on where I went wrong but feel too full tonight if that makes any sense. I am still really wanting to eat, eat, eat and I know it is because I am not smoking. I am drink tons and tons of water though.....enough that I have clear urine......which is what Dr. Oz says you should have. Probably shouldn't admit this but I think it is a first for me....

Ok on to something different....I love to dance and have tons of 50's CD's. I guess I need to get them out and dance to them when it is to stormy to get outside. I have actually thought about it but just don't do it......

I just checked my email.....sent out the first monthly newsletter (to cousins and extended cousins) and have got some wonderful responses....I think we will have a croud next year. I am going to forward them to Pam, my cousin in crime.....we plan the reunions each year....I know she will get a kick out of them. I am excited already....a year in advance. Won't it be wonderful to meet new relatives....I love genealogy.....

Gotta run....Andy goes in early again in the morning so I want to get his lunch packed tonight and i still have the supper mess to clean up. YES I CAME TO THE COMPUTER BEFORE CLEANING UP! Bad ME! lol!

I got this from the WW site.....

Killer Pasta Salad

4 Servings

Core count 2 points for whole recipe for pepperoni; 3.5 points on Flex

Salad Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups cooked whole wheat spiral pasta
2 cup broccoli, blanched, cut into bite sized pieces
1 small zucchini, halved lengthwise and sliced
2 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
1 oz. black olives, sliced
2/3 cup carrots, thinly sliced
1 small jar whole mushrooms, drained
3/4 cup garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
1 oz. Hormel turkey pepperoni slices, quartered

Dressing Ingredients:
1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp. fresh basil, chopped, or 1 tsp. dried
granulated garlic, salt, and fresh ground pepper to taste.

Combine salad ingredients in large bowl. In small bowl, whisk together dressing ingredients. Pour dressing over salad and toss to mix.

You can substitute another bean for the garbanzos and also add just about any other veggie that you like if you want. It is also at its best the same day it's prepared.

Red, White & Blue Dessert

Yields 8 servings

Core Recipe, 1 point on Flex

1 cup boiling water
1 pkg. (4-serving size) sugar-free Jell-O gelatin, any red flavor
1 cup cold water

1 cup fat-free plain yogurt
1 cup skim milk
2 cups blueberries, fresh or unsweetened frozen

Stir boiling water into gelatin in medium bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water. Pour into 13x9-inch pan. Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Cut gelatin into 1/2-inch cubes.
Combine yogurt and milk and stir until smooth. Add instant pudding mix and stir vigorously for 2 minutes. Chill for at least 10 minutes.
Reserve 1/2 cup pudding for garnish. Layer blueberries, remaining pudding and gelatin cubes into 8 clear dessert glasses (or clear plastic cups). Garnish each dessert with 1 Tbsp. reserved pudding.

Well there are too many posts to answer individually????.so???

  1. Welcome to the newbies??..
  2. WOW we had a exercise success?...I am amazed that I hit 205 as I wasn?t keeping track. Biker?..should we send you a private message with the exercise updates?..that might make it easier for you??.
  3. Smoking??I?m not! Haven?t had even a puff since Wed. or Thurs. of last week. Not that I haven?t thought about it but I will not buy a pack for a puff?..when I finally got the nerve to pitch the partial pack I had, I vowed no more.  Munsey hang in there?.and let the pills do their thing and don?t fret?.but remember that you do have to use some will power too?..just not NEARLY as much as if you didn?t have the pills. There was 1 person smoking at the reunion and I thought?.you know last year I would have been over there in the hot sun away from everyone else smoking with her. I was really proud to be a non smoker!  As for the ?green apple trots? (LOL! I never heard it put quite that way) but no Chantix works the opposite on me and I have even had to take a laxative a time or two. They bloat me horribly. Are you having the dreams yet? I thought I was going to pass that one up but NOPE?.they started last night and are wild, crazy and very vivid?..for example: Andy left for work at 6am this morning so I got up at 5 and finished packing his lunch and made the coffee, etc and then lay down on the sofa to finish sleeping until 7am. I dreamed that someone had broken in the house and was stealing Andy?s HUGE recliner. (It is a wing back with claw feet and very heavy) The person stealing it had it on his head and was running out the door. (Now this chair would have to be maneuvered out the door and no way could you carry it over your head) There was a little kid running after him and I grabbed the kid and told the man when he put the chair back he could have the kid back! Wild. Then I woke up! Wondering what tonight will bring!
  4. Supper tonight is going to be wilted lettuce and ?fried? potatoes and a BLT.
  5. Breakfast was the usual muffin with pbutter and all fruit.
  6. Lunch was ham and cheese, ½ serving of chips, and a strawberry, banana 100 cal whip of some kind. It was good. And I have strawberries and grapes to snack on.
  7. Exercise ?goal? for tonight is to work ½ hour in the yard and then exercise in the pool for ½ hour. If Andy (hubby) gets home early all that will fly out the window probably!

Good morning Kids!

My internet was down last night at home and I wwent through more withdrawal than with the cigs.......which after lighting one and then putting it out last night I threw the rest of the pack away. I won't spend the money on a new pack so guess I'm completely done! It scares me a little bit......

I exercised my butt off last night (then couldn't get here to tell about it). My pool is a 24 foot above ground and it takes me 50 steps to walk all the way around it once. So I did 500 steps but that didn?t seem to be doing anything for me so I did some jogging?.this old, fat broad really needs to work out! I could only make it around 4 times I think jogging. Then I got the noodle and did some standing exercises, then some biking exercises, then decided to walk some more but pushed the noodle in front of me for resistance?..did 250 more steps that way. Then swam for a few minutes. I think all in all I did a total of about 45 minutes in the pool plus the 15 minutes I did walking in the grocery. So put me down for an hour yesterday!

I will be back later to respond to everyone.......right now I need to get some work done! LOL
