| hey seatownchick... i have ALMOST the same stats as you except i am 23 years old, 5'3" and around 125 lbs. I am trying to get to around 110-115. I am also very petite, i have an unusually small bone structure. I have gone down to 118 lbs but i starting eating unhealthy and school got in the way. I was around 152 lbs almost a year ago .. i have not gotten to my goal weight and this summer i want to wear a two piece without being too self concious. I have cut out all bad carbs from my diet, saturated fats, fast food, chips etc, i dont drink any soft drinks, i try to have smalll meals every 3 hours, if i am not hungry i have a small snack. i am exercising atleast 5 hours every week with 2 hours of strenght training and 3 hours of cardio. I have just started this week so i hope this is going to help me get to my goal weight. I really need a weight loss buddy who will push me a little if i get discouraged and/or need motivation. Let me know if your interested. |

| everyone has cellulite... even scarlett johanson has cellulite... I KNOW SHOCKING!!! Their was a picture of her at some reebok thing and she had a mini dress on with amazing amount of cellulite on her thighs.. SO, i say dont worry about it... BUT, i agree with the people who say that working out does help REDUCE it!! When i was working out and doing a lot of running and weights, my cellulite completely disappeared but now that i dont do weights anymore, it hasnt come back full fledged but their are some dimples that have returned!!! |

| hey andraa, if you are really worried about having good carbs which are called "complex carbohydrates." I think you should follow a Glycemic index.
Bananas actually are good for you as they have a GI of 51 which is pretty low. It keeps you feeling full and gives a boost of energy as hairgurl said. Carbs are important for you as you get most of your energy from them, just dont have white rice, pasta, pineapples, grapes etc. Avoid these as they are full of sugar. Also, i think your carb intake is too low for a healthy diet. You should atleast have 40-50% of daily nutrients from whole grain and whole wheat carbs, fruits, vegeatbles. here is a link to a GI chart: http://www.bodyforlife2.com/glycemic.htm LEt me know if you have any questions. |

i love cookies and just reading about it had me craving one. :P Before i seriously started counting my calories, i did this once, but had a whole pack of chocolate waffers with about 24 in them while studying for my midterm. I didnt read labels then but i just found out while grocery shopping that 2 wafers have 60 calories... go figure ... that adds up toa grand total of ... 720 .. whopping 720... |

| mumblingfool, I dont think their is any one exercise that will make you lose your fat on the stomach. My personal trainer told me that usually the tummy area fat is the last place that a person looses fat on. You can weight lift and try to tone the tummy muscles all you want but cardio and toning are going to work together to make you lose that fat. Also, i think you shuld not focus on one area, the tummy fat is going to go slowly. |

| dziewcyna, i doubt these are the ACTUAL weights of the actress's.
Also, i dont believe that Scar Jo is 115. She would look like a stick if she were 115. I think she is probably around 130-135 which is a healthy weight for her height. I think we need more celebs like her who embrace their bodies!! |

| The thing is doctors dont pay attention to the patients body and why its doing what its doing. Birth control pill is not a good idea to regulate your periods because it does not solve the underlying problem. If and when a person with irregular periods on birth control pill try getting pregnant, it is difficult because the ovulation is messed up since your body was relying on the pill and off the pill you go back to the same irregular cycle!! I am going to advice you to go ask your doctor why your period is not regular and ask for a way that you could contribute to your health. |

| hey rockinmam, the thing is i dont get time to exercise everyday and i want to lose 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. I have just not been losing any weight which might be because i wasnt eating enough. I was probably in starvation mode. I am 142 lbs and 5'2.5 and i want the normal 120-122 Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! : ) |

you need to get a hang of yourself, it seems like ur asking for attention. you need to seek counselling. 138 sounds like a healthy weight for your height. I have a friend who had lost 50 lbs this way but now shes becoming healthier. It's hard at first but it gets easier. if u need someone to talk to i am always here! |

| I have had 981 calories for the day with 59g Fat, 129g carbs and 51 protein.
I am trying to cut down on carbs and fat but if i have the salmon it would be around 68 fat and 61 protein!! i am eating less because i had light activity today since i have 2 major tests tomorrow!! |

| hey alicia,
I am surprised that sooo many people have the same problem as i do! Potato chips is the culprit that made me gain all this weight in the first place. i have gained 20 lbs in the last 2 yrs because i had chips as snacks. What i have done is have count down all my bad habits because me and my other friend have this bet that whomever slips from a list that we prepared together of what to eat and what not to eat... that we would have to pay each other 50 bucks to the other person and it exponentially grows so that we dont slip up... so if you slip once you have to fork up 50, then 100 then 200... and on AND we are not allowed to slip up on purpose that it will cancel out one another Also, you can reward yourself from restraining chips from ur diet by having a few at the end of the week like on sunday. This way you wont eat it when you see them around and wait till ur freebie day. I think it has worked for me, i havent had coke or chips in a month and now i snack on veggies like broccoli, carrots and cherry tomatoes instead. I have lost 5 lbs and now i am stuck at 140 but that is because i wasnt eating enough calories. |

I am trying to follow a natural hearbalist after having problems and gaining weight with birth control pills. I have had side effects with the pills. As i said, i am following a traditional chinese heabalist, with whom since i started has quite a significant effect on my periods. My periods never used to be regular, i got them every 2 to 3 months but now for the past 4 months they are regular. So i am happy with that side of it but i am going to go talk to my doctor about an endocrinologist. Thanks for all ur help and twindaze i am thinking of starting to follow the PCOS diet posted on your profile. I have been following something of that kind but my own version but with more fruits. However, i am going to change that around and add more vegetables!! |

| hey everyone, i have been trying to lose 20 lbs for the past year and a half but i keep yo yoing because i am a student it just becomes hard to resist junk food comes a test or exam BUT this time i am sticking to my goal.
I am trying to lose 15lbs by the end of may and 20lbs by the end of july. My weight right now is 141-143 depends on when i weigh myself. I started my "healthy lifestyle" two weeks ago and i was at 150 lbs and i have lost 8-9 lbs in the two weeks but now it has pleatued. I think it maybe because my body may have gone into starvation mode since i am eating under 1200 calories. So, i am just starting out again and trying to build good habits and eat proper meals and atleast 300 calories per day and exercise atleast 30 min a day. |
