Congrats to all the losers!

Suprisingly, I'm down 2 lbs. this week.
I was really dreading this weigh in.  I felt like this week would be a real test because I have been on vacation for the past week and went to my mother's house for a big Italian family Easter feast.  Not a very good environment to be in while trying to lose weight.  My whole family, brothers and sisters are overweight, some extremely so.   I love my Mom's cooking but unfortunately my whole family's answer to everything is eating.  My whole life it has been that way.  Win a ball game, eat afterward to celebrate.  Go to a funeral, eat afterward for comfort.  Looking for entertainment, go out to eat.  Every event in my life has been associated with food in some way or another.  Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to blame others for my problems and I take full responsibilty for my choices and actions.  I'm just saying it is stinkin' hard sometimes to get out of that mind set when that is all you have known for 40 some odd years.   Ok, done ranting now.  Just needed to dump that out there.  Thanks for listening.

Thanks hyechong and rockinmama.
Yep, it's a great feeling!  Makes me want to hurry home and ride my bike some more.  I don't want to over do it and burn out cause I know it will take a long time to reach my goal but I want to get back out there while I'm still motivated.

Don't fret over 1lb Serena.  It could easily just be water weight or a numdred other things.  Keep making the good food choices and you'll be back on track.  Besides, sometimes those evil scales lie just to mess with us :)
I know mine does.

Thanks for all the welocme messages.  For those that referred to me as "Angel" it's actually "Angelo" but hey, I've been called worse :)

Rockinmama - Thanks for the compliment.  I try to be a good Dad.  I lost my dad at an early age (He was just 51) so it makes me really want to maximize my time with my kids.

Weighed in at 216.5 this morning.  That's down 2 pounds for me from last Monday, so I'm good with that.   I'm trying to remind myself it is going to be a long process.

Congrats to all you losers!  :)

ismytime - my wife and some of her friends are going to a Beth Moore conference in a couple of months.  They say she is a great speaker.  Hope you enjoy it.

Hello.  I'm new here.  Hope you don't mind a guy joining your little party.  I'm 5'6" and around 218 now, 42 years old.  Finding it hard to participate with my kids in sports etc. so I thought I had better get off the couch and start doing something about it.  This thread seemed like a happy place to start so here I am.
