| Wow, I am so surprised by some of the comments...there is never a valid excuse for abuse in any relationship, it doesn't just go away on its own and it doesn't just erupt suddenly. Have you ever heard of the "cycle of violence"? Violence, whether emotional or physical, is all about power and control. I'll tell you right now, if it's a simple slap now, it will be a broken nose in a few months to a year. If there are children present, family services will step in. Get it under control now..abuse is not about jealousy, or "I love you so much I just can't stand to see you with someone else". yes, they use that line too. It's power and control, straight and simple. I have had victims with broken bones say to me, "he only does it when he's drinking". unfortunately, they tend to drink on days off, special occasions and some every weekend. Victims and abusers are not terrible people, they are people who need help. Many victims have a difficult time leaving, they need counselling to help them understand why they let it happen to them, help to get over the fear of leaving, and often a safe place to go when they do leave. Many abusers have been abused and need help as well. all I can say is, get out, get help. call a shelter for women who are abused, they often have free counselling and self help classes for women. |

| Our "Willie" is a 5 year old border collie/spaniel mix adopted from the SPCA when a puppy; actually, he sort of adopted us . We put a few dogs on a leash and walked them around the SPCA property. This little guy would sit on our feet everytime we stopped, as though to say we weren't leaving without him. He's still a cutey and somewhat spoiled. | |||

| I think the tea is a good idea. I would never order pills of any kind over the internet. Many of them are manufactured in someones basement, and they can be packaged to look pretty convincing. Be very careful. Sisters are the best! I have two, one is 63, the other is 53 and I'm 51. we still giggle like kids when we get together. |

| It's been a strange weekend here. Husband was on night shift all weekend so I didn't see much of him, daughter #1 was home all week and seeing friends before going back, her boyfriend showed up yesterday to take her back, that always feels wierd to see her driving off with some guy, daughter #2 was partying with friends who were home for March Break, and I worked this afternoon, so I didn't really get to see anyone most of the weekend. to be quite honest, it was kind of nice to have some time to myself, doesn't happen often. I even got time to walk 2 km yesterday and 3km this morning. the dog is losing weight! I'm not... :( at least I'm not gaining. | |||

| I deal with this sort of thing all the time, well, usually the situations are far worse than yours by the time I see them, I deal with domestic violence issues (victims) for the police here. I suggest you let things cool off, be willing to get anger management counselling if necessary and learn what your triggers are. Obviously something about this girl is an issue, or would it be any girl living there? It's good to be able to express your feelings, but hitting can lead to bigger problems. I feel for you, I know it must have taken a lot to get you to that point and maybe he wasn't being understanding, let things cool. If he loves you he'll give you another chance. In the cases I deal with, 8/10 get back together; works for some...but I do see repeats over and over again when they don't deal with the issues. | |||

| I have found that I really can't stand the smell of smoke now..makes it easier to avoid smoky places. When I get an urge for a puff, I remember all the money i am saving, how much better I must smell to those around me and how much more energy I have now. What I really relish now, is that I have control of my life back...no more standing in the rain or cold, no more hating to drive somewhere with a non-smoker, so many really stupid things that I had given control away over. Great to have my life back after all these years. Think positive mudgirl, think of al the extra cash you'll have to spend on yourself on this trip. Good Luck and have fun! |

| My husband and I quit smoking Monday January 29th and so far we have been doing pretty good. Over the years I have tried everything to quit, zyban, the patch...what I found finally worked for me this time was my naturopath and accupuncture. she also gave me these drops to help detoxify my body and get the nicotine out quicker. My husband and I went together, every week for 3 weeks. It was the first time I ever quit cold turkey and I didn't crave nearly as bad as the times I used the patch to quit. Congratulations to all of us ! it's not easy and we will struggle for some time. I think we should be proud of ourselves for everyday we are able to say no. I have been rewarding myself as well, that really helps big time. Buying myself a new outfit or something for the house, that's my smokes now. Good Luck! |
