| Ok, I'm being adventurous...I would love to join!
5 fruits/veggies a day. I'm not much of a veggie/fruit eater since most of my meals are on-the-go, so I'll hopefully make it! |

| It sounds like we've all been there at some point. To keep myself full on little, I always eat oatmeal for breakfast. Sometimes I'll add in some fruit for variety, but it is so very filling and a large container of the generic brand can last virtually forever and is almost pennies. (Not to mention you can make great cookies with it!). The chicken thighs/legs is a great idea too. I've bought the big bulk packages of chicken legs for just a few dollars, and they last for 3 or 4 meals. I would also recommend, if you use beef, that you look into buying beef directly from a cattle farmer/butcher shop. My uncle is a cattle farmer and we get a quarter of a cow (about 180 lbs. I think) for about $1.50 per pound. You'd need to have a place to store it, but I get it pre-packaged and frozen in vacuum packs so there's no problem of freezer burn. Yes, it's a big investment, but not having to rely on sales for 6 months (or more) and still having beef for meals is great. Plus, the meat is leaner, fresher, and doesn't have steroids. Also, my husband loves that he gets to indulge in a few T-bones! | |||

| SRD - I definitely know what you're going through with the weight up and down. Last week I was 141 on Monday, and by Friday I was 148. On Saturday it even said 147 the first time I stepped on it! (I didn't believe it so I weighed myself again and it was 148.) But this morning it said I was back up to 140. I think that with all the binging during the weekend I retain a lot of water and it seems like within a few days of hydrating and cutting back on the alcohol and salt I get down to whatever my actual weight is.
I hope by the end of this week it's down to 145! Though i doubt it. I've already strayed today and had grilled cheese for lunch. I've been taking a small amount of tuna with some light mayo and putting it on crackers for lunch. It gives me my protein and fulfills my salt cravings. But the mayo I know is just horrible calorie-wise. Anyone have an idea of what else to add other than may to make the tuna tolerable? I love tuna, but the canned stuff plain is not so tasty. Here's to staying on the diet for the rest of the night! |

| I'm new here. Been hanging around silently for about 2 weeks and finally decided to post some things on message boards. About a year ago I was my heaviest - 149. I have been up and down a bit, but in the past two weeks I've made it back into the 130's! 141 to 138. My goal is to get to the 120's eventually, but if I can just get under 135 I'd be really happy. | |||

| I think you need to reevalute your friends. Not only because they think you should give this a-hole a second chance, but because they are the one who set you up with him in the first place. Don't tell me that this is the first and only time he has shown his true colors. Anyone who could be a friend to him can't be a good person themselves.
Be who you are and don't let anyone make you feel bad for that. |

| From looking at your pictures, I wouldn't think you were that overweight. But I know it's hard to be young and see the scale climbing. My mom, the most inspirational person I know, was a size 22 when I went away to college, and by spring break she was a size 12. No operations, no fad diets, just frozen dinners (so that the portions are already measured out) and treadmill. She's now gotten down to a size 6 with a little more work and a tummy-tuck to get rid of the excess skin.
As far as the breast problem, I don't know if it's an option but perhaps a breast reduction would help. I know someone who was also very overweight and couldn't work out because of her breast size, but after her reduction she has been able to get out and do a lot more. I would really suggest walking. I don't like to run, and I don't really like to be out walking with people looking at me and judging my weight, workout wear, etc. So, I go to a local cemetary to walk. Some people say it's creepy, but I find it very peaceful. There are some cemetary areas where the gravestones are in the ground, so you don't even see them. There are hardly any people there, so no one will be "watching" you. Plus, I find it inspirational. I take the time to think about why diet/exercise program, how I'm doing, and where I want to go with my life. Looking at the tombstones also helps inspire me, like when I see a husband and wife buried together or a nice plot that a loved one has planted flowers on. Getting out in the sun always makes me feel better too! Good luck, and don't give up! |
