yeah I don't necessarily think it's muscle "mass" - but I definitely lose ground. maybe it is a female thing?

how many cals are you consuming in a day if milk puts you over the top? you probably need to find another sweet treat besides the sugary stuff!

I've just started picking up cooking light in the supermarket aisle...not bad, but also not my fave. I really like the cooking light COOKBOOK - ie just the recipes!

If you're eating healthy you'll probably just pee out the vitamin - but, obviously 1000 cal isn't enough. Your body needs at least 1200 to function well.

I don't dish out advice at the gym, and i certainly wouldn't want most people doing it to me (I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable) ...but people have definitely come up to me and asked what I was doing and how it worked (always flattering). But as far as my incredibly "pink dumbbell-y" friends go - they've noticed that i've gotten strong, and i haven't bulked up or anything. i think that's the only way to get the word out - word of mouth!

what's wrong with a banana or apple? pretty portable if you ask me!

what about an ounce of nuts? just enough to ward off feeling hungry, and good brainpower? i love walnuts, almonds, cashews, etc...

yeah i'm generally pretty good about the protein but I've never kept track of the fat...i should, i think that some days it's very little, cause everything i take in is low in fat

I've gotten a ton stronger since I've been doing real weights, but I don't look it. I still have the girl body and I definitely still have my ass (which honestly, I'd rather lose). The only way any of my guy friends believe I'm "doing anything" at the gym is if I show them, and it's even harder with the girls!

And yeeha - I definitely like the word "ironette"!! =)

Yeah...it's actually better this morning, which is funny, because I ended up having my cheat day yesterday (half an order of cheese fries ....ewww....but so good lol and a jr. milk shake) and the scale is somehow DOWN today. I think that sometimes I might not get enough fat, and then when I do, it helps?

The only tried & true way, I've found, is to prove it to them using yourself. That's the only way any of my friends have listened! The "Pink Dumbbell Theory" is SOOOOO annoying!

I've never eaten beef or pork in my life, and the smell of either cooking TOTALLY grosses me out! On the other hand, chicken doesn't seem to bother me at all.

that used to happen to me...then I started eating some complex carbs before i worked out (maybe a banana) and made sure to have some protein (about 15-20 g) afterwards. it definitely made me feel better!

I don't know about substitutes...but personally I like having a little bit of the real thing (full fat & all) than a lot of the slightly-less-fat and not-quite-as-tasty!

I used to look on the Clinton years with fondness as well...but he's more of a detriment, and I'm not a fan of the two of them double-teaming everyone else.

Also I think it's harder to eat junk if you PLAN to do it. If, one day, I just really feel like a chick fil a sandwich, I'll get it. I know that overall I've been good and it won't matter. But if I try to plan tha tI will get one, I freak out and don't want to eat it anymore.
