I graduated in May with a 3.9 GPA as well, and am also working a crappy job completely unrelated to my field (and living with my parents to boot, because I can't afford my own place yet). It sucks, and I feel your pain. I have no words of comfort for you other than you're not alone.

I have the copper IUD, paraguard, and I love it. It is good for ten years and you really don't have to do anything after you have it inserted. I highly reccomend it!

If you're having a hard time getting you calories, try adding a few TBS of peanut butter to those smoothies too, along with the tofu.

The exact same thing happened to me. Only I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years this summer, and still haven't managed to get those first few love lbs off. I hope that this time I am really going to do it. I've been good these last few weeks. I guess thats a start.

I know it sounds nuts, but I always have hot cocoa. Not the sugary pre-packaged kind, but homemade.

1 cup skim milk (protein) with 1 tbs unsweetend cocoa powder (antioxidants...as long as its isn't dutch processed) and a few packets of splenda (or sugar if you're not worried about the calories) and a dash of vanilla. I heat the milk, and then stire in the rest of the ingrediants. You could double it very easily if you want more protein. Lately I've been mixing some hemp powder in with it too, for fiber and extra protein.

I know it sound simplistic, but I love it plain with just a little honey drizzeled over the top. The honey hardens slightly from the cold of the yogurt, and it ends up having a great texture. Not to mention flavor. Mmmmm, i want some now.

Me too! I lost 30 lbs, and then gained it all back little by little over the last 2 years (along with a few extra pounds...). Well, here I am again trying to get back down where I was. It has taken me awhile to get back on track, but I've been good (more or less) for the last few weeks. I've gotta admit though, it is a LOT harder the second time!

I also have the copper IUD, and have had it for 11 months. About 3 month ago i had a very heavy/painful period, after many months of normal ones, and have had 2 periods a month before with it.

I don't think its unusual to have strange things going on every now and again, no matter how long you've had your IUD. If you are worried about it, you should at least call your gyn doctor, especially if you have a family history of ovarian cysts. I don't think it sounds like a vaginal infection, but I'm not a doctor, so don't take my word for it.

My boyfriend and I went to Peru a few months ago, and we absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it. You can go to the desert coast, highlands (Andes), and rainforest all in a few days and not even have to leave the country. If you do go, try to get to Machu Picchu, it is absolutely breathtaking. And hike up to Wayna Piccu while you're there. It is really a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Four days might not be long enough. I was there for eleven and would have loved to stay eleven more. Cusco is also a must, and it is near a few other Inca sites, so you won't have to pay for further travel to get there (you can just walk...not to mention Cusco is an Inca site itself). Lima didn't thrill me all that much, so if you're short on time, I'd skip it. It is purely a colonial city, so no Inca sites there.

Good luck trying to decide, and have a wonderful trip wherever you go!

I wouldn't be able to register for and take the class because our colleges are 5 hours away. Otherwise I would do that.

I already have a pretty significant debt thanks to college. My parents couldn't help me with it, and financial aid and scholarships only help so much. $3500 I figure is about another 6-7 months of payments, so it is worth it to me. If I were to do the same trip outside of college, it would be significantly more expensive.

I am not just going to Peru to go to Peru. I'm considering concentrating on Andean Prehistory, and would like to see the area some first. It is an educational trip as well, just not for credit (at least for me).

im 5'2 as well, and have been with my boyfriend for 2 years.

when we started dating, i was 139, now i'm 168.

woops.

it just kind of crept up slowly.

he used to swim in college and now cannot (hes over his 4 year limit), and so does not exercise at all, so he has lost a significant amount of muscle. it is sad, but makes me feel a little better.

we're both going to try to get back in shape starting this next semester though.

My nipples were very VERY sensitive for a few weeks after i went off hormonal BC.

Other than that, I felt happier, less irritable, and more stable. My mood felt so much better overall.

Edit: I forgot to add, I only had a 21 day cycle for the first 3 months, but it is back to normal now.

I currently have the copper IUD (paragard), and I highly recommend that you look into it if you have not yet considered it.
It is hormone free (so no weight gain) and statistically more reliable than having your tubes tied.
You also never have to think about it, and it is good for up to 10 years, although you can have it removed anytime before that.

Anyway, just an idea.

I eat a good dark chocolate everyday as well. It is high in antioxidants and flavoniods, and keeps me from overindulging in some other not-so-good-for-me things. Just remember, there is a difference between Hershey's and a good quality dark. Its more than just sugar and fat if you're eating the right kind.

I went to the midnight showing and didn't even fall asleep. That means it had to be a good movie. I loved the joker. I was never a huge Heath Legder fan, but he did an amazing job.

The batman voice was annoying however, I must agree. Also, I've always found the batman costume the most amusing of the superhero costumes. I think its the ears.

I haven't read through this whole post, so if im missing something or completely out of context, i apologize.

I am a white woman from a little mostly white town. I never even put a thought to black and white women acting differently in terms of being loud, obnoxious, sassy and so forth. I had white friends who were that way, and just chalked it up to a personality thing, not a race issue.

Then, I went away to college. I had 2 black roommates who lived in my apartment with me, and they fulfilled every stereotype you mentioned in your original post, accept for entertaining.

I was obviously aware of stereotypes before i went to college, but as stated before, I didn't chalk it up to race, but rather personality.

My roommates were loud and obnoxious and horribly bitchy to me. Loud music at all hours of the day and night. If i would try to ask them to please keep it down so i could study/sleep, they would laugh in my face. The amount of disrespect was unimaginable. I don't think they ever actually spoke a word, but rather yelled it in ebonics. After attempting to live with them (i moved out after about 6 months), I began to develop this idea of the "black woman", just as described above. This idea was not forced on my by television or music, but by black women themselves.

Ever since this experience, I have tried to recapture my open mind about black women (people), but I can't help but stereotype. Now, I know that I should not base my beliefs off of 2 women, but that was such a horrible time in my life, I cannot help it. I have had bad white roommates before as well, but it is different. And i don't chalk it up to them being white, but rather just ****. Why can't i do this for black people as well? I don't know. I'm working on it.

I really despise "black culture" now though. By black culture, I mean the stereotypical culture of loud music, dancing, and all around obnoxiousness. I hate it and the black and white people who partake in it. Acting that way to me just seems so disrespectful to others. Before I was indifferent, but before I wasn't immersed in it.

I hope this isn't seen as being too horribly prejudice.

my brother lives in rochester, and out there they eat these horrible things called "garbage plates". its a very appropriate name. Its hamburger, hot dogs, or white hots with home fries, baked beans, and/or macaroni salad slathered on top, and then mustard, onions, or hot sauce on top of that.

My brother loves them. I can't even imagine that tasting good, but i guess its a huge thing out there.
