| How do you get that many calories and still eat healthy? I am close to my goal weight and am also IN LOVE with going to the gym. I am eating 1500 calories right now, weight training 4 days a week and cardio 5 days a week. But I have a really hard time getting my 1500 calories as it is. I can't imagine how I will increase it. Any suggestions? | |||

| I have the same problem with get-togethers and family dinners. I feel bad if I don't eat what is served when other people have worked so hard to make it. So I just have smaller portions and eat less than I normally do the rest of the day. It's tough!!! | |||

| At the gym I go to they have "foam rollers" It's basically just a foam tube about 6" in diameter and 3' - 4' long. you just sit down, put the roller under your legs and roll back and forth. It sounds kind of silly, I know, but they work wonders and it feels great after you do it. I rarely get sore after using them. I'm sure you could find them in a sports and fitness supply store. | |||

| For me it is definetly WEIGHT TRAINING. I have not reached the weight that I had as my goal, but I am the same size as I was when I weighed 18 lbs less. It's pretty unbelievable to me that more muscle, less fat can make that big of a difference. (plus you can eat more if you have more muscle because you are burning more just by doing nothing) I love it!!! Suzana :) | |||

| I am an admitted chocoholic... I don't feel bad about it... I have chocolate everyday in the power bars that I eat for a snack. I highly recomend them. They are made by Apex and my favorite flavor is chocolate cookie dough. They completely satisfy my chocolate fix and I don't feel guilty at all when I eat them. I buy them from 24 hour fitness. I don't know if you can get them at any stores, but I HIGHLY recomend them. I never even think about buying a candy bar any more because I am totally satisfied with these...

| If you are getting something that means a lot to you and you feel comfortable with where you want to put it, then that is sexy. Confidence is sexy!!!
I have 2 tatoos. The first I got when I was 18. I didn't put a lot of thought into it, but fortunately i still love it.
My 2nd I got when my youngest child was 6 months old. It is a murmaid holding here baby and it means the world to me because i got it at such a special time in my life. I get compliments on it constantly. Make sure you get recomendations from others on a good artist. There's nothing worse thatn a poorly done taottoo...

| It sounds to me like you were just trying to have a good time with your family. We take our boys everywhere with us too. It sucks that you had a bad experience, but don't let it discourage you enough that you don't take them again. My husband and I mix it up... Sometimes we take them to things like concerts and parties and sometimes they go to Grandmas so we get to have time together.
I have 2 boys, 1 and 3....
I can imagine the stress you must have felt...

| I have a favorite breakfast that I have come up with. I love it so much that I sometimes eat it for lunch or dinner also. It easily keeps me full untill 12-1:00 and it is so easy to make...
1/2 c. Black Beans ( low sodium) 1/2 c. brown rice 3/4 c. egg beaters a little cholua sauce I just grill up the egg beaters and put them aside, then put the black beans and rice on and grill them up with a little cholua or lizano sauce ( if you like spicy). Then put it all together. It is a little different, but it makes me feel like I am in Costa Rica or Mexico or somewhere fun. Give it a try... 1 g Fat 25 g Protein 269 Cal :) Suzana |

| Water Tip:
I used to have a really hard time getting enough water. After learning that I should be drinking 3 liters daily, I now buy my bottled water in 1 liter bottles. Then it is way easier to know how much water I have drank. I don't drink anythng but water any more throughout my day. If I have room for a few more calories at night and have had my 3 liters of water, then I have a glass of juice or wine.
Invest in a trainer: If you have ever considered the thought of hiring a personal trainer I say DO IT!!! That has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. I have learned so much more about nutrition and exercise then I had expected. My results have been slower than I wanted, but I am doing it right! And now, 3 months into it, I am suddenly seeing changes that are much better than I had expected. These are just a few of the things that have made a big diference for me. I just love reading through the community section and learning and sharing with everone here. CC has made a huge diference for me also. Thanks for all of your advice! Good luck to you all! |

| When I have to get fast food I always opt for Carls Jr. I get the grilled BBQ chicken sandwich. It's 370 cal. 4 g fat, 35 g. protein. It comes on a whole wheat bun and is actually really tasy! I just get a bottled water with it and that is my whole meal. It's better thatn a lot of other options. The other place I will go is Wendys and get a baked potaoe.
I wish someone would starrt up a chain of healthy resteraunts with drive up windows... I have a 1 and a 3 year old... we don't do sit down resteraunts... |

| I have to amit, this is a really tough one. i have been waiting for someone to reply to you so I could get some more ideas. I have 2 little boys, 1 and 3. They both eat all day. My husband is about 200 lbs and 6'4". So he can eat a lot also. We really only have our dinners together so we almost always have grilled fish or chicken with veggies and rice or mashed potaoes. He spices his meat up how he likes it and I do what I can to keep my calories down. My kids eat whatever we eat most of the time so we are lucky there. Another thing we do is the boys have hamburgers or hot dogs and I eat veggie burgers or veggie dogs. We all eat whole wheat buns now. It's really tough though trying to make everyone happy. I'de love to hear some more suggestions if anyone else has them. Congrats on your weight loss! That's great! And I agree that it has been nice to see the rest of my family eating healthier with me too. Hopefully my kids will grow up with better habits than I had! Suzana | |||

| For me it was 2 pregnancies. I was able to loose all but 10 punds with both of my children (20 lbs all together), but I had also gained about 10% body fat. My problem was that with my first child I started to just eat whatever he ate. Chicken nuggets, french fries and corn dogs... I have made a change with my second child. He eats what I eat. Cottage cheese, egg whites, etc... Suzana | |||

| Hi! I am about your same age and wieght. I am 31, 5'7" and 147 lbs. I have been working with a trainer at my gym so I might be able to help you. Do you know your BMI? Because I think that also has a lot to do with it. When I started working out I was 155 lbs and 30% BMI. She had me doing cardio workouts at a heart rate between 151 and 161. Now that my BMI has dropped to 26% she has dropped my cardio workouts to 145 - 155. She said that the better shape you are in your heart doesn't need to work so hard. That is why the max drops. But I think you should be getting your heart rate up into the cardio range in order to get your heart in better shape. When I started I was doing 20-30 min 3 times a week. I am now doing 40 min 4 times a week. I hope that helps a little. I am no expert, but I have had expert advise. Good Luck! Suzana | |||

| Hi! I just went on a week long vacation to Mexico. I had been working out really hard and eating really well for several months to get ready. I had every intention of running on the beach every morning and eating only grilled seafood while I was there... yah right! I was on a steady diet of fried fish tacos, margharitas and beer for the whole week. My excercise consisted of walking to the pool, throwing out my towel and laying around all day. Needless to say, I was feeling REALLY guilty and worried about facing my personal trainer when I got home. Somehow, I ended up loosing 1 pound on that trip. My trainer said that because I had been working out and eating well before the trip my metabolism kicked into high gear. The day I got on the plane to come home I just told myself "I'm going back to reallity now" and that's excactly what I've done. I think it is okay to enjoy your vacations and eat what you want, in moderation, as long as you can adjust back to get on track when you get home! Good Luck! Susan | |||
