I'm 5'1" and 125 lbs. Originally, I cited my goal as 105, but the truth is that I have no lue what it is. You are MORE than a number. My goal could be 97, or it could be 112. You know, I'll just have to see. Here is a picture of me at 125: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=29njcqr&s =3 as you can see, I don't look so terrible! I think most of my weight is in my top, lol. the medically-suggested weight range for someone 5'1" is between 98-132. good luck to you all :) HOORAY FOR SHORT PEOPLE! |

yay for shortness! I'm 5'1" and 125 lbs, hoping to get down to 105 or whatever looks healthy. My highest weight was around 135, and it looked awful. My short-term goal is just to have my jeans fit again! (I think I'm about 3-5 pounds away from that :) ) when i reach my goal, i am going to buy these skinny jeans, probably in purple, in a size 0 or 1 :-D http://www.angryyoungandpoor.com/store/pc/vie wPrd.asp?idcategory=343&idproduct=93338 |

| Young Calorie Counters | What Do You Take For Lunch At School? | Jan 26 2008 16:26 (UTC) |
6 |
i ALWAYS get hungry during school, so I take a lunch and two light snacks. My lunch is usually often a wrap or whole wheat sandwich (either turkey, veggie, chicken cutlet, or the occasional PB&J) or a yogurt, and the snacks can be anything from fresh fruit, tapioca pudding, to applesauce, pretzel sticks, etc. And of course I always bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. MMMM! |

what about having wheat pasta, or pasta with a hebs and garlic sauce and something light like shrimp? or even eggplant parmigiana. and most italian restaurants will be happy to tell you which of their entrées are "lighter" than others. buon appetito, signora! |

DUDE, drummers are awesome! anyway, it does matter how you get your calories, certainly. Try to look for un-processed foods, those are the healthiest bar none. And about that cheeseburger and fries thing--yeah, only have it 1x/week or less, but why not make your own healthier style of burger/fries if you're having it at home? like, use only a little oil for less greasy fries, buy lean beef for the burger, whole wheat buns, or use low-fat cheese? little things like that will make a difference. good luck from freezing new york! |

| Young Calorie Counters | unhealthy? | Jan 24 2008 21:28 (UTC) |

yeah, there is.... you should really eat a full three meals a day. especially breakfast which is the most important. if you don't eat enough, you won't lose any weight because your metabolism will be WAYYY slowed. even if you arent terribly hungry in the morning, have a glass of milk and some toast or something to jumpstart your day. same goes for lunch. do yourself a favor and start eating breakfast and lunch! ps. hiii :-p |

well, first off, don't think of it as a "diet," think of it as a lifestyle change :) make sure that you find healthful foods that taste great, too. when you're feeling down, instead of reaching for the pint of ice cream in your freezer, imagine yourself lighter and healthier. You won't WANT to eat it after that. but make sure that you still eat your favorite "bad" foods in moderation once in a while, or you'll crave them forever. When you're angry sad etc, try exercise or drawing or listening to relaxing music instead of eating. i hope this helps :) i'm 17 as well and i know how tough it can be. ps are you a junior or a senior? (i'm a senior---class of '08 yeaaaaaa) |

| Motivation | Already fall within a healthy BMI and looking to lose those last few pounds and/or get in shape? | Jan 23 2008 04:08 (UTC) |
198 |
Hey! This is awesome. I'm Paige. I'm (almost) 18, 5'1", and 126 lbs (BMI 23.8). So, I'm certainly not overweight, but I'd like to get back the awesome hourglass figure I had about 15 pounds ago :-D. My goal weight is 105 (BMI 19.8). To reach my goal (which I plan to do by prom, which is in the end of June) I need to lose an average of one pound a week, which is more than reasonable. I plan to do this by sticking to a well-balanced diet of about 1550-1650 cals/day, as well as being active (dance, exercise, etc.) and drinking enough water. good luck to all of you! PS- LETS GOOOOO GIANTS!!!!! |

just go to a school with good campus food! y'all should go to Bowdoin College, cause it has the best food in the nation according to Newsweek.... i'm going to bates which has the 18th best college food in the world....we have a vegan cooler and zillions of healthful options! okay, all bragging aside...you could ask the cafeteria staff if they would consider offering more healthful meal options...chances are you aren't the only one who would appreciate it! good luck :) |
