I think you can hop on/off during the day, but when you do get on it, make them short bursts of intense exercise. I read that short intense workouts are really good for fat burning.

Fitness why do i seem to gain weight when I exercise? Oct 25 2009
18:27 (UTC)

I have been doing circuit training for about 2 months, I lost 4lb the first month which tallies with a daily 500 cal deficit but here I am at the end of month 2 and Ive gained 2.5 lbs

Measurements are the same but I know I am stronger, so must be gaining muscle. I hope it evens out over the next month.

Health & Support Weight and Menopause? Sep 21 2008

I am 42 now, last year I lost about 20lbs and then I found the weight stopped coming off even though I had at least anpother 28lb's to go. My cycle became erratic and then I started having Hot flashes. Its almost like the weightloss triggered it all. I knew Oestrogen was stored in fat cells mainly round the tummy

and that is where most of my weight loss came from.

Now the Hot flashes seem to be permanent although I havent reached Menopause yet. I find I have to burn many more calories to lose a single LB each week, this means Im actually taking in a lot less calories than are recommended on this site but otherwise I only maintain. Maybe I should put my age as higher on the tools page as the average woman at 42 wont be close to Menopause ?

Weight Loss Should I Be Feeling Constant Hunger? Nov 22 2007

I get extra hungry at certain times in my cycle but aparantly that's normal. At other times I easily live on 1400 cals or less.
If im going to eat any extras then I go for porridge as that seems to keep hunger at bay.

Im glad Im not the only one.It feels like weeks since I lost a LB and yet im counting every calorie and still exercising.
Like you I tired upping the daily calories for a while but that didnt do anything.
Now its winter and Im freezing cold at home (no central heating) so Im more hungry - I do a bit of exercise to warm me up but more hungrier after that.On top of that I gain 4-5lbs in my pre-menstrual week and it takes 10 days to disappear again.
Depressing isnt it.

Im going through the same thing. I eat 1400-1500 a day and havent lost any weight for ages. Last week I tried upping my calories to 1700 for 6 days but it didnt make any difference. Am 41 and getting menopause symptons which is the only thing I can think of that is affecting me.
Weight Loss women - pms and weight loss? Jul 06 2007

I have the weight gain yes, and mine usually lasts 2 weeks - period is often 10 days late too, but I dont know if its water retention or what- my clothes feel lose still so I cant explain why the extra lbs on the scale.
So here I am stuck in a premenstrual zone for 2 weeks weighing 6lb more than I did before. Its very frustrating as I cant monitor progress weekly , even though I know I have significant calorie deficiency to lose over 1lb a week. I havent been calorie counting very long so all i can do is hope this is hormone related.

I'm exhausted reading about the amount of exercise you are doing lol.
I have been counting cals for 9 weeks or so. I allow myself 1200 a day and if I burn off 300 cals through exercise then I also eat 300 cals. I have lost weight on a weekly basis doing it this way and can say it really works.
Fitness Which formula is most acccurate for treadmill/calories burned? May 07 2007

My machine doesnt have options for entering my personal stats so I have no idea what the 'average' setting is it uses.
I have got a heart rate monitor watch now for better accuracy.
Fitness lateral thigh trainer madness! May 07 2007

First I owned one called Twist and Sculpt - got it from QVC.However parts of it were snapping off and then I got a letter from QVC saying dont use it we are investigating. So I bought the other Lateral Thigh trainer (the one on TV advert) and got it very cheap online.

Having owned 2 different machines, I notice the computer on it says I burn less calories than my first machine and it also squeaks terribly.
I took it apart and greased it everywhere but still squeaks :(
If you google it you will find stories of chains breaking and rods snapping but apart from the noise it makes mine is ok so far.

I love the machine and spend 30 mins on it each day an certainly am seeing the weight loss straight away.Just hope it doesnt break!
