i'm insulin resistant and i also have candidiasis, so i should consume as few carbs as possible, especially refined ones.

haha, well, i'll be honest... i'm lazy and anti-social, so something i can do in front of the tv in my own home is very appealing to me :)  i'm hoping that once i get started and used to getting my heart rate up on a regular occasion, i'll be much more likely to exercise outside or in the gym.

obviously if i spend more money i will probably get better quality, but i am asking what the best ones in my price range are :)  also, the pricier machines are usually bigger, and i don't have much room as it is.  and i really just want it to kick start my workouts.  i don't exercise at all right now and i really don't want to be in public, so i want something cheap and temporary in my home, then i will go to the gym once i get in gear.

hey everyone!  i don't know if anyone remembers me in here, but i posted for awhile and then disappeared.  i got super busy with friends & family visits and the holidays and stuff and i REALLY got off track.  i put on a few pounds instead of losing and got depressed for awhile but now i'm ready to start fresh!  i bought a ton of healthy, low cal foods today and i'm feeling super motivated.  i really hope it stays that way!  and i hope everyone here is doing well.

dagicat - virgin coconut oil actually helps make you leaner and is a powerful anti-fungal, which is great for people like me who have systemic candidiasis.

OMG I am SO excited!!  I started out 3 weeks ago at 200 lbs.  After a week, I was only down to 199 lbs.  Then, the next week it was that time of the month and I went up to 202 lbs.  I was SO depressed bc I had been doing so well, so I just hoped it was water weight.  Well, I weighed myself this morning and I am down to 193 lbs!!!  AHHHH!!  SO happy :)  Have a good weekend everyone!  Try not to cheat too much! ;)

Kernal - I totally understand!  I never log my food on the weekends either, PLUS it's TTOM for me too!!  I am not going to weigh myself for this week either bc I know it's going to make me crazy if I do.

Here's a question for everyone, though...  I am eating the amount of calories a day that caloriecount recommended for my height and weight (1250), but I am NOT losing weight.  I read an article saying that if you don't eat your body weight times 11 in calories a day (so, I would have to eat 2200 calories, which is insane) then your metabolism can slow down by up to 45%!!!  Is it possible I am eating too FEW calories a day, and that is impeding my weight loss??  I'm so confused.

Bethystan, wow CONGRATS!!  That is so awesome :)

Cupid, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND!!  I always waaay overindulge in alcohol on the weekends, thus overindulging in bad foods too.  I've got to get it under control!

I have to post my weigh-in later, when I can get to a scale at my mom's (I don't keep one in my apartment) but I know it will be bad.  I drank too much this weekend, not to mention it's that time of the month and I'm sure I'm retaining a TON of water.   Blah.

Yeah, everyone have a great weekend!  I am going to have to be careful and not drink so much!  It's hard on the weekend bc I always have social events.  I understand how y'all feel about weekends, for sure.

I'm also going hiking in a gorgeous area with my boyfriend tomorrow.  I hope I don't die from the heat and being so out of shape!  I am going to bring some spirulina/nut/carob energy squares though (from whole foods) and lots of water.  That should help!  And it will be nice to get some exercise that is also fun :p

cupid: awww!!  congrats on the wedding!  that is so awesome.

bridgie: 3lbs in a week?  CONGRATS! :)

Okay so my stats this week are pretty sad, but I did cheat this weekend.  Mainly with alcohol.  Blah.  I find it SO hard to stick to my diet on the weekends, but it's easy during the week.

Starting: 200 lbs

Today: 199 lbs

Goal: 145 lbs

Well, at least I lost a pound, right?  I really need to do better on the weekends and also start a good workout plan.

Thanks bethystan!  Motivation is one of my biggest problems and having people being supportive and helping me stay accountable is awesome!  Anyway, like I said, I am 26 and I live in Baton Rouge, LA.  I graduated from LSU in Theatre in 2004, but now I am monitoring interstate traffic cameras, lol!  I live with my wonderful boyfriend and 2 cats.  He thinks I am beautiful no matter what, which can be both good and bad.  The bad is because it makes me lazier, knowing my weight isn't important to him.  But now I am ready to do this for MYSELF.  I'm so mad at myself for gaining all this weight back, when I had worked so hard to lose 65 lbs a few years ago.  But I just need to start from scratch, I guess!  My biggest problems are portion control and emotional eating.

Are y'all still accepting members into the motivation club?  I have a horrible problem with motivating myself and I thought this might help.  I'm 26 and I was always heavy up until about 4 years ago when I lost a ton of weight and got down to my lowest adult weight, 130.  Now, I am back up to 200.  When I went to the doctor a few days ago and she said my weight was 200, I couldn't believe it.  I always swore I would never let myself get heavy again after I had lost all the weight last time, but here I am.  Now, my goal weight is 145 and I'm 5'7".   Today is the first day of my diet, so I hope this site helps!!
