| I've been really happy with the Slim-fast Optima diet. I don't have any cravings, I'm full, and I actually eat more now and more frequently than I did before. I just eat a lot better. You can check out the website for the plan. I do think the shakes are better than the bars, but I do like the peanut butter chewy granola bar when I'm wanting cookies or something bad. I also cut diet coke out and believe whole-heartedly that that has kept my sweet cravings to a minimum.
I prefer this website to the slimfast one - there aren't message boards on the slim-fast one, but the plan is out there. My biggest problem is my dh keeps drinking my shakes! |

| Just checking in - been maintaining at 216 for awhile. I actually started back in March at 232 - did slim fast for awhile, then joined this site and have maintained more than anything. Which is good, considering I've had way too much social activity going on. I don't have anything planned the next few weeks so I'm back on track. At least I've maintained my loss over the past month! I'm 5'6" and trying to stay around 1400 calories a day. I still want to be under 200 for my birthday on July 30, which may be pushing it now, but I'm going to try. I beefed up my exercise routine (from flipping channels to walking) so that will help. | |||
| The Lounge | A question - what is a traditonal dish from your area? | Jun 21 2007 12:27 (UTC) |

| I'm from the South Bend, IN area and a regional favorite is the fried pork tenderloin sandwich. Take a pork tenderloin cutlet, pound it flat to about the size of a hubcab, bread it and deep fry it. I like mine with coleslaw dumped on top of it. We also have a large Polish community here and a lot places put on the Polish-style dinners (Polish-style chicken, Polish sausage, noodles, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy- you get the point). Indiana Amish country is about 30 minutes east of here so then we have that wonderful food as well.
The tenderloin thing intrigues me. Anyone have it anywhere else in the country? My father-in-law lives in Massachusetts now and he apparently can't get a tenderloin there so that's the first thing we head for when he comes to Indiana. |

| I've dropped diet coke again and my food cravings seem to be subsiding. My biggest problem is going out to eat = that's when I want the unlimited refills to go along with what I'm eating. I think I'll start taking the crystal light singles with me to restaurants, until I can get myself to the point where just plain water suits me fine.
newby1 - I posted another place about hearing about green tea. I'm definately going to try it! Which "style" did you drink Hot or cold - pre-bottled or do it yourself? |

| Hi I'd like to join this group! I'm 33 and my current weight is 220. My mini goal is to lose another 21 pounds for a total of 33 by the time I turn 33 on July 30, which would put me at 199, and be under 200 for the first time in 5 years. I think that's a pretty reasonable goal. I've been doing Slim-Fast and it's been treating me pretty good. I've been on every plan possible - here's some stats: Weight Watchers (lost 30 pounds in 1998), Jenny Craig (about 4 times, lost the same 16 pounds each time), South Beach (lost 20 pounds in 2004). Each time I have gained it back and then some, which is typical. I think that's why I'm setting mini-goals- I hope it helps me to maintain. | |||

| So i take it it doesn't matter what kind of green or white tea it is? One of my co-workers has been drinking the crystal light green tea singles in her water bottle and she has definately been dropping the weight faster than me (we've both been doing slimfast). Also, can you add sweetener to the hot tea or does that mess with the effect? | |||
