Well....I did not have those fears!! However, when I lost 80 pounds I found out who my friends were/are!! I felt FABulous and I looked even better!! Just get ready for the HATERS because they will surface.  Some people are so comfortable hanging around the fat girl ....it's easy because their looks are only amplified by being with a "fat and insecure chick." Trust me when I say the only thing that you will lose besides weight are friends.  Just know that you are fab just as you are....... you will only be smaller. The inside will not change, only the shell.  Love you a little more and embrace this process.

Well....... I never really have a problem eating 1000 calories!! LOL  However, I do have a problem eating enough calories to offset burning 900-1000 calories per workout.  I once ate a cake doughnut and still did not reach my calorie goal for that day!!

Maybe.  Depending upon our workout level and program.  I stay on for about 65-70 minutes, on random, varying between level 8-11.  I typically shoot for 5 miles/900 calories.  Alter your resistance level --try random, cardio or fat burn

im cramming for exams also....i study an average of 10-15 hours per day and i bring two lean cuisines, apples, light popcorn and granola so i wont be tempted to get pizza!

eat before you go!!! lol, i avoid them like the plague! i have no self control...maybe a little but.....yeast rolls and unlimited sweets hah. you may be ok if you go to a brazilian style buffet (really only meat and veggies) but Golden Corrall, forget about it!!

5 days a week i do:

65 minutes on elliptical level 8-11 every workout

20 minutes of weights 2 days per week

swimming 15-20 minutes 2-3 days per week

ab/obliques 5-10 minutes every workout

treadmill/stair climber 10-15 minutes 2 days a week

ready to start jogging outside when it stops snowing!!

yes, considering the fact that i have only lost 5 lbs since starting my program 12 weeks ago.  i'll try this method once finals and break are over.  trying daily not to get frustrated!!

i tried the master cleanse and it did not agree with my body. you can buy the pamphlet @ barnes and noble....etc. my friend lost 20-25 pounds on the MC and kept it off. personally, i eat every 2-3 hours so it was a shock to my system to not eat anything. the pamphlet will detail the initial side effects of the MC: like feeling sick/ill becuase your body is getting rid of toxins (I vomited as a result.) hope this helps.....if you take any medications the MC may cause adverse effects when your body releases toxins....good luck...i do know people who have done it successfully.

you will lose weight if you are not eating...period.....like any other diet though, it will come back very quickly when you begin to eat again

i am still trying to understand this!! i've come to the realization that i probably dont eat enough. manewell broke it down for me last week ......but still a little confused. For example: I burned 950 calories calories on the elliptical last night--so let's say that was generous and it really was only--900 and i burned 50 on the treadmill --so that's only 35 calories....then i lifted weights for 20 minutes -- 150 calories....not including ab work etc....my normal calorie expenditure @ sedentary is 2000, @ light 2300, @ moderate/very active 2600.......i've been eating more protein lately and have been feeling hungry more often. manewell please reply

i love the elliptical!! i burn 850 to 950 calories per workout. take your time and find the program that works for you. lower your resistance and try different types of ellipticals (my gym has 3) to find the movement you like

i use a waist band...but i  also do tons of cardio and various ab exercises. be careful with ab workouts that include weights or machine b/c u may bulk up.

OK, i got it.........however, i have to eat donuts and the like to get close to the calories i need to consume!! maybe that is why im not losing weight.

you may be able to do it....but you may sacrifice some of your vital organs in the process. i do agree with the other posts.....you should focus on making lifestyle changes-- not event changes.  the master cleanse diet flushes your system....but its unhealthy because you're not eating!! if u lose weight that fast it will come back twice as fast and your metabolism will be all out of whack!! good luck....

it really depnds on how much weight you have to lose...i pay $50 per month for the Y (swimming, racquetball, cardio machines etc). i am a student but i figure that i spend that or meaningless things anyway!! if you go 4-6 days a week it will be worth it!! think of waht you spend $2 per day on.....coffee, chips, soda, magazines etc.. it think it is an investment

hi manewell and nocturne...i too am confused about how many calories i should cosume per day

my stats are: 5'9", 200 lbs, bmr around 1400 cals per day to reach 170 by the end of september. i work out 5-6 days per week burning around 1000-1300 cals per workout. i dont understand what the by normal calorie expenditure means!! i am a student so i assume i am am sedentary even though i work out almost everyday. please help...i wonder if i am in starvation mode???

i would love to be a size 10!! i wear size 14 now but i am faced with being shaped like deelishes(from flavor of love) so getting into a size 10 in almost any store would be the accomplishment of the decade! wish me luck lol.

weight watchers does not focus on working out.  i was a member a few years ago...but stopped going. This site is much better b/c you dont base your caloric intake on say 25 points but instead base it on learning how to live  a healthier lifestyle. WW makes you dependent on them b/c they dont teach you how to live...WW never told me what my BMR or  BMI is just points....creating a dependency that is based on paying them 10-15 per week!!

to lose 50 lbs by september i need to restrict my calories to 1950 per day.  im about to start recording my caloric intake to make sure im getting enough food.
