| Sorry for not checking in before everyone, I couldn't find the thread! Sounds like it's too late for me to weigh in this week, so I'll wait for next week. Sounds like we did great! Does DDR count for cardio? |

| Hi everyone, I have lot A LOT of weight using ephedra--from 190 pounds to around 140 less than 5 months--no exercise, no calorie-counting. I didn't notice the side effects at the start. I didn't eat very much, and had tons of energy. I started blacking out when I got up after sitting down for a while, or after exerting myself too much. But really, that didn't matter to me, because I was losing so much weight. My friends kept commenting on how I didn't eat and how I kept blacking out--I thought they were jealous of my progress. Eventually I stopped taking the drug, because I started to get scared for my health. I gained all the weight back plus 20 pounds in no time. I couldn't lose weight no matter how I tried. I've now just seen the other side of 200 (198.6--Hurray!!) for the first time since I took ephedra--three years ago. In summary: Why not to take ephedra 1. If you're concerned about your health--it will cause blackouts, passing out, and has caused serious heart problems in otherwise healthy young people 2. You won't keep the weight off, and you'll likely gain back more--and fast (read: stretch marks). So even if you don't care about your health, it's not worth it. I've been there. I know that you probably don't care that it will affect your health--you want to be thin. And that the fact that you'll gain it all back when you stop doesn't matter--you want to be thin now, and you think that you can YOU'LL be able to keep the weight off. Think about it. In two years, if you follow CC, you could be at your goal weight--even if its 100 pounds away--and be healthy and fit. Or you could have lost a ton of weight, gained it all back plus some, have ugly stretch marks, have no metabolism, no muscle, and be starting this all over. |

| Last week's weight: 201.4 This weeks's weight: 199.4 Total pounds lost this week: 2 Total pounds lost: 11 pounds I don't get it. I've been religiously counting calories, working out, etc. and I don't get very far. I stopped logging calories this week (change in routine, I'm back to school) and haven't really worked out, and I'm down 2 pounds! (And not just today, I've been hovering around 199.4-6 since Wednesday). Anyways, I gotta get back on track, b/c even though I lost weight, I haven't been eating healthy. And I'm under 200! Hurray!!!!! |

| Weight Loss | Ladies how do you deal | Apr 26 2007 20:24 (UTC) |

| OK, apparently I?m the minority?but I lose weight easier during TTOM rather than gain. I think it?s because I?m not taking the pill during this time, which tricks my body into thinking it?s pregnant?does that make sense? Anyone else experience this? | |||

| LOL?I take one a day weight smart too. I get VERY nauseous if I take them on anything close to an empty stomach--managed to hold off puking so far, though. I need to eat before and after taking them. But I?m too cheap to switch J | |||

| Jess (2perservere) Current Weight: 204.4 pounds Last Week Weight: 206.4 pounds Pounds lost Week 4: -2 pounds Starting Weight: 210.2 pounds Pounds lost since challenge: 5.8 pounds What has been your biggest frustration in these 4 weeks? Weekends!! (and therefore weighing in on Mondays). I do so well during the week, and the weekend I always ?let go a bit,? as I?m hanging out with friends, family, and don?t want to be ?on a diet.? The calories don?t increase that much, but the food is usually less nutritional and high in sodium. What behavioral modifications will help you conquer this frustration and turn it into a success? Logging my calories faithfully on the weekend as well as during the week. Exercising a little longer on the weekends to make up for indiscretions. Drinking enough water on the weekends. Will you commit to these steps that you outlined above to yourself and this board?! Yes?it keeps me motivated. |

| My fav egg white recipe: (I'm estimating the amounts here, I just throw stuff together til it looks good--you really can't screw it up :) 6 egg whites 1/2 cup oatmeal Cinnamon to taste Cooking spray Beat first three together. Spray frying pan with cooking spray and cook mixture like a pancake--I top with a little sugar-free syrup and it tastes delicious! Sometimes I use packets of instant oatmeal if I want a little more sweetness--like apple and cinnamon or maple/brown sugar. My favourite weekend breakfast! |

| I agree with you all--I would have lost more (health-wise)than I saved if I bought those candies--which is why I put them back when I rationally thought about it. I suppose my "instinct" is to snap up a deal when it comes to me.
But my instinct is also to eat cheesecake when it comes to me too :) so I guess working to control my instincts is all I can do, and hope that one day my brain will register "unhealthy" rather than "deal" when I see a sale on chocolate. |

I ate out twice, went to a party and had two big Easter dinners, and I tried to make wise choices in all situations (I did have two small desserts, but hey--it's Easter). I didn't binge, because I didn't deprive myself. What could you improve on? I didn't work out enough, or drink enough water over the weekend. Goals for Next Week: WORK OUT. Keep up my eating habits. Lose two more pounds. Rid my house of all traces of Easter eggs! lol |

| Josal?it?s not the multivitamin that makes me hungry?I just AM hungry! lol. Since I?ve taken a multivitamin, the stomach growling is still there, but I don?t have the same hunger feeling that I used to. Sometimes if I let myself get too hungry, or if I take my multivitamin on an empty stomach, I feel sick?really sick. I?ve tried to take iron pills before and had the same response.
I?m not saying this is the same reason the others are feeling sick; there?s obviously many reasons for this to be happening. But trying to ingest your multivitamins with good amounts of food and water may help. |

| What kind of multivitamin are you taking? When I starting taking a multivitamin, I felt sick all day too, especially right after taking the vitamin (I take one a day weight smart).
I googled something like ?one a day weight smart sick? and found that a lot of people have the same reaction?could be the iron (I?m pretty sensitive) or the green tea concentration. I find that if I take the multivitamin right after I eat, and then drink some water or eat a little of something else, I?m OK. I still have the stomach growling but I don?t feel hungry thing sometimes though. |
