Hey, all...its been a while. I've gotten away from logging calories for the last month or a little more. Back to work at school and just BUSY. I've eaten like CRAP the last two months and the scale shows it. I'm at about 122 now...and I was at 118 about two months ago! Time to get religious again and snack on those fruits and veggies again. |

Hey, all. Haven't checked in for a while. Got busy with school starting up and having been REALLY bad about logging calories and such. I was so good this summer and now that I'm back at work...I don't have as much time. I've eaten like crap this last month, too...I've stayed right at 119-120, but that's okay. I just feel thicker around the middle when I don't eat as healthy. Anyone else ever feel this way? And the chocolate cravings are driving me mad. I have an open bag of chocolate chips in the cupboard that I sneak into everyday, just a tiny handful. But then I funsize candybars I have in my treat bucket at school, too. I suppose as long as I don't binge, I'm okay. Hope everyone is doing well...fall seems to be a time where we want to all bundle up and have comfort food...good luck everyone! Stay strong. |

| Hey, all! Weighed in for the first time in about 2 weeks and I'm @ 118...so down a little bit...BUT, I'm sure after my weekend of fair food and drinking, that is no longer the case. Give it a few days and hopefully things will be back to normal.....oh the temptations and the uncontrolable hunger you have after about 6-7 beers.....(sigh) :o) | |||

| I am in the same boat as you. Started about 150 a year ago, down to about 119-120, and I've reached by initial goal, but still not happy with my tummy and thighs. Having children really changes that mid-section. I have major stretch marks by my belly button and fat that looks like a doughnut around my belly button. I've been Jazzercising since May and that has helped tone, but I know I still have fat to lose, so I'm going to try to get to maybe 115 and see how I feel. That is clearly still in a healthy range for me (I'm 5.3), so I'm not worried about that...Other people have made comments that I need to stop trying to lose weight. But they don't see me naked. I'll never be able to wear a two peice suit. If I could at least lost the fat pockets, then I'd feel much better about myself. | |||

| Hey, everyone. Makingitcount wanted me to share what I've been doing to keep on going to reach my goals, since I finally officially reached 120 (I think--you gotta hate fluctuations). I just realized that I started this exactly about a year ago and I've lost 30 POUNDS! Yeaaaaah! My motivation literally is to eat healthier and try NOT to develop diabetes like my mom and heart disease like my dad. My blood work came back with flying colors and that is what continues to keep me going. Of course, another motivator is that I'm fitting into smaller sizes of clothing and my b00bs are pre-baby size (even though they sag to my belly button). Compliments from others make me feel great, too. As I'm sure everyone loves this.
Exercise--This spring I started Jazzercise and I really LOVE it. Its a fun way to work out and it keeps you going for a whole hour. I sweat my a$$ off and have fun doing so. I try to walk on nice days after I've dropped the kids off at daycare...usually for about an hour. Counting Calories--I've really been obsessive about counting calories. I usually go over the 1300 goal I set for myself, but what I try to do is just keep it under what my body is burning. I burn around 1550 w/o exercise, so I try not to eat over that on non-exercise days. On exercise days I may eat that, but always figure in that I have a greater deficit because I burned more through exercise. I have a spreadsheet that I got from someone on here that I revamped (because the one I got from her continued to lose the formatting). I simply input the calories consumed, add the calories burned (through the formula) to what I burn w/o exercise and mark myself in the green if I stay below what I burn and in the red if I go over what I burn. It calculates approximately what my daily weight will be and adjusts it accordingly to the numbers I put in daily. Right now I'm at about 20% weight loss and it feels great. Eating--I TRY to eat low fat, low cholesterol, low calories foods. I'm eating a lot more frest fruits and fresh veggies than I did a year ago...I try to eat higher fiber cereals for breakfast. I buy the baked or light (fat-free) chips...those I can't give up. And when I eat them I simply try to just eat the serving size. If I go over, I log it and count it like I do everything else. I eat desserts...I'm not that obsessive...you have to enjoy foods that you love. So when you want to make a yellow cake w/chocolate frosting or Special K bars for the family...you CAN indulge. Just incorporate it into a healthier lifestlye and not eat a whole row of Special K bars like I used to. My husband is now trying to watch the cholesterol and fat...he just came back with a recommendation from his Dr., too. He's also trying to quick smoking, so hopefully we're all going to be a little bit healthier at our house. Good luck to everyone...you CAN do it. This site is wonderful--it has truly helped me be more aware of what I put into my mouth. |

| Haven't checked in for a while, but today I'm weighing in @ 119.9---I think I've officially reached my goal. I've been really close for a long time, now I'm setting a new goal for 115. We'll see how that goes. It took me 3 months to go from 125 to 120. Hope this next five pounds will go a little quicker...I shouldn't complain, it could have gone the other way. I know what you mean about people thinking you are looking too skinny. If they could only see you naked with the rolls, stretchmarks and saggy skin & b00bs hanging all over the place! Problem with me is, I do have skinny limbs. I just need to work on the mid-section. They say--always the first place to gain is the last place to lose. And I believe it. I store my weight in the middle and its taking forever to come off. |

| Even though you are not providing your own food...make the best choices possible, but if you have to eat something that is not "healthy"...still eat, but keep in your recommended calorie range. It is much better for you to eat than to NOT eat because of the lack of choices you have. Like you said, make do with what you have, but make sure you always get the recommended daily minimum. You can still eat "naughty" food, but within reason and an exercise plan...which you are following. Good luck to you! | |||

| You sound dedicated with your exercise plan, but you are clearly eating TOO LITTLE food. You body needs 1200 calories to function and keep your organs working properly. Keeping a deficit will help with the weight loss, but too much exercise + too little food = starvation mode/unhealthiness. | |||

| Hey, all. Just weighed in...this will have to be my Friday weigh in because I won't be able to use my "official" scale on Friday because of the 4th:
Start: 150, Current: 120.25, Goal: 120............ (-0.5 loss) I'm almost there! Just doesn't help when TTOM comes and stalls your progress for a week. (I don't think I turned my weight in last week) Happy 4th, everyone! |

| Kerry--I have also had 2 children and have the stretchmarky flabby distored belly. I've lost almost 30 pounds and am lighter than I was before I even got p.g. the first time. I've googled tummy tucks and my stomach is the typical picture of pre-tummy tuck belly, but after reading about it. I DO NOT want to go under the knife. I've also thought about breast reduction surgury, but that scares me, too. If you can find clothes that "hide" the flab wouldn't that be safer? That's my thoughts on this lately. Just be happier its shrunk in general. Good luck! | |||

| Jackie--congrats on your weight loss so far! You are doing amazing. I starting @ 150 July 2008 and am finally at around 120-121. When I got to 130 it was harder and harder to lose and it has been slow ever since. Keep going as you are, maybe try zig zagging your calories, let yourself have a day where you can "go over the limit" a little. Then get back on track the next day. Sometimes I think your body needs a break...you are probably stressing yourself about the calories/lack of loss, which doesn' help the weight loss at all. And maybe you need to up your calories a little since you are working out. Remember that losing the weight slowly usually means that you'll have a better chance of keeping it off. Good luck! | |||

| I'm going to have to take today's (Thurs) weight because I won't get in to use the "official scale" I usually use on Friday's until Monday, so here goes.
120.75.....-0.5 pound loss. Yeah If I could just get to 120.....I'll readjust my goal then. Have a good weekend, everyone. I'm home with the kids today and tomorrow and my 5 year old threw the biggest tantrum/attitude with me, my 3 year old was trying to shove a baby kitten into a big empty pickle jar we have for a squirrel feeder, my dog ran down our long driveway after my future sis-in-law who was on her bike onto the highway, I had to fly down the driveway in the truck to go get him off the highway...It's been a H@LL of a day! I think I need a girl's night! |

| What day are we going to weigh in?
I go for my yearly physical on Wednesday and I'm looking forward to seeing how my cholesterol and triglycerides have changed since a year ago. You would think eating healthier and losing almost 30 pounds would help that. Wish me luck. I'm excited to be much healthier, and I am NOT going to let heart disease and diabetes get me...It runs in my family, but I'm determined to not let myself go in that direction. On another note, I was so excited about this I just had to share....I went through my drawer of bras that have been too small for me (since I got p.g. and had my first child over 5 years ago). My 34 DDs actually fit me again! No more DDDs! Some of you may think...wow! That's still huge, but for me I feel SMALL. I had been wearing 36 DDDs, Fs, and I even had a G when I was nursing. I haven't had pre-baby sized boobs for a long time. Makes me feel good and I can find clothes that are actually cute and not old-lady style. I don't HAVE to get an XL or L shirt anymore to fit my chest and swim in in everywhere else. Yeah for me! |

| Hi. I'm 5'3" and I weigh about 121. Pants I wear 5/6 and shirts usually a Med or Larg depending upon the brand (I'm a 34 DDD). I've lost almost 30 pounds and I used to wear a 11/12 pants and a Large or XL top.
madetoshine---I buy my jeans at Maurices, American Eagle, Old Navy, you just have to look for the "short" if you are wearing flatter shoes. If I am wearing heels/boots, I usually just get the regular length. I just found two pairs of jeans at a consignment shop it town. They are like new! |

| This should be a no-brainer. Of course its not good for you. Where is the healthy food in your equation? If you want to end up with high-triglycerides and high cholesterol then keep eating like that. Do a little more research and learn to eat healthier. If you have a day that you eat like that, make sure you balance it out with fruits and veggies, whole-grains, and dairy. It's okay to have "cheat" days, but if you eat that all the time, its not good for you. | |||

| Congratulations on the weight loss! I don't want to get you discouraged, but losing 5 pounds right off the bat, is probably water weight. Keep within your calorie limits, exercise, and keep about a 500 calorie deficit and you'll probably continue to lose 1-2 pounds week. Good luck! | |||

| Hey, all. Weigh in for today: 121.3 My lowest weight yet since high school-college days! The dreaded plateau I was in for about 2 months has finally broken!
Just started Jazzercise class last night, so a little concerned about the scale going up, but they say that's normal. I'll be building muscle, which is better than skinny fat, right? I'm off for the summer from teaching, so I'll have more time to concentrate on exercise and TRYING to eat and snack healthy. I wouldn't be good about keeping the thread updated. I think all someone would need to do would be to copy and paste Mandi's orginal thread into another one and be the new "manager". I just don't have time for it. Just logging the calories takes enough of my time during the day. |

| Hey, guys. I really wish that we could get this thread updated...oh well...i guess i can still check in. I just wish I could see my name in the "maintenance" section--or into my new goal section.
Weighed in today @ 122.75--down 2 pounds from last week. Not sure how that happened. By next week I could be back up those 2 pounds. I've been stuck for about 2 months...maybe I've got my metabolism kicked into gear again? Ahhh...the stretchmarks. I was just showing mine to a co-worker the other day. We were complaining about baby belly stretchmarks. I have a NICE star pattern all the way around my belly button. Never knew that stretchmarks can be bumpy and hard. It feels like a calcium deposit within the marks. Very gross. Yeah...bikini thoughts have been gone for a long time for me. |

| I'm in the same boat, makinitcount! Mid-March, I hit my goal and can't seem to get the scale to move ANYMORE! Self control...lack of exercise. That's my problem. I think in my head, I know what my body burns naturally, so I've been at least trying to stay under that. But sometimes going over that. I need to create more of a deficit! I'm even using a spreadsheet that I got from someone on her to track the deficit each day. I think I'm becoming obsessed. I know its good that I'm maintaining, but I want to continue and get to my next goal. This hovering around 125 stinks!
Any ideas...please pass them along. |

| I am having the same problems. I can't seem to get the scale to budge and go down. I've hovered around 125 since mid-March. I know that was my goal, but I want to go 5 more. My calorie target is 1300, but CAN'T seem to stay there. It's more like 1600...and that's what I burn just doing nothing. I think I know what I need to so...exercise. It's just so wet and chilly and cold. UGH! Like right now, I've eaten 1609 calories for the day and I'm still hungry. | |||

| mrs skittles,
I am down 25 pounds--current weight 125 (since last July) and I've had co-workers say the same thing. I know I still have a little extra baggage to lose. My body is stalling on me right now. I've been this weight since mid-March and its getting frustrating. I personally think that when people make comments like that, it could be a little jealousy. My goal for now is 120...That would put me at about what I weighhed shortly after high school. And that was 16 years ago. Good luck! |

| If you are trying to get out of the bad eating patterns and train yourself to eat healthier, then eat a bow of cereal and milk. Or maybe even a pieceof toast, a banana? It's better for you than a slice of cucumber or 100 calories of juice. | |||

| Usually a serving of potato chips is 1 oz. If you eat ONE chip, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you really feel like figuring out the math. Example 1 serving of Lays Light potato chips is 1 oz or 20 chips. If you ate 2 chips, you could log 2/20th of a serving (0.10). A lot of little bites can add up. | |||
