| hey heather-
i'm 27 years old, 5'7'' and 156 lbs. went on the south beach diet (phase 1) 2 weeks ago, and somehow ended up gaining 5 pounds. (i know what it was, binge drinking and eating...failing miserably)
i found this site yesterday, and my goals are to lose about 16 lbs by the middle of july. it works out to about a pound a week. i really liked this article on caloric intake: http://weightloss.about.com/od/eatsmart/a/blc alintake.htm i like thinking about weight loss as calories burned and consumed daily. if we cut back on eating 3500 calories/week - ie: about 500/day through a combination of excercise and diet, we WILL lose weight! wondering how enthustiastic i'm going to feel in a week. hopefully you will all also still be here and we will all have positive stories to tell each other. i want to wear a bathing suit and feel good about it! THIS SUMMER :) |

| i completely understand gaining and losing the same 3-4 lbs for months and months. on day 13 of a South Beach Diet, Phase 1, i've decided to start all over again b/c i gained 3 lbs. to be at 156 instead of losing weight from the 153 i was when i started 2 weeks ago!
Just wanted to say thanks for these postings, and the 150 club... it helps to know we all struggle every day over this stuff. i am inspired to begin again! i will drink green tea tom. and not starbucks with sugar & cream. i will not eat a chocolate cake with ice cream for dinner tommorrow. my goal is to lose 15 pounds over the next 15 weeks. by july sometime. i will check in again this week and hopefully come back with good news :) |
