I believe the book they are referring to is called "The Game". It has the same principals... Insult the girl so on and so forth. Apparently it worked on Paris Hilton. My friends said if all else it is a good entertaining read.

Currently I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada- its canada's most festive city, i mean every week theres something. Home of the fringe which even made it on oprah lol. Umm theres tons of historic stuff here, whyte ave is trendy and fun. There are tons of bars and clubs from western to goth. The gay bars are a bit of a dive but they are tons of fun! It is the home of the Oilers and Eskimos (NHL, CFL). We have the university of alberta and stollery childrens hospital both of which have cutting edge technologies and are leading the way in ____research (i cant think of it at the moment). I noticed that lately we have been getting really good concerts and the local music is pretty awesome, a few bands have even "made it".

I am originally from Vernon BC/ Salmon Arm BC Which i love way more than edmonton and hope to go back one day. I love the mountains, lakes, people, warm weather, nice winters and proximity to vancouver.

I love stick! I will never go back to an automatic! Its so much easier driving in the winter too! I almost never have to use my brakes, downshifting rocks! I was really lucky though, i got to learn in a junkyard. It didnt matter if i broke the car, and there was no one around, well except for the people i worked with. But it was neat to get used to a lot of different clutches... I think its good to remember that no one cares, take a deep breath and dont get to frustrated. When you get comfy with your shifting, take a stab at hills, try it on a isolated road that there isnt as many cars! Try stoping and going all the way up, once i did that i had the confidence to go anywhere! Happy Trails!

I love food and generally think about it all the time. Now i think of good things though, like instead of how i want to go out for wings and beer, i'll go to a salad bar and see what i can make up that might taste good, then go buy the ingredients later.

We could go with Freud and say, their unconscious desires are driving them to flirt. I.E their infatuation, their jokes are what they would really rather be doing.

Some times its fun to flirt, it just depends. Friendly flirting or the intent to flirt to lead to something more.

I have it....It dont like the taste of it on its own. In a shake it would be fine. it just doesnt taste like ice cream and when it melts it looks like water. I saw it on HG as well and thats why i bought it, but oh well i'll just use it in one of their shake recipes.

At my campus we have subway, tim hortons, burger king, funky pickly pizza, and then what ever the campus makes. There are alot of healthy options. In general i bring a lunch, because my apartment is 5 blocks from campus and its to expensive eating there everyday. Not only that but i dont really have time between classes to wait in the lines.

I went to Port Dover Ontario while i was on vacation. It was mostly an overcast day, but i spent majority of it in the water. I got the worst burn i have ever gotten. 2 days later it was the worst feeling in the world it was like burning, itching, tingling, weird feeling. I wanted to cut off my skin it was so bad :(. Now i almost always ware sunscreen. Iam a landscaper so my arms/face/neck, are permantly dark, so i dont burn there anymore :) But yes sunscreen is a must, i never want to go through that again! I would even ware spf 60 to avoid it!!!!!
The Lounge Gay marriage! Where my gays at?! Jul 27 2007

When I first read this it was only 3 pages, and I have not read the other 23 (sorry but thats a lot of reading to go through). However I still feel the need to throw my 2 cents in. Marriage is not soley a religous sacrement. It comes with a lot of governmental benifits. I understand that people get upset about how it may be a discrace to god, but not everyone gets married in a church or by a priest/father/....ect. How is it okay for my partner to be ill, but im not allowed to see her because im not "family", im not married? Its not fair that there are benifits to married couples. At the very least civil unions should be offered so that the same benifits could be had.

You cannot denounce gay marriage with religion for a public policy. It doesnt work, and there is separation of church and state for a reason. Not every person follows religion, not every religion has the same views, and it can be debated till the end of time wether or not any of them can be taken as factual.

At one point religion was used to justify blacks and whites from not marrying, and that has since changed. Eventually in America Gays will be allowed to marry.

Iam canadian, so I can marry. That makes me happy :) But i do feel tons of compassion for my neighbours down south.
The Lounge Ouija Board.... Jul 22 2007

I have used the ouija board before and it never worked. However i have seen a ghoast before. I was freaking scared. I was 9, and He came through my room and disappeard through my wall. My parents saw him that night too. In the kitchen it always felt like someone was behind me when i would be washing dishes. Also It was funny because it would always smell like cigar smoke in the basement, but no one smoked cigars. The smoke detector kept going off, all the time aat all hours. And there was no smoke. We were looking at the fireplace, behind the wall, where the smoke goes out through the vent and it was all detoriated. Our house could have burned down, because the distance was close enough that the sparks could have ignited the wall, or insulation or something ( im not sure). After we fixed it everything stoped, no smells, or stuff going on or off. I still have his image in my head. I dont think it would ever fade. it was interesting because my stepmom always felt that his name was ernie, so thats what we called him. Eventually we did some research and found out that a man named ernie had died in the house. Freaky! My family always thought that he was there to warn us, and when that was done he left. Ever since then i havent had any doubts that a spirit world exists. Too many people have so many different experiences. Some people will never belive unless they see something; Which is totally understandable.

I read an article a few weeks ago about how they were trying to pass a bill that stated that if parents were smoking around their children that it would be considerd a form of child abuse, and those kids that were subjected to it, could later sue their parents for damages.

Children are helpless. they cant really say/do anything about it which is really unfourtunate.

Sometimes your body loses weight at a larger amount than normal. Just because some one went on a different diet for a week, doesnt mean that magically the weight will come back in droves, or the body is going to have serious implications from lack of nutrients. Long term, would be highly unstable and thats where you run into problems with gaining it all back, or lack of nutrients.

Iam so happy that they banned smoking in buildings, malls, resturants, bars and such. I hate the smell of smoke, its not healthy, it makes your clothes reek....I enjoyed the bars being smoke free. Business people were all afraid that people were going to stop going to bars because of this....buuut only a small fraction of customers were lost. And those ones were replaced by people like me who would now go out because it wasnt so gross!

Some one was talking about plastic shopping bags earlier. Bringing your own re-usable bags is such a good idea. I work for the waste management cite for my city, and much of the garbage that we have to pick up are stupid shopping bags. its annoying. There everywhere, and i appreciate the people who dont use them any more.

We were having a discussion at work about wether or not americans have recycling programs in place? I.E Blue bag (all recycled goods in a blue bag instead of with regular garbage. Gets picked up like regular garbage, and then sorted again), bottle deposits ( 5 cents a can, 10 cents for liter bottle...ect you pay when you buy the item, recieve the deposit back when you return them). The only thing i know for sure, is that you can recycle cars.

My first apartment was awesome. I was able to afford it all on my own, utilities, car, rent, food and every thing working two part time jobs. I Moved right at the end of june in 04 when i was graduating. Its a cool experience. I lived off of tomatoe sandwiches and beer for the first 3 months until i met my gf, and we got a new place! As the above posters mentioned getting hand me downs are awesome, and free. Or check out a local value village for dishes and stuff. And yes IKEA is amazing and cheap. Also when looking at apartments and doing walkthroughs tell them, about every little ding and dent, missing things, and such so you dont get strung along for it when you move out. Good luck, it will be fuN!
