I LOVE California rolls. Ahh now I want some. Any other suggestions? I've only ever had the California rolls and it would be cool to try something new. |

I plan on eating a normal-sized breakfast and light lunch, and probably a small snack before I go. For dinner I'll stick to turkey, vegetables, stuffing, and green bean casserole as my "indulgence." I'll keep the portions small and WON'T get seconds. I'm only going to eat things I really like and want to eat. I have no problems with desserts because I'm really never hungry after dinner, so I won't worry about that. but I will take some leftover desserts home because I don't wanna miss out! Plus I'm gonna be working out (and just plain working on Black Friday) the day before and the day after. My gym isn't open on Thanksgiving, but I think I'll be fine. |

yesterday wasn't the healthiest day, but I kept it somewhat balanced breakfast: english muffin with sausage patties. an apple lunch: salad with tomatoes, vinaigrette dressing, and some cheese cubes thrown in there. a few pieces of calimari, potato chip-type things (kind of like butterfly fries). pineapple peach mango iced oolong tea snack: small brownie dinner: baked chicken with rice and broccoli |

dear not really the manager, you are a loser. you're 21 and your only job is serving Italian Ice. I wouldn't mind so much if you didn't continuously complain about your lack of money needed for insurance and school. and then proceed to spend the oh, I don't know, $100 check at the bar the next night. your hair looks gross. and WHY DO YOU REFUSE TO CURSE? it annoys the crap out of me since you act like a total bitch (can i say that here?), but then say "I am so TICKED off" or "it looks like poop." and your overuse of the word silly makes you sound immature and dumb. Please quit before we reopen in March. |

potato chips dipped in coke or pretzels dipped in orange soda pretzels & chips sandwiched and eaten at the same time (not weird I guess, but nobody else I knew did it). cheddar cheese dipped in california french dressing- I'd take shredded cheddar cheese, roll it into a ball and then just dunk it. also I was a ketchup fiend. |

I'll never eat it, but I prefer canned. Just because it's a Thanksgiving classic in my family. Whether it's canned or not I'll still think it's disgusting, haha. There's ust something about that "fresh-out-of-the-can" shape that makes me think of the holidays and family. |

1. candy- I eat candy year round, nothing really seasonal lol 2. cookie/bar- gingerbread! or chocolate chip cookie bars 3. main dish (turkey, honey ham, tamales, etc)- turkey 4. side dish (baked yams, green bean casserole, etc.)- stuffing or green bean casserole 5. pie/cake- hmm I'd say apple, but I actually have that all year. I've been craving cherry pie lately. oh and my aunt's peach & cherry cobbler, I really hope she makes it this year. it's awesome. and also, anything pumpkin flavored (iced lattes, frappuccinos, muffins, bagels, etc...), and chocolate-peppermint combos |

breakfast- 5/5:30 (whenever I wake up) this is on weekdays, and dinner is my biggest meal so I rarely ever need a snack after, but sometimes I do. saturdays I eat breakfast whenever I wake (which can be anywhere from 6-11), lunch somewhere between 12 and 2, a snack, and then dinner can be at 5 or as late as 9 sometimes.

| Foods | Friends oblivious to nutrition? | Nov 08 2009 23:44 (UTC) |

lol i used to be like that! I thought that the nutrition facts were for the whole container, or just as much as you ate (for example, it says a serving of cereal is 120 calories. if i ate 2 servings it would still be 120 calories, and even if i ate the whole box it would only be 120 calories). and I thought drinks had no calories. Now, this is back when I was around 13/14, but to see adults still being this deluded is kind of sad. Back then I just knew what was "good" and "bad," "healthy" and "unhealthy," and what would make you "fat" or not. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that. Not the complete ignorance to nutrition, but just having the basic idea of 'This is healthy, I should eat it. This is not healthy, I shouldn't eat it as much.' My outlook on food has become too complicated. |

it's down to 2 choices: bagel with cream cheese, or greek yogurt with fruit & granola. because sometimes I'm craving "savory" bread-like things and other days I really want something fruity. but I think in the end the bagel would win. with raspberry iced tea! |

| The Lounge | Who else hates Thanksgiving food? | Nov 07 2009 03:17 (UTC) |

I only like stuffing, vegetables (but for some reason nobody ever makes broccoli on Thanksgiving!), and green bean casserole. Everything else I can do without. Turkey's alright, but nothing special and usually pretty bland. Mashed potatoes are blegh, cranberry sauce is disgusting. I like apple pie but I'm always too full for dinner to have it. I've always wanted to make more "interesting" dishes (or even healthier ones!) but I'm at the liberty of my mom's cooking. If I make a "healthy" version of something, she makes a "normal" version, making mine seem weird and untouchable. I think when I'm older I may just forego Thanksgiving (once I have my own family and such), not the holiday itself, just the traditional food. |

I agree about Blake Lively. My personal choice is Rachel Bilson, because I also have a small frame & she's only an inch taller than me. There's other women I like who have more "muscular" body types, but I honestly can't remember them right now. Also, Heidi Klum's body is ridiculous, but a completely unrealistic goal. |

I agree with vanessa, it wasn't really scary in the theater at all, except for the last 5 minutes. Sure, there were "creepy" and "weird" things, but I actually found most of the movie pretty boring, and I think they could've cut out a lot of stuff and done the whole movie in about 30 minutes. And I'm usually the biggest baby when it comes to horror movies or scary stuff. |

| The Lounge | What do you do when you just don't want to? | Oct 21 2009 10:16 (UTC) |
|
It really depends. I've been having a lot of blah days lately since I'm always swamped with homework and sleep deprived. I'll usually just plow through everything I have to do anyway, and sometimes I'll take a short nap if I can afford to. Yesterday was definitely an example, except I was sick too, so instead of going to my soccer game I stayed home and caught up on sleep (my mom made me, she didn't want me out in the cold). Many times during school I'll be completely burnt out and think 'I'm gonna leave practice early to go home & take a nap,' but then once I actually get to practice and start running around I feel 10 times better and want to stay. So usually I just take care of all the necessary things & try to plan better. I make up for my lost sleep on the weekends. |

For me it goes both ways. Some days I'll think I look great & then see a picture and look horrible, other days I won't be crazy about myself & then see a picture and realize I look pretty good. My personal problem is just with different reflections. In my bedroom mirror I'll look skinny, and then if I pass a mirror in the mall or something I look pudgy (I'm not saying I'm fat, and I know I'm not. and this doesn't happen with every mirror). I'll leave the house thinking I look good in my outfit and then look in a reflection & see that the boots I thought made my legs look slim ended up having the opposite effect, or something like that. That's why I'm always confused about reflections. Which one is right? Mirrors vary how you look based on their size and shape and magnification. Kind of the same thing as scales, really. I mean, yeah, maybe a scale at your friend's house told you that you actually weigh 5 lbs more than you thought, but you're not gonna weigh yourself on that scale everyday, so you just go with the reading on the one in your own home. So I've now realized that I've gone through my life not really knowing what I truly look like. I guess that may be what pictures are for... And angles do make quite a difference. I will say that I definitely do have a "good side" (only because my other side is terrible!) |

your mom has a point about the whole "no sleep = getting sick" thing, but I was just wondering, does she just tell you that you should go to bed, or does she MAKE you? because I'm 17 and my mom always tells me to go to bed or says "you should go to bed soon," but never forces me. I agree that you're too old for a bedtime, I don't think I've ever had a real one except when I was very young, I usually just got into the habit of going to bed at a certain time. I agree with kay_h, my mom doesn't care when I go to bed, as long as I know that no matter how late I fall asleep I'm waking up for school in the morning. It's my senior year of high school and throughout all 4 years she's only let me stay home twice because I didn't get enough sleep, and that's only because I was at the point where I was physically sick. Yeah, so I don't have a bedtime, but I go to bed fairly early on my own (I used to have terrible insomnia), and wake up very early. I actually love waking up early. So my parents don't really need to enforce any bedtimes (not that they would). If you show your parents that you're responsible enough to go to bed when you choose & wake up on time then maybe your mom will be more reasonable? jeeze, who knew I could write so much about sleep. |

I woke up yesterday & went to Starbucks. They didn't have the drink I initially wanted so I just ordered one that sounded good (without knowing the calorie count or anything) and it was grande sized (NOT tall), full fat, with whipped cream. Awesome. Had a soccer game yesterday and it was freezing, so on the way home I got a hot chocolate. I didn't think about the calories or weigh myself beforehand to see if I "could" or "couldn't" drink it. I was cold so I had hot chocolate, and it was good. End of story. Two in one day (: |

| Foods | Holiday Eating Plans | Oct 05 2009 23:08 (UTC) |

Eh, the holidays do not worry me anymore. I rarely eat any candy on Halloween, and I've gotten so much better at stopping when I'm full on Thanksgiving and Christmas. yes, it does kind of suck to not have room for dessert, but if I'm full from dinner then I'm not gonna shove pie down my throat. That's what leftovers are for. Also, my family holiday gatherings are pretty mellow, so nobody's trying to overfeed me or "judging" me based on my smaller portions. They'll offer, but if I'm not hungry then they don't push it. I'm very excited about all the holidays this year. |

i HATE (and have always hated) candy corn. and I think it's weird to receive popcorn balls. don't like butterfingers or kit kats or twizzlers either. There's a bunch of other things, but the main offender is candy corn. oh! and those random unnamed hard pieces of caramel or butterscotch. i love fruity candy like starburst, skittles, and ring pops. as for chocolate, my 2 favorites are snickers and twix. |

| The Lounge | I'm evil. | Sep 27 2009 12:52 (UTC) |

heh, sometimes I'll base how much I charge people on how nice they are to me, cause some people are downright NASTY. I'll never overcharge, but if the person is being rude then they're paying full price, if they're really nice & friendly (or if they're nice and I can tell they might not have enough money) then I won't charge them for sprinkles or a topping or something. I work at an ice cream/Italian ice place. Also, we have "frequent buyer cards" that allow you one free item once you get all 10 stamps. You're supposed to use it on the cheapest regular-sized item, but if I like the person sometimes I'll use it on the more expensive item, and if you're rude then its the smallest one. I think I have the problem of letting my mood show too much, but sometimes I just can't stand people and their freakin' attitudes. and I don't think what you did was evil. haha I made myself sound like I do stuff like that ^ all the time but it's really not that often. |

I don't necessarily feel terrible, but this week I've been tired all day, everday, no matter how early I go to bed the night before. But I'm also under a lot of stress with school lately. Hopefully it'll get easier to juggle everything soon. But I love fall! These past couple days have been annoyingly hot and sticky, and my new haircut clearly does not appreciate it. |
