Congrats Katyayer!! I'm so proud of you! Did you get the pedicure yet? Did it feel twice as good knowing how hard you worked to earn it?

This is exactly the sort of story I was looking for. She has all the excuses like once she gets to goal weight she will only take it sometimes in order to maintain and she is not taking as much as they say to take and all that. Thak you goddess.

I actually read that Ephedra ban was overturned in april 05 but I cant find why it was banned. So, it is legal and I am NOT considering taking the pills but I wanted to find out more about them for my friend and in this case it isnt one of those " I have this friend...." its really true. I worry about her health on those things.

We can do it!! We have both gotten out of the next bracket up and its all down hill from here!

Okay, so my goal for next Friday is 2 pounds but I am going on a road trip with two of my girlfriends to the ocean coast on May 25th. That is 4 weeks away....so I have a goal of getting to 162 by that time.

And only 4 more pounds till I can get my pedicure!!

Weighed in this morning and I have lost a pound. I am now 169, FINALLY out of the 170's and FINALLY down from 170 lbs. I was there for far too long. Not the amount of weight loss that I wanted but I couldnt really expect much more after my week of not doing so good.

Congrats to everyone who lost or maintained. And to those who didnt lose or maybe gained a small bit....keep your chin up and make up your mind to stay strong in this. Next week will be better.

My goal for next Friday is to lose at least 2 pounds. Keep your fingers crossed for me and I will do the same.

Congrats Jess!!! That is so great! I bet you are feeling so good about yourself.

Me....I am back on track. I got off track after my Friday weigh in and losing nothing but I am back on. It gets very discouraging sometimes when you work so hard and see no results. But I know that eventually the weight will come off.

Thank you pharm. I know that eventually I will start losing weight but its so frustrating when I try so hard and don't see any results at all. I know that you are right. And I think that I will try that 2-3 hour plan too. It sounds about right. Everyone always says its healthier to eat every couple hours. So, back on track and we will get this weight off one way or another.

Okay, so here I am. I was so depressed yesterday because I was so good with everything I ate and exercised and everything and I didnt lose anything. I stayed firm at 170. I tried to shift to the left and to the right. 170.

So, I went a little off the wagon this weekend and all that when you are depressed, so I'm really needing some motivation to keep going and get back on track this week.

hahahahahah mcintizzle........I laugh because I swear I could have written that. I remember actually RUNNING to the vending machine once, RUNNING, and getting a snickers bar (which I dont even really like) and literally devouring it. I dont think I even chewed, it all just went down my throat.

Fortunately for me I am on the Depo shot which cuts that TOM out completely. I love it. Don't miss it one bit.

But good luck with that and just remember...its only a few days out of every month. So go ahead and eat that snack or two and just exercise an extra time to make up for it. If you go around depriving yourself you will obsess about it and during that time....it could get dangerous.

Good luck!!

I have some good news that I wanted to share. This morning I put on a shirt that I couldn't even button up a month ago. And its LOOSE!!!!!!!! I will tell you that this made me feel 10 times better than any number on a scale.

One more. While I was going thru my desk I found some measurements I took a month or so ago. So I thought, what they hey....I'll measure again. My waist went from 37 to 35 1/2, my hips went from 41 to 39 1/2.

This is a great day and tomorrow we get to weigh!!

AJ, I am SO SO proud of you! That just made my day! Way to go girl. You are well on your way to beautiful toes and a skinny body!! Thank you for sharing with us.

I am going to weigh tomorrow. I haven't weighed since Tuesday and its driving me CRAZY, but I am hoping for results tomorrow because I've been so good and exercised and drank water and did everything I was supposed to.

Lauragriffin, welcome. This site will definitely make you take a look at what you have been cooking and eating and make you think twice. And also it will show you what message you are sending your kids by cooking dishes like that. Don't get me wrong, we've all done it. Mine was getting fast food for my son when we are in a hurry. Thank god he didnt get my genes and is all muscle but still.....I was telling him that fast food is okay. Since starting this, I havent cooked complicated meals, but I have cooked healthy ones. And I can see the difference. So, welcome to our group and to CC. We are so happy you are here. Do you want in on the pedicure challenge?

Munsey, welcome to you also. I am so happy that you decided to join CC and to stop by our little group. You are right, we are all going to be smokin hot. Think about the pedicure.

Everyone have a wonderful Thursday!!

I get bored too and I can't stand eating salads for lunch every single day. A salad every once in awhile is really good but I think if you eat anything too much, you get burnt out on it.

These are very good. I can imagine you could make your own too. All you would need is a head of lettuce, cooked chopped up chicken, you can buy rice noodles and then some sort of teriyaki sauce. They are probably easy to make.

Okay girls, have I got something for you!! The greatest low calorie lunch I have had yet.

I found it at Costco.....Asian chicken lettuce wraps. Its all in the package...the lettuce cups, the chicken, the rice noodles and the sauce. All you do is heat up the chicken, put in in the lettuce wrap, add the rice noodles and the sauce and eat it like a burrito.

And the greatest part is that for two wraps, its only 150 calories. I am eating it as we speak and its so good I had to share it with you guys.

If you go to costco, I would suggest you get them. They are right by the produce section and they are YUMMY!!!!!!

And two wraps are enough to fill me up. All for 150 calories!!

Marla,

I bet you anything that you will be surprised at the feeling of success you have when you step on that scale. I know it can be scary but its part of tracking your weight loss. And if you absolutely cant do that, get a measuring tape and measure your waist, hips, thighs and arms once a week. That doesnt give you such a number but it still lets you know that you are doing well.

I feel the same way trapp! Today is the first day that I haven't weighed myself and I feel great. And you know what else?? I have a business suit blazer on today that I couldn't even button before. So, last time I used the scale it told me that I have lost 5 pounds, but I think that sometimes we lose inches without dropping in pounds and that number on the scale can be so intimidating. Like you said we are basing our mood for the day on this stupid scale.

Have you joined the Friday weigh in group? If not, you should. We are all weighing on Fridays and then reporting to the group.

You know, I've been wondering the same thing McIn. About the calories you must take in to lose weight. I did a lot of research on this and it seems that you WILL drop weight very quickly if you go below 1200 but it won't last because lets be honest. That would be just like those fad diets where you drop a lot of weight but who is going to eat less than 1200 calories for the rest of your life? And if your body gets used to not getting very many calories, the minute you start eating more, you will gain weight. Its that simple. So the 1200 calories is actually the healthier way to go because you will lose the weight slowly but surely and in a healthy way which you can maintain in the long run.

So, although I want to see HUGE and FAST results, I am making more than a weight loss here, I am making a mind shift to a healthier way of life. So, with that....I am doing the 1200-1400 calories per day and watching the weight come off slowly.

To me its more than the weight though. Its that I am FINALLY learning to be healthy and not depend on a diet pill or a tea drink or starving myself. I am learning how to eat delicious foods that are good for me. I am learning that exercise is a very important part of every day life. And along the way I am teaching my son healthy habits that will last him a lifetime

You know sore....talking about perspective...my doctor gave me some one time that I will never forget. She told me to hold up a bag of sugar. That weighs 5 pounds. If you hold up a bag of potatoes, that weighs around 10 pounds. Those things can be quite heavy. Now imagine, as you are saying...that added weight coming off your body and your joints. So, even 5 pounds makes a huge difference in how you feel. And like Jess said, she lost the equivalent of a 3 year old child. Isn't that amazing??

That's a great way to look at it. You must be so proud of yourself. Sometimes it seems overwhelming to me that I have to lose 20 more pounds. But you have inspired me. I can do this. It might take awhile but I'm hoping that I can get it down by the 4th of July. That gives me almost 3 months to lose 20 pounds. Do you think that is a realistic goal?? I don't want to set myself up for failure because I find myself wanting to throw it all away and eat eat eat when I get discouraged or frustrated. It seems so hard sometimes but I keep going and hoping that I can keep my motivation up.

How long has it taken you to lose forty pounds? Wow, that is quite an amazing accomplishment. That is a lot of weight. You think about how much a huge bag of dog food weighs....thats how much weight you have dropped off your body. When you think about it like that, its really amazing. Good job Jess. And keep up the good work.

No matter what our men say now, imagine how much they will love the thinner us!!!

Funny how we think alike, just last night I was thinking about what I could do after the pedicure for my next ten pound goal. And I think that I have decided that I am going to get a facial when I hit the next ten pound goal. I love facials and they are something that I don't treat myself too very often, so that would be a great reward for myself.

And just think....once I get the pedicure and the facial...not only will I have pretty toes and pretty skin...but I'll only have 5 more pounds to go!!!!!!!!! Wow, if that isn't motivating, I don't know what is.

I know, now I have another reason to look forward to Fridays, as if I needed another reason! But I find myself excited for Friday to come so I can see the progress, and its actually making me keep on track better, knowing that I can only weigh once/week and hoping for bigger results.

The problem that I have is that my boyfriend sees no reason for me to lose weight. He thinks that I look beautiful how I am. Thats good on one side but on the other side I think he should want this for me too. Don't get me wrong, he's super supportive of anything I am doing but makes it heard that he believes I am just perfect the way I am.

So, the motivation to lose weight lies in my hands. I bet you anything once I lose this weight, he'll like it even better though. And the important thing is that I will feel better about myself. As I am writing this, I am seeing it as a positive. For so long I was trying to lose weight for this person or that person. Now, with him loving me the way I am, the only person I am doing this for is ME, and thats a great feeling.

Well, I resisted the scale this morning. It was hard, but then I thought that I'll feel so much better only weighing once a week and so I passed it by. My boyfriend must think I'm crazy, with this addiction to the scale and having to talk myself down every time I pass it. lol.

Good for you sore! I think that is awesome! I am so proud of you for resisting a quick fix. As hard and long as this weight loss thing is sometimes, at least in the end you will know that YOU did it. Not some pills.

I wish I could tell you some hints, but I am awful about weighing every day. I am just going to try as hard as I can to stay away from the scale and tell myself it will be so much better to actually see bigger results once a week.
