I just want to say how thankful I am to Munsey for starting this forum and helping us to make this connection with each other. Can you all believe it is been well over a year that a few of us die hards or should I say loss hards have been able to help each other thru good and bad. Not just weight issues but life issues. So very grateful I found you all. You cheer me on- keep me honest-listen-and share. Love to see this forum stay active as it started our friendship off, but mostly I hang in the journal these days. Munsey-Hope your test went well and enjoy your vacation. Sometimes vacation works better for me because we only eat at meals and there is a lot of extra walking and activities. |

Question- are we going to have weekly check-ins or process dates every Sunday or Monday? I think that would help keep me focused or refocus if I have a bad day. Just a thought. I like Mondays because weekends are not as structures as weekdays so that is where I tend to do my worst eating. Maybe if I knew I had to be accountable on Monday, I would eat better on a the weekend. |

It is nice to see this forum still alive. I found it on page 2, I thought it would be buried pages back. Thanks to gettinhealthy for setting up the challenge. I am in for 10 lbs. That is about 6 weeks away. I hope to make my goal, I have been soooooo stuck, but know why. I am eating at about 1750 cals a day so a good place to maintain, but not lose. So my plan is to up the exercise to get down another 250-500 calories a day. I have logged my food everyday since June 23. It is keeping me honest. Even those chunks of cheese samples at the grocery store, no fooling myself. I hang mostly in the journals, but hope to post here. I am grateful to the this group. I cannot tell you how often my thoughts are in your words. My struggles are yours. Best to all for a successful weight loss during the remainder of the summer. Susan |

Just a hello to everyone. I am logging my food daily in the am, and then slip in the evening. Oh surprise that is the time I don't eat as well. I am posting the total day, knowing that it will help me to be more accountable. I am writing this here and not my journal because I want to keep our post going. It seems no one is posting the last few days. From my own experience that is when I slip the most, so come on back you guys. We have not heard from Biker, I know she is busy supporting her friend. JCR how is the recovery going. Munsey hang in there. And where the heck is Bub, Fancy, Caroljoy..come on girls |

bejthin- I am with you. I want to get to 200. I am now around 226. I had a goal of 175, but I changed it to 200. Just more reachable, not so overwhelming. I know my real short term goal is 220. My whole family is into going all together and exercise as a family. We all do different things, but same building. Some are playing basketball, walking the track. I like the bike. Munsey-sounds like you were busy. I think if my memory is right you are in the pharmacy now. I know my husband reached a level on his insurance for prescriptions, and everything after that point was free, so he tried to fill every prescription he could after 12-25 even spring allergy stuff. I would guess you need all new insurance cards this year, so you probably will have a busy Jan too. Looking for 1500th entry. I am glad to be back. Now a Richard Simmons stretch before we head exercise. (Fix your shirt now if you have to fix your shirt.) Susan |

Happy New Year to all. New Year-Fresh start to make healthy choices. Not wishes and I will try. I am the one sitting in front of the tv for hours, and shoveling food in. So, I am the one to change that. I want to be mindful in my eating, making good choices, moving, which could include cleaning more and organizing my house. I feel like I have been in a trance sometimes and just as routine cruise the cabinets, and on auto pilot grabbing for food. Food has been my friend and comfort. Time to wake from my trance. Feel the emotions- good/bad/happy/sad/stress/frustration....Eati ng does not make those feeling disappear. Today I am at 229.5. I get overwelmed at the thought I need to lose 75 lbs or more. Here is my path. 1. Turn off the negative talk, and the voice in my head calling me to carbs and replace it with a voice that is positive and asking for water, fresh fruit and veges. No mindless eating, instead healthy choices. 2. Move- this could be a walk, sweeping the kitchen floor, going to exercise. Dust off the Richard Simmon's Dancing to Oldies, Sweating to the Oldies...I have mayb 5 of them and Jane Fonda, and yoga, types and a Total Gym collecting dust. We also have a membership to the Jcc. It is like YMCA. We decided use it or lose it. So it is something we can all do together 3. Get enough sleep. 4. Water- drink it I start my new job 1/7/08. Which means a new daily routine. I am taking the bus instead of driving, I am also working 40 hrs a week instead of 36. My bus ride is only 15 minutes, and that is only 4 more hours but it really changes things. I used to work 6:30- 3:00, but now I am working 7:30-4:30. My oldest needs to take the bus home from school and pickup my youngest from school. So not only did my routine change, my kids routine is changing too. With the bus schedule, it means getting home at 5:15 instead of 3:30. So, time to setup healthy habits day1. I need to plan ahead and use the crock pot. Enought of my blah blah blah, time to put on Richard Simmons Love to Stretch. Wishing you all good health in the new year. So glad to be back. Susan |

| Loven- I also think it is great to say the same. We need to know we can do that when we get to be at our goal.
I need to refocus, and the main thing is water, and exercise and good choices. I am looking forward to starting the year the do daily logs of food. Munsey thanks for the good words. Fancy- I can't believe it was 10 years ago we watched my mother-in-law with alezheimer. She was very sweet and smiled, but I know she did not know us. It was crushing for my husband. I washed her loss her ability to take care of herself as my youngest was learning to walk, talk... It is hardest on her loved ones than her. She seemed in a happy place in her mind. We were lucky with lots of support/friends family. It is nice to know people care. Just went to a funeral on Wed 1/26/07, very sudden, but it was really an amazing celebration of my friends father's life. Lots of stories, tears, laughs. Everyone know he loved life, his family, just a real nice person. So he grown children, laught with their tears. Everyone should have that much love in there life. I am wrapping up my old job, cleaning my desk. Looking forward to a new start. All in All eveyone is very supportive of this change for me. Happy '08- can't believe it is '08 it seems like we were just celebrating '00. This is the time to take control of my food intake. |

| Hello my old friends. I can't believe it has been months since I posted and went to this site. I am up to my old tricks up a few down a few, but so looking to get back to business. I have not caught up on all, just the last few pages. My oldest is 17 (boy), and I thought my parenting days were winding down.
In the last few months I joined a bowling league. B/4 marriage and kids I used to bowl. I feel I am finding me again, and I found my peeps. It is a fun league with bowlers age 30's to 95 (all women). Yes this one women gets a ride from the assisted living place to bowl. I also recently connected with a College friend. I had not talked to in 15 years, it was so great to hear her voice. So now I am reconnecting you with all. So glad to see the forum still in use. Another big change, I start a new job in January (1/7/08). I freaked people out when they found out I was looking. The good news is that I had done an informational interview b/4 I told my boss. So I knew it was a good fit for me and for the hiring manager. So when I told my boss so I could apply it was kind of a done deal. It took 4 months to happen. We have a new head of our department in my current job, and in 4 months he has not bother to walk around and meet all 10 of us. I know big changes are on there way, and I was in my current job 8 years. So it was time to make a change. I am excited and a little nervous, but all in in ready for new position. Just wanted to wish you all well, health, happiness and peace in your lives and family. I miss the support, laughs, and will try to stay connected in '08. |

welcome to normal days..the kids are back in school, so I think I can start getting my life to some level of normal. Missed you guys. July and Aug I have just held my own not up not down. Part of me is okay with that it seems that when I lose my weight I will be able to maintain, but part is me is mad at myself for wasting those 2 months. Well can't cry over it, just get back on the horse. Back to the gym/pool for me and mybe biking. BC, I also like to bike, I can't run, but biking makes me feel like a kid again. More later. I am at work, I want to explore this CC plus, but can't now. |

| Hi from South Dakota..
I can't believe you had a peanut butter discussion without me. I think eveything tastes better with peanut butter. Celery, apples, ice cream, fingers, spoons... okay back to my trip. We are having a great time. Monday was the bad lands, Tuesday we went to Wy-Devil's Tower Devil's tower if you don't know what it is here is the link.. http://www.nps.gov/deto/ We walked around the whole thing in just over an hour.. Today is Mt Rushmore. It is my youngest b-day and he wanted to go to Mt Rushmore on his b-day. Devils tower was only 1 and 1/2 hours away from Rapid City. We are staying 3 nights here as the hub. The best is I am eating well with thought and control. The Comfort Inn like most places these days has a big breakfast. I have had 1/2 english muffin with a sliced Hardboiled egg for breakfast. I take an apple for a snack. Lunch has been salad - bake potato or salad soup..and dinner last night was mongolian bbq, mostly veges stir fried. We did have TCBY Monday nite, but I think that is low fat/cal..I am drinking lots of water, and walking lots.I am feeling good. This is my life, I can have my ice cream and peanut butter...but follow it up with a salad. Hi to you all my cyber friends. Miss you guys, who is planning our first meeting.. Vegas or Branson? |

| caroljoy- great job on the skipping the pizza.
I will have a good day low calories, good choices, tea, water, blah blah blah and get home after work and just wreck all the good I did for the day. So far I am holding my own, so I need to make new habits after work. I can't wait until the kids are back in school and we have a more normal week. Miss Munsey, but hope she is having a great time off. bejthin we have tried the ww pasta, and I don't really notice the difference. I wish it was the same color because the kids see the difference and don't like it before they even tried it. I have not been on my personal emails, so I have not seen the new cc plus. Looking forward to it. I love spell check. Okay can a Thursday be like a Monday? Today is starting off good. I am the only one shoving the food into my mouth, so I will make good choices. Like my good friends....caroljoy, munsey, bud, jcr, bejthin, gettinhealty, savarabbit, emillilly who am I missing ; ) Does it seem like we are just talking to ourselves sometimes LOL |

I have been to Mt Rushmore but when I as 13-14 with my family. Really looking forward to this family trip. My husband has never been and is also really looking forward to it. We will stay in Rapid City and do day trips from there. Wall Drugs, Corn Palace, Crazy Horse and of course Mt Rushmore there really is a lot to see there. I know we will only be eating when we make a stop, so that actually works good for me. I plan to have only water and apples in the car. I know it will be hot and I am big not drinking water, we will walk alot, so I am actually thinking this may be good for me. I do the worst Weekends and from 3-5pm daily just before dinner time. Glad to see JCR, Bud, Caroljoy and gettinhealthy post...hope munsey is having a nice vacation. Susan |

I am with munsey and bub to startup again. Although I am not really upset at myself for holding flat. I am just enjoying the summer. I agree with I think it was Bub about the water and logging realy keeps me honest. I know what I should have skipped or cut for the day. Well, Tuesday is just as good as Monday to eat healthy and be active. I biked on Sunday and walk everyday (well- I have a dog who would rather take a walk than go in the back yard- really he prefers the car) Have a great Tues all. Next week I am off to Mt Rushmore with the family. Really looking forward to the trip. My oldest is nearly 17, then 13, and 11..so I don't think we have too many family trips before my oldest heads for college. |

| LOL- wow - I missed a few days and who knew the moffia took over munsey-- did I say that out loud-- do you think munsey heard. ssshhh
great job Bub getting back into the pool I am logging and starting eating an apple a day. Really helps get me past some those bad habit times in the day. Right now my favorite is either Pink Lady or Jazz..next month the Honeycrisp will be back in stores..you got to try these apples firm tasty not too sweet.... When I went to a class in Feb on Women, Weight and Hormones --they talked about any fruit vegs skin you eat to get the pesticides off my soaking breifly in vinegar and water mixture. So right from the grocery bag b-4 they get in the fridge I am washing fruit/veges so they are handy..I am taking an apple to work daily and really gets me past thru the morning or afternoon Caroljoy- I totally get what you are going thru I was up a few myself total is only 7 lbs since April I am not beating myself up for where I could be today. I do hate the gaining losing gaining losing 5-10 lbs- i know how I got there I am glad it is not just up up up and away....just keep on checking in with us... we are here/hear for you all the scale talk just made me think of Gallagher, the comedian - his whole act was spashing things with a sledge hammer...watermellons...can you smash a watermellon with a scale....it is a visual thing I can't shake :) |

I am actually feeling good about my Plateau. It is not that up-down-up up up down up up up 5lbs that I had it the past. It makes me feel like (I almost said if) when I loose my weight I will be able to maintain. So- Keep on the sunny side always on the sunny side keep on the sunny side of life bc- do you have /// --- ** @@ to make musical notes? ---------------------On the bridge thing- it sure is turning into a media frenzie here and a place for politians to be seen. I am sorry it is that cynic in me talking. Don't get your picture in the papers on TV -- raise those gas taxes that have not been raised in Minnesota since 1988. okay I'm done-------------------- Munsey- would you add me to the list at the top with a total of 6 lbs. thanks |
