woohoo! great job Janay!

I'm doing really well this weekend too actually!  I count calories, but I never remember to record it at the end of the day, so I can only estimate.  I've been doing so well these past 4 days actually, I think for those days I had 300-400 cal deficit.  And the other 3 days I think I was at maintenance.  So around -200 per day?  and around 1400 deficit total?

my scale is definitely showing really high numbers though!  =o(  I think its TTOM soon so yeah.

I'm so proud of us for doing so well though, let's keep up the good work!

and wow, jogging = easy?  I swear, even walking makes me out of breath sometimes.

okay, so i know i shouldnt weigh so often and trust it, but i just need to rant a bit.

i ate really well today.  around 1300ish (which is awesome considering I often lose motivation or get the munchies and go over)

and I weighed myself at the end of the day and was 140.5  which is higher than what I was last night.

I wish there were a "without water-weight fluctuations" scale that just told me how it is.

end rant.

ooh, weighed in this morning at 137.4  *phew*

hi janay!
that 50 mile thing has totally gone down the pooper.  I'm so averse to the cold that I refuse to leave my room except for class.  I think I need to get through this rough patch (of work, projects, etc.) and I'll get back on track again after Thanksgiving.

How are you doing?

10-29:  139.2
11-5: 139.2
11/12: 137.4

Today  11/19: 138.5

I suspect that I was dehydrated at weigh in last week, plus, I forgot to weigh in this morning so I weighed in at night instead.  Perhaps if I remember, I'll weigh tomorrow morning and post that for comparison.

Where did everyone go?

also dont know my cal count.  The weekend was not good at all.

Got a good workout done on Sunday, but havent exercised these past 2 days due to the fact that it is absolutely freeeeezing outside!  Perhaps I should start working out in my room.

Deegee:  it means "that time of month".  It's quite a useful acronym since I'm pretty sure most men have no clue what it stands for.  Also, your calorie deficit is incredible!  I'm jealous of your self control and motivation.

Did a short 1 mile after dance this morning, although today is supposed to be my day off from running.

Ate after dinner again last night.  It's hard to not eat when studying really late Undecided, but thats okay.  I just counted it in my calories for today and I'm still doing well so far today.

poupe and janay:  agreed and agreed.
Whenever I at TTOM I get sooo hungry for the 2-3 days before, its ridiculous.  That means though, that if I still manage to do well those days that I totally rock.

And new groceries = overeating for me too.  Just because everything looks so fresh and yummy that I want to try it all.

I'm at 12 miles this month so far.  I had planned on doing 4 miles this morning, but my quads started hurting a lot.  I hope it's nothing too serious and that I can still run later this week.
I forgot that Thanksgiving is this month and didn't factor that into my 50 mile plan.  I'll have to work harder to make up for lost time. (most likely not going running since I'll be staying at a friends' house)

My cal deficit is never great.  I think I averaged 100-200 a day this week at most.  Darn you midnight munchies!

Good luck to you all, and feel better LMS!

good for you for jogging anyway, janay! Smile  It's hard to get motivated after a late start.

this morning I elliptical/jogged 4 miles after my ballet class.  I feel great! Laughing  I just finished eating a healthy lunch, and am off to class until around 8pm which means I won't be able to do my usual constant snacking ritual.

I wish I could lose 2lbs/wk, but right now, I'd be happy with any sort of weight loss.  Although, a 7000 deficit for one week sounds like a LOT!

I'm a bit disappointed since last week was ttom and I thought some of the weight was attributed to water weight.  Apparently not...

Going to the gym today for another 3 mile jog.  Hah, as further proof of my competitive spirit, I've started a competition with one of my friends to see who can complete 50 miles this month first.  It's going to be tough!

Oh! And I'm a college student too near Boston!  Smile

hi!  I didnt record my calories before Wednesday, but my calorie deficit after Wednesday wasn't great.  Somewhere around 200-300 I'm guessing, so I'll put it at -250 cals.

I did super well today!  Ran 3 miles and ate well.

Plus, I made that soup, and apparently the trick to the egg is that you need to pour it in slowly while stirring to get the wispy texture.

good luck to everyone, and thanks for organizing our stats!

yay! so i gave most of my halloween candy away, but unfortunately also ate quite a few pieces in the process.  Overall though, not too shabby.  I think I was around 200ish calories over maintenance.  Going trick or treating is a lot of exercise!  We walked around and climbed porch steps for 2 hours.

All the guilt from the past 3 days has kept me in check today.  Plus, my jaw is starting to click (I think I chew too much gum) so I have to drink soups and eat soft foods for a while, which means I will generally be eating very healthy.

I'm not really a breakfast person either, but I agree that it helps with night-time munchies.  Plus, it motivates me to eat healthier during the day.  I usually just have something around 100 cals like a Chewy granola bar, piece of bread, or fruit.

Not really looking forward to Monday's calorie check in...Embarassed but I guess that should inspire me to work harder, haha.

not the best day for my calorie-wise. great job to all of you though! I've been stress eating like crazy. midterms and pms all in a bundle this week. I think I need to sit down and have real meals more rather than snacking constantly. Those calories really add up!

poupe, 20 lbs in 10 weeks is amazing! If only I had that kind of willpower.

I think I will treat myself to a peaceful afternoon of magazines when I hit 137. I have been stuck at 139-140 for FOREVER it seems.

my low-cal contribution for the day is a egg drop-corn chowder:

bring about 2 c. water to boil
mix 1-2 eggs in a bowl, and pour the eggs over the boiling water, stirring immediately. (the eggs should get wispy)
Then dump in a can of creamed corn, and add salt and pepper to taste.
(add water to thin or cornstarch to thicken the soup)

This recipe is from my dad, but I've never accomplished the egg part successfully...I always get chunks of egg, still yummy though!

had an awesome day yesterday, worked out AND ate well.  Today, I've been stress-eating like crazy.  I'm definitely over my calorie target, but I dont think by too much.

Halloween is coming up!  Eeek!  I'm going trick or treating with some friends (heh, yeah I'm a bit old, but I'm really doing it more for  the memories than for the candy).  I plan on giving most of my candy away, ASAP!

What are you guys doing for Halloween?

uf.  Have not done well today eating-wise, but oh well.

Steph - You're at a great weight, I'm sure you looked fine in your swimsuit.  We're all just too critical of ourselves.

Jenn - You're so right that there are more important things to worry about.  I envy you for being able to keep such a balanced life and good logic during the process of losing weight.

I'm about to go cheap jewelry shopping to get myself away from food.  I haven't felt like buying clothes lately bc I keep telling myself I should wait until I reach my goal weight.  (I know you're not supposed to do that though, heh.)

I realized recently that I carry most of my weight in my midsection (my tummy) so I do some planks and crunches every night before bed, but outdoor cardio and gyms arent really an option.  I can't believe I only recently realized this!  Haha, realizing my body-type has always been so difficult for me, and I kind of always assumed I was a pear just because I thought most girls were.

wah! Cry I really need to vent, and i vented to my brother sitting next to me and he completely does NOT understand so here goes:

I was just tagged in some photos on facebook (which i promptly untagged) where you could see my belly and I totally looked fat.  It was really upsetting because I thought I hid it well Embarassed but apparently I dont.  Ok, that sounds silly, but its true...

I have definitely gained weight here in Taiwan where the food is good and my grandmother force feeds me.
I talked to her last night though about not forcing me to eat.  Plus, I'm mentally in a much better place than I was a few months ago when seeing pictures like those would have made me restrict (and probably binge) for weeks on end.
I'm doing a good job "listening to my natural hunger" and I have total faith that I will lose my binge-weight over time.  I just wish this would all happen faster!

I hope you all are doing better than I am!

I have 6 more weeks here.  and I'm hoping to have lots of fun, but not gain any more weight.

I know that when I get back to school in September I will lose weight as long as I keep listening to my body, but for now, September seems far away, and the rest of the summer seems like a very difficult challenge.

Steph - I completely understand, really.  But all the efforts we put in the long term really count more than a couple of sucky days.

Jenn - I'm so excited for you!  And wow, you're doing such a great job staying motivated and keeping up with your workouts.  Good for you!

steph, where are you again?  and it sounds wonderful!  hooray for summer vacations.

I've been quiet because I'm out of town for the summer.  I got a summer job in Taiwan so I'm over here working for the next two months.  Its so unbelievably hot and humid, that I completely lose my appetite for food (except for maybe cool drinks and fruit).  Nonetheless, my grandmother (whose house I'm staying at) attempts to force feed me yummy homecooking.  Sometimes, she takes food and puts it right up against my mouth when I'm talking so that I have to eat it!  Honest!  Every other sentence I say is "no no no.  I'm too full. nooooo"
hahaha, but that's grandmothers for you.

I've been walking all over the place, so lots of exercise.

I think I'm losing weight, but I dont know.  My grandma doesnt own a scale.  I'll just see how my skinny jeans fit every week.

Hope all is well in the various parts of the world that we're all in.

I'm sure it's just water weight, Jenn.  There's definitely been a downward trend in your weekly weigh ins.  You're doing great!

I on the other hand have been steadily gaining weight...and I'll be going out of town soon (for the rest of summer) to my grandma's house aka land of good food.

Today: 137  (but it's also ttom)

My hope is to get back to 130 (my starting weight) by the end of summer.  Must...Have...Self...Control!

Congrats on your weight loss, Jenn.  And have a great time at your bridal shower!

Steph - my mom is also deathly afraid of the heat, and so my dad bought this portable air conditioning necklace for her.  It's terribly tacky though, so she never uses it.

Welcome back Carley.  Your festival sounded yummy Tongue out

I've been reading this book "Intuitive Eating" lately about following hunger cues instead of constantly thinking about food or restricting, and it's really keeping my binges at bay.  Unfortunately, it's starting to get very science-y now, and frankly, it's summer vacation and I don't feel like learning serious stuff!  I think I'll just read the intro chapters if I ever feel disheartened again.

Today so far:

breakfast - honey wheat bagel, gala apple, coffee

planned:

lunch - salad w/ Sesame dressing (I'm excited, I've never had it)

gym, soccer game

dinner - ?? I might take my mom out to dinner.

I get bored easily at night.  Any ideas or movie recommendations?

today's weigh in 132.5 Frown I know its my own fault, but I feel so disheartened.

Steph - I'm glad my 500 calorie challenge is working for SOMEBODY, haha.  (Unfortunately I'm not part of that group).  I envy your willpower.

Every time I read everyone's posts, I feel so inspired...and then I get off CC and all this food is around me and all my motivation flies out the window.  I'm actually really embarrassed and frustrated by my regression.

I'm workin' on it.

I'm not positive that I had a 500 cal deficit yesterday, but I think I was close.  I'm going to count it as day 1!

I've had about 600 cals so far today and its noon.  I'm going to go shopping to keep the midafternoon munchies at bay.

Aiming for 1400-1500 cals today.

I just started ballet this year.  It's not the best cardio or exercise, but it works some strange muscles that I've never used before.  I get sore in the strangest places.

Steph and Carley, I was curious about those too so I googled them.  They sound sooo yummy.  Coffee flavored granola bar = pure genius.

Jenn, I'm so excited about your wedding!  Haha, that probably sounds strange.  I hope you post some pictures up for us to see. Smile

After I went swimming, I made a lunch of a healthy omelette, a small piece of baguette, a nutrigrain bar, a large apple.  And then I snacked on a few M&Ms.

My new favorite munchies snack is sunflower seeds!  I'm really slow at eating them.

I've been really off track lately with my eating too.  And trying to compensate for it with my exercise, but that can only do so much...

Fell off the bandwagon before I even got on it yesterday.  Crossing my fingers for a good day today.

Today so far:

breakfast - various snacks (around 300-400) <=

ran about 10-15 min (it's HOT here.  *phew*)

going swimming with a friend soon

lunch - we might go out to eat

snack - strawberries

dinner - soup, steamed broccoli, maybe steamed fish?

ballet class :o)

snack - cherry tomatoe

goal: 1400-1600

still waiting on Day 1.

Welcome "chubbygirl82"!  I've had trouble recently sticking to my weight loss plans, but the ladies on this forum really inspire me and keep me in check (so that at least I haven't been gaining weight).

I'm back home!! And for the first day I was back, my friends and family were taking me out to every single meal...oh well...

Now that the celebrating is out of the way, I'm going to start my 30 day challenge over

Things that are great about being home:
1. no more school!
2. access to fresh and healthy food. plus, my dad loves soup and always makes a giant pot, so I'll be drinking lots of low-cal soup.
3. more exercise.  lots of my friends are trying to lose weight too, so we have plans to go running and swimming almost every day

Today so far:

breakfast - giant bowl of oatmeal (160), chocolate covered raisins (40)

plans for the rest of the day:

lunch - piece of baguette (300), strawberries (50), scrambled eggs (150)

snack - baby corn (70)

dinner - eggs, corn soup, baguette (600)

snack - grape tomatoes

I'll be back later to post what I actually ate, haha.

Oh! and I forgot to weigh in yesterday so I weighed in this morning: 130.
Not really losing, but I will be!
