| Yes, you will have to research the STD policy with your company. Luckily my firm pays for the 3 months maternity leave.
Good luck. |

| Nenewa,
you will have to check with your HR department. I'm also a bit confused about the STD and FMLA. Luckily, my firm covers the three month maternity leave and I can also use any accrued vacation time if needed. |

| Hello,
I was on the Mirena for four years before getting pregnant. The first month was the worst with the bleeding and cramping, but afterwards didn't have any other side effects. I will have it inserted after I give birth in Dec. Good luck. |

| Good morning,
Hope everyone is having a great day so far. Wanted to check in to see how the week is progressing for everyone. Was wondering if we are keeping tabs on each other and if we will be having weekly weigh-ins? Since Tanaynay sent out th email on Monday, we should weigh ourselves every Monday to see if there has been any progress. If there are no takers, I can keep track. Just a suggestion but we should try and encourage everyone to stay motivated and make healthier choices. Maybe we can suggest an exercise or two to try for the week to try just to change up our exercise routine. I run 4 miles 5 sometimes 6 days a week and weight train 3x a week. I like to alternate my cardio between my tae bo tapes and the firm videos. I'm 5'10 and eat anywhere from 1600-1800 calories a week. Will catch up later. Have a great day. |

| I was also a diet coke junkie but decided to kick the habit in Feb when I got serious about losing weight. My starting weight was 242 and I currently weigh 185. I feel that it has really helped me with my weight loss. I was drinking 6-8 cans a day. Once you get over the first few days the cravings go away. My beverage of choice is water and skim milk an some juice.
It can be done if you really want to kick the habit. Good luck. |

| I would recommend picking a cardio you enjoy doing, whether its the treadmill, elliptical, aerobics classes, etc. Start incorporating weight training 2 or 3 times a week. I personally would recommend the push-ups. I have been doing push-ups forever and have toned arms and a toned chest. I can actually flex my chest muscles for my hubby (LOL). You should also do some bicep curls and exercises that target your triceps. Be consistent with your workouts if you want to see results. | |||

| I've lost 46 pounds and four dress sizes. I'm currenlty wearing a 12 but can fit into some 10's. I still need to lose 31 more pounds. to get to a healthy BMI.
I can relate with your posts. I have clothes ranging from 20 to 12. It gets really frustrating because I got rid of all my skinny clothes. I have brought a few items in size 12 but do not want to continue shopping until I reach my goal. I still wear my bigger clothes because I have not choice. That is when people want to comment - OH MY - you lost weight (LOL). I have not brought any new bras although I might do so this weekend. I'm still wearing my 42D's. My breasts have shrunk so much. I think I may be down to a B-C cup. |

| I really cannot pinpoint the way my body changed while losing weight. To date I have lost 46 pounds and am down 4 dress sizes. I still have 31 more pounds to go and it is really becoming a bit of a struggle. The remaining 31 pounds are not budging (LOL). I think I really started to notice when my clothes were starting to fit lose. I think after 20 pounds people started commenting but I told them that I have not been losing (LOL). I can say that my face and body have definitely slimmed down. I have lost lots of inches and my body is more toned. I currenly wear a size 12 and can fit into some 10's. My goal is to get into a 6 or 8. | |||

I run 40 minutes a day (4 miles) and am in the zone when I'm on the treadmill. Continue your workouts. |

| Safina,
Don't put off learning to swim. If this is something you really want to do than go for it. Why wait until you lose weight. The summer is almost here and you want to be able to enjoy the water. I learned to swim 3/4 years ago. At first I had the same feelings that you have now. How would I look in a bathing suit? How would other people see me? I took the adult classes at the Y and when I got there - there were woman and men of all sizes. Don't let your size discourgage you. Plus once you get in the pool, no one is looking at you - everyone is looking at the instructor - he/she should be the body conscious one (LOL). Girl - put on your swimsuit and learn to swim. Keep us posted. |

| I agree with Shill,
the more running I do, the perkier and higher it gets. I'm also a huge fan of the glutes machine. I usually do 3 sets of 12 (60 pounds). Don't rush through the sets and focus on your glutes every time you lift. You will notice a difference in a few weeks. |

| Fitness | Who runs every day? | Jun 12 2007 18:21 (UTC) |

| I agree with the posts. I run 6x a week. Some days are easier than others. During the week, I run on my lunch hour for four miles and make it back in time for work. On the weekends, I'm up at 6:00 am for a 40 minute run.
Your body will eventually get use to your routine so I would recommend pushing yourself a bit more on the days you have more energy. |

| Monix,
I'm on day 34 or 35 of Power 90. I started last month and have been seeing great results. Let me give you some background. On March 1st, I decided that I was going to lose weight. Was tired of carrying around the extra pounds (LOL). I went to my dr. for my physical and he okayed my plan. He told me to exercise 5 days a week and to have about 1200- 1300 calories a day. He told me to control my portions and to pick healthier choices (fruits, vegetables, lean proteins). He also told me to drink my water. I drink 10-12 8 oz. a day. In March I lost 15 pounds, April 12 pounds. Towards the end of May I found this site. I was reading the post and came across a post from deejlb (I am not sure how to link her page - try to locate it - you will be amazed at her results. . She had completed her Power 90 and had amazing results. On May 3 or 4th I started Power 90. I had ordered the videos years ago. When I pulled out the book with the calendar, I was surprised to see that I had ordered it in 2002. Five years have gone by and I was never motived to complete the program. I have been very consistent (the first month is the hardest). I run 4 miles every single day at lunch time and alternate with the strength videos every other day. I also do some pilates and yoga and I swim once a week. So I am definitely getting in my cardio. I am using the 3-4 strength video and it is becoming a bit easy. I am currently using the 10 pounds weights. Will need to buy some heavier ones this weekend. I also love the ab videos. Although I do my own variations at times. The last few weeks I have increased my calories to about 1500-1800 calories and am still losing weight consistently. Last month I lost 10 pounds and a few inches. Every Sat. I measure myself and the inches keep coming off. To date I have lost 37 pounds. I still want to lose about 30 more and I am hoping that Power 90 will give me the boost that I need. It would be great to share our experience as we go along. Good luck and I hope you stay motivated. |
