Well typically he should start feeling better 2-4 days after his first antibiotic dosage. Other than giving him tempra (or whatever pain medication you give him) regularly for a few days, plenty of fluids there aint much more.

You said he isint interested in the breast but really its best for him with all your antibodies and such so try and get him to feed as often as possible.

Poor guy, hope hes feeling better soon, and you can get some rest.

The Lounge How do I know if I can handle nursing? Jul 28 2009

Im a nurse have been for a mear 3 years and personally love it. The program takes over your life so get ready for it. There is no going out there is however studying +++ and hmwk. But IMO so very worth it I love my job. The best part of being a nurse is that it is not just one job you can do/work in so many different fields.

Good luck to you.

I think everyone is being pretty harsh. I believe if she came to help out/keep you co. she should do exactly that help out now im not saying majoy cleaning but maybe folding the laundry and picking up a lil bit. You and the kids are gone all day so that leaves her plenty of time to relax and do a FEW things.

...but maybe im a spoiled brat also.

Pregnancy & Parenting Stomach rash? Jul 02 2009

Oh BOY!!!

When I was pregnant for my son the last couple weeks 2-3 (had him at 37wks) I had the WORST rash on my back and arms and I cant remember what it was called but it was something that only pregnant women get the abv. for it was POP. It was gawd awful I wanted to take a cheese grater and use it to scratch....gross I know but I couldnt get relief since there was nothing I could take other than an oatmeal bath...that did nothing for me. It lasted for another 2-3 weeks after I had him.

Good luck!!

Good luck.

I second staying hydrated, and eating small nutritious light meals. Also soda crackers help some.

Good luck, and dont beat your self up about not excercising it will all be over before you know it.

Pregnancy & Parenting breastfeeding blues May 05 2009

Been there, done that! And bravo for having done it for 11 months thats great. I say if your tired of it then allow it to come to an end. She would be done with formula in a month or so anyways. The longer you wait at this point the more difficult it will be when you decide to be done with it.

And IMO at 11 months old there is no more getting up t/o the night shes is just doing it for comfort and that is totally normal, but up to you to put an end to it. She will learn to just go back to sleep without it.

Good luck.

Pregnancy & Parenting Potty Training..ugh Apr 24 2009
13:22 (UTC)
1

So its been almost 2 months since we started potty training and hes doing great. Hes had probably about 10 minor accidents in all this time. He goes on by him self now I will go check the potty and there is like 2 pees in there. He even has bowel movements  on the potty.

We still put a diaper on him at night time because he still drinks during the night and is still in a crib until Monday. But often in the evening he wakes up yelling "PEE PEE" so I put him in the potty at that time and his diaper is still dry.

I never thought he would be this great because he is behind in like talking, he was behind in walking so I was assuming he would be for this too...boy did he prove me wrong.

Thanks everyone for all of your tips.

The Lounge NURSES: do you love your job? Would love to hear from you! Also nursing students! Mar 20 2009
20:40 (UTC)

I have only been a nurse for 3 years, and I love it. Im currently working in long term care just until my son is old enough for school bc I dont wanna work 12 hrs right now.

My dream is to work cardiac but that wont be for a little while. It definetly involves a TON of paper work but I guess thats just the way it is.

In my opinion not just anyone can be a nurse it takes alot of patience and also you need to be willing to be in school for pretty much ever. There is always some course you should take to better your self so unless your willing to "learn" until you retire its prolly not for you.

Good luck!

Pregnancy & Parenting Daily routine for 7 month old baby Mar 13 2009

That is pretty much what my sons routine looked like at 7 months. I was always wondering "when should I change it" bc as they get older clearly it changes, they stay up longer ect But he did all of that on his own gradually he changed his own schedual even now at 2 years old he still has an awesome schedual.

Pregnancy & Parenting Son starting to have potty accidents Mar 12 2009

I havent read all of the other post so this may have been said but when my nephew was fully potty trained for over 6 months he began having accident (only pee tho) and turned out he had a UTI so its maybe just something to look into.

As for the preschool thing I wouldnt worry about it sounds like hes doing very well for his age. Just concentrate on spending as much time with him now until the baby is born, make sure he feels extra special, afterall he is gonna be a BIG BROTHER :) Good luck and remember in 20 yrs you will miss all of this :)

Pregnancy & Parenting What was your favorite Baptism gift for your child? Mar 12 2009
22:10 (UTC)
2

When my son was baptised he got many things and there still all sitting in a box. The best gifts was money and clothes I know it sounds bad but all that "stuff" IMO is just clutter, just bc you have all those things doesnt make you christian...again thats my opinion.

The money I put in his account for when hes older. The fact that you will be the godmother however you prolly should maybe get him something a little more personal like maybe a book or something special like that. Anyways good luck and congrats.
