i could see what you mean by "eating what you like" sounds fattening, but from what I read, it would be eating good foods, not pizza, cake and cookies! |

canadianguy is right. You're 170lbs, thus losing like 20lbs in a month wouldn't be really possible for you. The people who lose that much in a month have like over 50lbs to lose over all, and even then they'll probably hit a plateau at some point. Be patient. It could also be that you're not eating enough calories to trigger weight loss.

Congrats anjig! you look amazing :) I haven't lost 50 lbs...but i have lost 10! And that makes me feel great. I still have 18 or so to go, but I just have to keep on track. |

hey everyone so, today is going well for the most part. I walked a bunch yesterday, going to do a bit of walking today. i was going to go for a run but i don't have the time today. i'm supposed to go to a cookout, so what i'm going to do instead of taking the train the whole way is walk to the 3rd or 4th train station away from my place which is a little over 2 miles. Then I'll do the same on the way home :)

hey everyone! glad to see that there is a small group forming.
that's a good idea abfab. Michachu, i usually measure as well, but haven't been as of late. Should we set Thursdays as measure/weigh in days? Last night was no good. I went out for drinks with co workers and had one too many beers...that would also explain the 2lb that i gained since yesterday. So, today I'm sticking to leans and veggies. I'm also going to walk home from work, which is about 2 miles. Then I'm planning on just relaxing for a bit and going for a run later on. The other day I ran too soon after eating...that did not go very well. |

this is great because we're all kind of the same height, weight and goal weight.
i keep trying to count calories but i keep forgetting, or my social life gets in the way. plus i make like NO money right now, so i can't exactly buy the best food :( |

i agree with everyone above. starving yourself for 10 days won't do well, BUT, if you really want to do something, I say stick to shape shifter's ideas. also, i once read an article in Cosmo that in order to appear that you have lost 5lbs in a week to do the following:

I agree with gem, you should go see a doctor. You can gain weight healthily. Gaining weight doesn't mean that you sit around eating cookies and cakes all day because that WILL turn to fat. I suggest eating good healthy proteins i.e. eggs, chicken, beef, lots of veggies, some good healthy fats like olive oils, a little butter. But talk to your doctor about getting yourself on a healthy eating plan. High in calorie but in good calories. As a guy, you can do strength exercizes to build up your muscles and that would also ensure that your body will stay fit, but this doesn't mean that you should go overboard! |

wow this post just took off!
1. My spanish is near perfect, and he was a Spainaird, so there was no translation mix up. 2. I came home for 6 months and yes, I gained about 10lbs, and have 6 to lose til I get to where I was when I left, but i don't need someone to tell me! 3. I agree that Americans sugar coat things a lot more than over here. They're super upfront in Europe. |

thanks so much for all the kind words and support. i'm a pretty confident person, but what this man said just really hurt my feelings. you guys are all right, i need to focus on the positive comments instead of the negative.

hey gals! hopefully the people who recieved my chart are doing well on it. I'm stuck at 172..today I'll be going to the gym to run 2 miles and then do like 15 mins of other random cardio. I'm feeling kind of tired, so time to get some caffeine in me to get me going for a good work out! i read that if you drink coffee 1 hour before a work out, you burn more because you don't realize how much you're pushing yourself. |

Hey all! So, yesterday morning, 175, this morning 172. I defo think that was water weight. It's also going to be the TOM for me soon. THis weekend was pretty good. I didn't count my calories to the T, but I stayed in range and paid attention to what I was eating. I ate out, but subsituted fruit for fries, avocado for bacon etc! Good job me! I'm hoping to get to 169 by June 1st.....I hope it works! Anyone else who wants my plan, let me know! |

Didason, i know exactly what you're talking about. BREATHE! Eat your 3 meals a day, with snacks, stick to what you know is healthy, and ballpark what you eat in calories each meal. i.e. slice of bread=50-70cals, cheese slice=70, egg=110 etc. figure out how many calories are in Xoz of meat/chicken/fish, write it down and bring it with you! |

thanks for the advice madadi, but this is what i've been doing! i used to be a personal trainer in college, so I know all of that. I stick to proteins as snacks, good lean meats, lots of veggies and fruits, minimal carbs. NO white bread, pasta or rice...it's just frustrating! |
