Fitness Nike + and iPod Nano Jun 30 2008

Heya,

I got my Nano for my birthday. After i announced to a few of my friends that i wanted to start jogging they suggested Nike+.

Its not spot on accurate but it is good! You get little charts for each run to see your runs. Also its good to track progress! Ive gone from walking 2 miles to running nearly 4 and it looks amazing hehe.

I have found its a great motivator. I dont know if i would have splashed out on getting an ipod specifically for it.

have you guys not seen those padded pants that give you a bum? I love having a bum! Im always told its spankable ;).

If you are worried about it... look up some tips on how pear shapes should dress. Im sure there are some hints in there for disguising it if you are very worried about it.

The runners passing you know you have to start somewhere... the non runners you pass are wishing they had your guts.

This always makes me feel great whenever I pass people! The people passing me are like a goal that looks more achievable.

Good luck with it. Outdoors is amazing. I do hope you can stick with it and enjoy it in future.

Fitness Excess Skin... Apr 01 2008

I was told to use coconut oil lately - both on skin and in my diet. Apparently it is amazing for restoring, healing and general condition of your skin. Preventing wrinkles, sagging and age spots. I have read many articles saying that coconut oil actually penetrates the skin and aids your skins connective tissues and strengthens the deeper layers.

I have only been using it for 3 days so I cant really say if the results back up the research ( and there is some convincing research!) however my skin feels great whether it will help excess skin I cant say yet ;). Apparently its more of a preventative thing anyway, so i doubt I will stop using it. Its very nice!

Google coconut oil and skin to find out more.

Can I also suggest that you don't tell yourself "strict diet tomorrow". Thats just setting yourself up for failure!

Maybe try "I am going to be healthy tomorrow (with a smile!)"

Also find something to do if you think you may be reaching for something you will regret later. I come on these forums or get on the telephone! Just anything to keep my mind occupied.

Best of luck!

Health & Support painkillers and laxatives Jan 30 2008
19:48 (UTC)
I was recently on strong pain killers that bunged me up. I took Dulcolax. I just want to say, if your ok with PAIN and wrong noises coming from your body as well as vomiting - It works but it is not nice. I was in a proper predicament where by I had both ends wanting to go! Never again for me, Id rather be blocked up.

Activia is very good. I like the strawberry and cerial falvour :).

Your all so petite :(

I got stuck where I am (weight wise) last year. Stopped losing weight and fell off the wagon - thats at 14 stone which should still be easy! I stick to about 1500cals a day + exercise so theres no reason it should stop going down. Can't wait to get to 10 stone and aiming for 9! Hopefully I will keep going this time and actually get to say that phrase.

However I have a few Nike tops with hidden support in them does the trick. The tops are made for up to DD and i squeeze my H's into it... believe me nothing is moving them when Im wearing my Nike tops hehe.
Fitness Best Workout Songs? Jan 20 2008

I have quite a range. I go for new metal rock kind of songs. Usually good beats and angry lyrics really keep me going!

Bands I circulate include Jimmy Eat World, Trust Company, The Used, American Hi-Fi....I could go on and on.
I also like to go with top 40 up beat tunes but I'm usually too fed up of listening to them on the radio.

Welcome!

What keeps me motivated is results! From the condition of my hair, to my vibrant spot free skin, to the fact that my clothes seem to grow bigger every week!

My family,  who I live with, are nuts about rubbish food. I feel stupid sitting there with my healthy alternative but I am always satisfied by the taste while they all winge their dinner could have been nicer, not cold, more salty or complaining about missing items ect ect. I also only have to look at them to feel motivated. I am full of energy and look healthy...... they don't.

I love seeing what keeps people motivated. For me its observation that keeps me going.

It must be very frustrating :( I know I am kicking myself if I don't lose 1.5lbs a week. I think any exercise is good enough.. I dont think an extra 5 mins will make you burn fat!
I lost weight in my first month and I did absolutly no exercise.

If you are really thinking of sitting out for a month I would say reconsider! Think how many lbs you would miss out on losing if you 'dodge' or even worse.. you could gain!

Have you been measuring yourself? Since I started exercising I am seeing less results on the scales but more in inches.

    Best of luck to you.

I'm on my second week! Definatly feel better for it.

I did SIU for 3 days because my legs really killed me. I thought why not for RIU on the 4th day and I actually found it better than SIU. Legs hurt less now its more my tummy that is suffering. I have found it gets much easier as you go along. Debbie is right about gaining strength and form quickly, some exercises I really needed a break on that i don't any more.

Overall I'm loving it and I am already eager to do burn it up!

Anybody on here got any before and after shots?
