Well Hello Everyone

Im sure i made a post in here before < ive had a few false starts> Im at 258, and hoping to keep the scale moving.

Im drinking 96-100 oz a water a day.. my calories are hard to get in . I shoot for 1500 a day. But i tend to get about 1300. Now if I actually move my caboose around then 1500 is a bit easier to chew on.

Im lacking in exercize, but i just dont have the energy yet.. im sure when ive been on my program for a month or so... im hoping anyways.

Anyone know of a place i can get a good food scale? I bought one at the grocery store but i dont put much faith in it.

Also.. Ive been weighing myself daily.. as if the weight is going to drop off in 24hrs..lol  Made a small goal to stay off the scale until next monday. If i can get threw this week, then next week id like to try every two weeks. How offten do you all weigh in?

I got the wii fit just today.  Its works fine on our short carpet. The package comes with an extesion if you have longer carpet.

Hello.  I hope i can join you all.  My first goal is to lose 100lbs.   I started dieting last year, lost 35lbs then gained it back over the winter. atleast once a month i log onto cc and say that im going to start again... again, and again. At this point its not a start over but just trying to get back on track.  I figure ill try a new twist.. im not going to count calories for 30 days. I am going to just eat normal portions. My tummy needs to shrink a little to help with feeling full.. so i am going to cut my portions down to normal size and see how that works out.

So here is day one.  started with 1  package of oatmeal, lunch ive had half a chicken breast, and half a cup of rice.. before now and dinner ill have an apple.  Not sure what is for dinner tonight but whatever it is ill eat a normal portion.   Im assuming ill be around the 1200ish calories  most of my days.

Anyone else have problems with portion control?

Ive noticed since ive change my eating from 2 0r 3 meals a day to eating every 3 hours or so it seems to keep my sweet tooth at bay.

Hello Everyone

Ive posted here before been a long while. Thought i would share my last 4 months with you all. I hope my story will help somone.

I started CC in april of last year, weighing 263 lbs. I started watching what i ate, doing mild exercize and lost about 30 lbs. As of today I way 265, which is 2lbs heavier.  It took about 8 weeks to gain it back.  So.. My lesson is the understanding that this is going to be a life long challenge.

Its not just about walking the walk.. eating the right things. But about figuring out the "why"   After the 200 mark it wasnt about just not exercizing and liking ice cream.. after 200lbs its about filling an empty place.

So here i am , a new beginning. Same issues, but atleast this time i know they are deeper then the cookie jar.

I need to find a few weightloss buddies.  I need the real deal, no bsing each other. True accountablity... anyone want to start dealing with the real issues,  food, fat.. is a symptom. If anyone knows what Im talking about and wants to chat about the real issues.. send me a message.

Yup Ive has panick attacks and huge axiety attacks for many years.  It got so bad a few years ago that i stopped leaving my house... i went to the store once a week and thats it. We dont have insurance so i had to push myself to get out < i have 4 children>.  I started baby steps.. id take the kids to the park at 7pm when most families were having dinner so we could have the park to our selves. I started shopping at wallmart between 2am-5am so i didnt have to deal with crowds... Im not cured still have panick attacks but I am out and about and enjoying life again. Ill not let my fears and worries control me.

I recognize when im having a attack and I can then have a mental discussion.. this is only a attack.. every thing is ok.. a few big deep breaths, and sometimes a little time out..specially if im in a crowded place.. and i get over it and move on

Can i ask you something? Do they do this kind of thing with other subjects? Where you live, youre husband, youre job..ect? The reason i ask is.. I assume they do this opinionated thing to you offten.. its just this time they used youre daughter as their subject. If thats the case then you need to define some bounderies for them. I know we cant pick our parents, but we can pick what we talk about and what activities we take part in.

About a week or so ago i found 2 bikes at a garage sale for 20 bucks. Anyways I hadnt used tried either out until lastnight.  Its amazing how reading these forums gets me motivated to try new things. Anyways I went on a bike ride, it was great I forgot how free bike riding feels.  I prbably havent rode a bike in 15 yrs. LOL this morning when i woke up first thing i thought of was.. I wonder how far i rode.. maybe 4 miles... hmm I should drive my route and see..lol

This might sound dumb, but is there something you can add to youre bike that can tell you how far you rode?

Am glad to see you back!

No i dont know ya :) But Hi there!  Not sure what youre story is but mine is.. Joined cc.. stayed strong for 3 months, lost 25lbs.. gained 3 lbs back.. and im still not 100% back. 

Not sure about you, but Im ready to step up to the plate< no pun intended> lol   

This time I want to eat right, get my arse moving and drink a small lake!  Im thinking do this for 3 months.. then take 2 weeks to maintain.  Im starting to understand that  i want to learn how to maintain.. and still have self control. Maybe in 6 months do 4 weeks strict, 1 week maintaining..  I know sounds wierd.. but when i fall off the wagon.. if i fall off the wagon I dont want to gain what ive lost!

Anyways sorry for the long post, its getting late and i tend to ramble on.. Nice to meet ya

Plz try the freecycle!  It is wonderful,  someone just gave me 3 workout vids.  As for the grocery bill.... I have started doing two things.. buying my vegies fruit from a fruit stand which saves me alott of cash.. also I dont eat much red meat lots of chicken and turkey... so for sandwichs.. I cook a turkey!  Shave the white meat for sandwichs, and i use the dark meat for turkey rice soup.  Just cut it up and freeze it!

Hello everyone. I hope you have room for one more :)

I started my healthy choices last year with putting down cigs. That was great.. down side was i gained about 50 lbs and i was allready over weight. I joined CC about 3 months ago and was doing great. I fell off the wagon for the last 2 weeks but I am here and ready to get my weighloss grove back on!

So i weighed 263 when i started, 237 when i fell off the wagon.. and this morning the scale read 244.. I might be at a 5lb water gain ate tons of salty things but no matter its still not 263 which is where i started.

I hope everyone found out where the tools are. If not plz post and ill be happy to guide you to them.

Ok. This is how I feel about it.

I go to the pool every day. And sometimes I get looks for being so over weight. I hvae a friend that gose to the pool and she is also very over weight. When people "stare " at her she just starts saying hello, how ya doing.. hi  ect until she gets to where she is going to lay her towel ect down.  I think she kind of admits ya i see you staring at me, yip im fat.. ya ya so whatever... how ya doing people, it sure is a nice day... Well people just smile back and say Hi, yes it is a nice day.

What Im saying I guess is her confidence, mixed with her knowing she is fat gives her the air of this is not new news folks. Also helps that we go to the same pool everyday so adventually you do get to know people.. 

Just dont stop going to the pool it is great exercize, it makes perfectly good sense to go there.. keeps you cool and you can get exercize that dosent beat up youre knee joints!

Hi everyone, Im just starting out today. Just a quick run threw of who I am.. 36,4 kids, 1 husband, 1 turtle and bird.  I weigh 243 as of today, Ive lost 20 lbs.  Im trying my hardest to drink enough water.. I need over 100 0z's im lucky to get 90. Anyways i see very good weight loss weeks on the weeks i drink enough, very strange! Also i walk between 2.5-5 miles a day. So this weeks challenge to eat 1 of each food group?

Great job ..12lbs way to go!   Why not celebrate by eating a whole wheat muffin? or buying some yogurt and add a bannana and straberies a few ice cubes and blending it

Starting weight 263, todays weigh in said 245. I want to be at or under 200 by Holloween.  My goal weight is 150-135  Its been so many years i dont remember what "felt" good so I'm leaving it open. Its not the number or the cloths size for me.. its my energy level and to beable to skate, rollerblade ect with my children.

Ofcourse the cloths size and the numbers are wonderful.. but to beable to rollerskate or race my girls and not be out of breath!

Hello, i was just reading threw youre posts. You all seem like very honest, friendly people.

ive been here <CC> for about 5 weeks or so ive lost 17 lbs. Im looking forward to my first 20lb mark:)   Dose everyone use the food guide everyday?  Ive been using it on days where i know ill over eat.. or that i can feel myself with cravings.  I have a general idea now of how many calories are in the things i eat and i just add them up in my head.  I stay away from junk food, eat vegies fish and chicken< i need to get more fruit in>

What kind of exercize dose everyone do here?  I walk between 2.5 ans 5 miles a day.  I swim almost everday ..but i spend alott of that time just cooling off and hanging out.  Anyone using free weights? Im thinking to buy some this weekend.  10lb or so to start with ya think?

Anyone else have problems with ice cream? lol i have 2 lil girls and i treat them to ice cream acouple times a week.. ive been letting myself get the sherbert.. i know has alott of sugar.. but oh well this is just about my last weakness.

I weigh myself everyday. Somedays i can go up as high as 4 days..then the days following it i will lose it and an extra pound or two as well.  I know that depending on my sodium intake I will gain and lose.. so i weigh everyday so i know if Im slipping up on my salt/water adjustments. I use to be terriable in how i viewed the scale but it works well as a tool.. the scale dosent define how much ive been working my azz off.. it dose give me an idea of how things are balancing out. I weigh myself in the morning.. every day I love to see the changes

My weight is not the same as yours, but i weighed 263 a month ago and i now weigh at 246.  When i first started my right knee hurt alot, so i would go around the block 1 or 2 times. Then i began increasing it to 2 or 3 times a day... then began increasing the distance. At any rate i am walking between 2.5- 5 miles aday. I can still have discomfort in my knee.. but as soon as i get home and rest it gose away.. not really pain but a little pressure now.

I have a great idea for you. I have read some articles to help get me moving... one article was about using canned vegies and just lifting them. Try doing that 10 times..lifting the cans... but do it a few times aday. If you find that too easy...add more reps.

Another idea... I do this also.. Go swimming.. in the water you dont put as much weight on youre knees and joints.. you could walk around in the shallow end. And it also keeps you cool. This i think is the best idea. Im not sure about you.. but I was totally nervous about going in public with a bathing suit on. Well i was a little uncomfortable at first but now i dont even wear a cover up i just walk down the street in my suit. i just couldnt encourage you enough to get into the pool... nice cool water..

Another small tip. I drink 2 cups of water before i eat. so i feel full quicker. You can eat so much food.. you really can. I eat more now then before i was calorie counting.

You CAN DO THIS..  You gave birth to two children.. fed them took care of them when they were sick...ect.. So you have it in you to be caring and nurturing.. its time for you to be caring and nurturing to yourself... Its youre turn!

Hi Marathon_girl, yes it dose justify. Check on how many calories you burn during youre runs. Its works like this.. 1200 calories plus how many calories you burn working out.

Hello everyone.  I just wanted to intro myself.  Im 5'5, started with 263, mornings weigh in is 256. I know its water weight but ill take any loss as a good sign.

Ive noticed that im having a hard time eating enough calories. Geesh i must have ate mostly junk food in the last 5 yrs.  i was eating 1 meal a day, then ice cream, donuts ect.  so 3 meals aday plus snacks seems like alott to me.  Im eating about 13-1500 calories, im suppose to be eating 1550. Also im losing about 5 or 600 in work outs ever day. So ... a question,  If im suppose to eat 1550 in calories, and i work out for 500 calories.. im suppose to eat 2050?   if so .. that is alott of low fat/low sugar food.

Hi everyone. i just found this site a few days ago and am very excited, ect.  I know how this works tho.. i get all excited and get a good start on a new diet plan... then a holiday or someones bdays pops up and i fall aprt for a few weeks.

I think accountabilty is a useful tool. So im just going to tell everyone here my plan of action is not to cave in for holidays or special occasions. Atleast not until I have my eating under control.i know tha sounds silly... but sometimes you need to say it or type it out loud:)

I'm currently at 258, was 263, just started a few days ago. Im looking forward to chatting and giving/getting support for everyone here.
