Quisp and Quake are both gone. I was a Quisp kid myself.
I buy Quisp for my husband once or twice a month at a market downtown. He loves it. |

| Foods | survey about.. chocolate! | Jun 27 2008 20:12 (UTC) |

I have to recommend a couple of bars. DAGOBA makes dark chocolate with lavender and blueberries, and dark chocolate with cherries and vanilla beans. My gosh, are they good! Half a bar is only 157 calories, and it takes me 40 minutes to eat it because you let it melt to get the flavor/aroma all out. I bought it at my health food store, so I would look at those if you are interested in trying it. |

I tried the chocolate dip. It tasted sour and gross. I wouldn't waste my time. Plus, I thought about what I was showing my kids- It's okay to eat chemicals if you want to lose weight. I try to only feed my kids whole, fresh, nutritious food. I felt ashamed, and threw the rest of the jar out. Then, I went and bought a high quality ice cream, and ate a responsible serving with my children. A sweet snack with real ingredients, that didn't kill my calorie budget. |

I wish I could FIND the 99%. I love the 85%, and it lasts me 5 days, as I allow myself 100 calories of chocolate per day (most days. Sometimes, I just don't want it.) Where do you get the 99%? |

<quote>and there was about 10 times when the microphone was clearly visible at the top of the screen....ridiculous for a film with that budget, you'd at least think they'd manage to edit that out.</quote> Just so you know, that isn't the fault of the movie. It is the fault of the projectionist at the theater you went to. Most movies are filmed like that, and if it is framed right, you can't see it. You probably had someone who just threw it on, and didn't double check. You were actually missing the bottom foot of the picture. I hope you didn't miss any of the shoes! (That's part of the movie, right? I wouldn't watch the show, so I am not really sure.) |

| Weight Loss | How did you keep yourself going in the beginning? | Jun 21 2008 23:04 (UTC) |

I kept going because I didn't want to stay where I was. I have lost more than 116 pounds since March 06, 2007. I have about 20-40 to go, depending on how I look when I get there. |

Atkins or South Beach bars are the best I have found. Most of their varieties are around 180 calories, and have only 1-5 grams of sugar. Most of the other brands are sugary, nasty garbage. My kids hate to eat breakfast, so they grab an Atkins bar every morning. |

I agree with you, techdog. It is nobody's fault but our own when we make bad decisions. The first step in fixing a problem is admitting that you are the one who has both the problem, and the power to fix it. I have lost more than 115 pounds so far, and have about 40 to go. I have gone from a sie 26 to an 8/10. I still have an occasional binge, where I eat nothing but junk, and hate myself the next day. I don't see anyone else filling my plate, so the changes have to come from me. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! It gets a little easier, though we never seem to totally lose our bad ideas and habits with food. You can come out on top, too! As to why someone is still on CC if they're so "perfect"; maybe CC helps you get to that point, and you want to offer encouragement and advice that really works. Nastiness and spite never help anyone. |

| Foods | Confused about Cream Style Corn | Jun 12 2008 21:52 (UTC) |

One seems to have more sugar and carbs. Check the ingredient list to make sure that it is only corn, with nothing added. You have to be really careful. My mother bought dried fruit, and the second ingredient was sugar, followed by corn syrup, coloring, and flavoring. YUK!!! |

I read in a women's magazine that you should scrub your butt and thighs with the leftover grounds during your next shower. The tannins and caffeine in the grounds helps improve the look of cellulite and loose skin. I don't drink coffee, though, so I have never tried it. |

I have the same problem. This guy smells like he eats a whole head of garlic every day, and he passes gas at least 5 or 6 times during every yoga class. I am not sure of what to do, but I wanted you to know you aren't alone! Maybe you could bring a freshener spray and lightly mist the area around you? He might get the hint. |

Your job is to watch porn and comment on it. The actors' jobs are to look desirable. If that was your job, you could nothing but work on yourself all the time, too! It was probably easier to deal with the constant reminders of sex when you had a partner at home. Now that you have decided to go your separate ways, you feel like, "Everyone wants these girls, but I don't have ANYONE!" whether it is true or not. How many people really want a relationship with the girls who are in that industry? I am sure there are some, but not as many as would be pleased to know a smart, well-spoken, motivated woman like you. Just keep on going. It is how we react to the bad in our lives that shows our true character. Hang in there! |

I will throw away a meal if any two food items touch. YUK. I eat all of each item before I move to the next, and I turn my plate so that only that food is directly in front of me. Woe be to you if you use "my" fork. It must be washed right after I use it in case I need it again. I have a lot more, but I already sound weird enough! |

| Weight Loss | how much can I lose in a day? | Jun 04 2008 13:52 (UTC) |

Drink only liquids for a day. It will rid your body of food weight. You will pop up a few pounds when you eat solids again, but for the weigh-in... I use Naked Juice Superfoods and a soy chai tea protein drink found in the produce section of Wal-Mart. Just make sure you get as many calories as your body needs. During certain times of the year, I do this two times a week. It keeps me feeling "clean". |

| Foods | Peanut butter and why it is addicting | Jun 02 2008 18:43 (UTC) |

It is called butter because of its consistency. There is no butter in PB. Most of the time, it is just peanuts, salt, and sugar. And PB and peanuts ARE good for you, in a normal amount. You just can't eat cup after cup, bar after bar. I would love to eat PB more than I do, but I know my limits! |

Since I have never seen anyone so ugly that I made a face when I saw them, I KNOW you aren't ugly. You are YOU! That makes you precious to us all. As far as anyone who makes a face? Maybe they just realized they aren't on any magazine covers, either! Now, list three great things about the way you look for us. We know you can be negative, and we want to support you in the positive parts, too! |

I'm Catholic, so I picked up the booklet, "Catholic Answers to Jehovah's Witnesses" and committed it to memory so I can argue the cause if I choose to. If not, I offer them a Catholic pamphlet and tell them that I will take theirs if they will take mine. Not once has any group accepted. HMMM. |

I am 5'11" and a size 10, but it is getting baggy. I think I was a 14 at 250. I am a pretty muscular female with a large bone frame and big boobs, so I weigh a LOT more than most people guess by looking at me. I am 205 right now, but someone guessed I was about 170. |

Thanks, Shandykat. I needed to hear it. Even after 110 pounds, I still feel like I don't know anything about weight loss! Cassie- be gentle with yourself. You are going through a lot right now, and you can't afford to use the last of your emotional energy on a dumb food struggle. Work chocolate in every day, and make sure to take time to exercise. It will make you feel better armed to take on the day! Good luck! |

I was just dealing with this issue a few minutes ago. I have been sick for 4 days, and haven't been able to work out at all. I have kept my calories really low, and just ate some ice cream. It was in my calories, but when that bowl was gone, I felt like I deserved more, and got up to get it. I stopped myself by asking if I would feel better when the second bowl was gone. Other than soothing my throat, the first hadn't done anything for me. I put it away and didn't eat it. I am worried about gaining weight from the four days I have been unable to work out. I am 5'11" and 205 pounds, and have been eating 1600-1800 a day. I am really worried that I will be up, even though I have eaten well. I am so close to being under 200 pounds for the first time in 15 years, and I am scared that getting sick just messed it all up! |

My kids just found Kraft Mac N Cheese crackers! They are shaped like elbow macaroni, and are little cheese crackers in the big familiar box. I love Kraft, but can't allow myself a little, or it becomes three boxes! |

We had a similar challenge in my town. My 15 year old son ate the whole thing in less than 5 minutes (fries included) and won a t-shirt. He then ate his sisters french fries. On the way home, he ate the half of my meal that I boxed up to go, because he got hungry. The wonders of the teenage metabolism! He is very tall (6'3") and muscular, with not much fat. It is just not fair. I swear I gained 2 pounds watching him. He doesn't eat like that all the time, BTW- he just wanted to try for the shirt. |

I am with you. I actually try to avoid meeting my husband's employees, because I kind of think they'll lose respect for him for being married to me. Even now, after losing 110 pounds and being a size 10 at 5'11", I feel too big to be comfortable meeting people. I am also putting off meeting my dad after 23 years because I don't want him to be ashamed that I am his kid. I want to be proud of what I look like and know that I won't embarrass him before I return contact. |

Original Post by nosouix:I am with you. I have lost more than 110 pounds, but I hate looking at myself. Everyone tells me I look great. All I can say back is that I may look better, but I still don't look good. Maybe I will feel better when I am under 200 in 4 more pounds? Maybe I should post some pics to see if anyone else can see the difference? I went from a size 26 to a 10, you'd think there MUST be a difference! |

As of this morning, I have lost 110.8 pounds using Slim-Fast! Of course, I was out of mine, and had to drink a strawberry. Ick. As long as you make sure you get enough calories and exercise, the SF plan works great! I can't imagine doing without it. I really enjoy it, and recommend it. |

Tell them a version of the truth. Tell them that you have been to so many parties, and have so many coming up, that you are "caked out" and will choke on your next piece! Something I have done is to take my husband's plate when he finishes his cake and walk around with it for a few. People just assume that I ate it. Either that, or take a tiny piece, and smush it around on the plate, so it just looks like leftovers. |
