| I'm with you. It's like teachers are trying to squeeze everying in from the semester that got missed along the way. I've been really struggling against the urge to go crazy and eat everything in sight. I found chewing on carrots a good alternative. It's healthy and keeps my mouth busy. | |||

| I agree with you on the skinny fat and like the way you put it. Exercise is important to looking toned and fit. I would rather be a little over weight but toned than be a healthy weight with no muscle or definition. Being soft is no fun no matter what size you are. | |||

| Also, there are a lot of reduced sodium varieties of food out there as well, just like low fat stuff. Try reduced sodium salt. | |||

| I used to be part of a low sodium weight loss program. A typical amount of sodium per day that I consumed was 1200 mg, or half of the guidelines. Part of the program included having at least on teaspoon of reduced sodium a day. While I feel that less is better, and that the 2500 mg is a maximum amount you should have, sodium is essential, especially if you are working out. I don't think that working out gives you an excuse to consume for than the 2500 mg a day, but you shouldn't deprive yourself either. | I have a really difficult time following videos as well. The ones I have found success with are Fabio Fitness (yes with Fabio) which is a weightlifting video, and Windsor pilates. I also like videos by Denise Austin. Every once in a while when I feel really goofy, I even do Richard Simmons. It makes me feel like a big dork, but its fun. | |||

| Do you have pain with the bloating? I was bloated every day with severe pain for four months and someone suggested it might be a gluten alergy. Gluten is found in wheat and bread. As soon as I eliminated it from my diet, I felt 100 times better. I remember researching about it, and having a gluten allergy or sensitivity can also cause problems with your period. | I agree. Your metabolism changes with age. What used to work ten years ago, will most likely not work now. Five years ago, I was able to eat a whole bag of potato chips and ice cream and not gain a pound. Now if I eat a single chip, its like I gain a pound right then and there. | |||

| I've had a similar situation happen to me. With the nice weather we are having lately, I got out all my summer clothes. The only problem is, none of them will fit over my hips. I am on a tight budget and can't afford a whole new wardrobe. The good thing that came out of this is now I am more motivated. I just think how great it will be to fit in my summer clothes again.
Don't let this bother you too much. Just enjoy yourself. Bodies change a lot, especially in the years after high school. Hello! freshman 15? It sounds like you are honest with yourself and have realistic expectations, so you are on the right track. Spend some extra time on your hair or nails or shoes. Just try and have fun. |

| Are you logging everything you eat? It's really easy to eat a small amount of food and not include it in your calorie count. However if this occurs several times a day, it can add up quickly and really hinder your weight loss.
Could there possibly be something else that is effecting your loss? Some health conditions make it more difficult to loose weight, for example hypothyroidism. Another idea that I can think of is maybe you are not eating enough. If you underestimated how active you are, your body may go into starvation mode. |
