| I'm actually looking to lose 20 lbs by New Years. Anyone here wanna help keep me honest? Give me a shout back please. I know I have to get a lot of running and spinning in and I've done it before. I'm starting at 165 lbs and I think a reasonable goal is to be 145 by the time the New Year comes around [I want a head start on all the new year's resolutions ;)]. I hope someone here will be my partner (I'm sure I'll need the support over the Christmas holidays the most). Thanks for starting this group etrandem. | |||

| I actually have no problem at all with drinking a glass of Merlot with my meal, in fact I drank it for a few weeks while in Tx on a working trip and I found that I did lose weight. I may have been more cautious with my food choices and such...but I will always opt for a glass of Merlot with my meal if its offered to me.
I remember hearing a news report that they did research with rats/mice or whatever and they reported that the mice that had the merlot in their diet were not obese, so I've always thought that's why I lost my weight....hmmm...maybe I should do an experiment with myself and have a glass with dinner every night and see if I'm able to lose weight (I'm in a rut right now) |

| Thanks for all the great advice. I'll have to try little bits from everyone's comments and hopefully one will work for me. I don't think I'm over training....I'm doing about 50km in 90 minutes, I don't think that's fast at all, so I definitely don't think I'm over training...I think one of the main reason why it may feel like i'm bonking in the middle (or 3/4) into my bike ride is because it seems that I always seem to have the wind in my face for the last 1/2 of my work out. I am remembering to keep my tempo btwn 90-100 and I even have some music on my nano that ensures that I keep in time with its tempo [good trick if I say so myself ;)]. To speak on my running schedule...I am running on the days that I don't ride...so I think I'm being pretty balanced in that respect. Swimming is my strongest leg of the race, so I haven't been sprending that much time in the pool, I actually find it hard to fit in swimming around the other events...anyways, thanks again for all the great advice, and like I said earlier I will try out different ones and let y'all know how it worked for me...my first is going to try and find Cytomax I think....has anyone heard of a juice named "Nectar" or something along that line? A body builder at work was telling me about it to help with recovery faster....I'm not sure if its going to be right for me???

| Wow, its great to see so much support! That being said, today I need it. I didn't think I ate too too terribly this weekend, but I haven't weighed myself for the past to days (yesterday and today) and I'm just afraid to get on the scale! I feel like my stomach is HUGE today...I'm thinking about going for a long run today and hopefully that will help me feel less enormous....just trying to think what I did wrong this wknd that would make me feel so gross. Anyways I'll stop feeling sorry for myself and get my butt going on a run! Wish me luck that I'm motivated enough to go ;) | |||

| I have 30 lbs to lose by August!...ok have to...thats a strong statement, but I really want to! The only problem is, is that I don't have a reason why I'm 30 lbs over wieght didn't just have a baby). We will help each other out though! I really need some great motivation myself. | |||

| Just wanted to say that I completed the couch to 5km podcast...and it was awesome....I used it more for helping speed up my 5km, but I think the word should get out there about this wonderful podcast...my 2 cents | |||

I found it on iTunes however I believe the gentleman that made the podcast has a separate website...maybe if you search for couch to 5k podcast or something like that it will turn up. I really benefitted from this routine, I know you can use your watch and mp3s but its just so handy, you don't have to keep track of anything...its just really useful... anyways, I hope you and others take advantage of this free workout...sorry if I sound like I am a used car salesperson, but I just really really think that anyone beginning to run can take advantage of this podcast as I did |

| If you're thinking about doing learn to run I have a GREAT pod cast you should download. If you don't have an IPOD yet....I think its worth it for this PODCAST!! A guy...don't know his name....actually tells you when you should run/walk/cool down etc. I did it and its a 9 week program to get you to run 5km. I personally though it was incredible, and I hope he has a 10 km soon! | |||
