| Weight Loss | Please give me an honest opinion-- should i wear bikini? | May 31 2007 20:50 (UTC) |

| honestly, i think your friend is an idiot!
unfortunately some people have insecurities and deal with them by trying to make others feel less attractive... i dont know your friend but she shouldnt have said what she did, especially since you look great and you should be proud to look like that in a bikini! |

| kaddy - you are right you dont need to exclude anything from a diet completely if you are capable of eating it in moderation...balanced diets are by far the best for you...but as for someone like me, where one piece of chocolate becomes the entire package - it helps to completely cut it out so then my body becomes used to it, accepts it and forgets it. there are other sources of "sweets" like fruits and veggies | |||

| i did this a few times too.... it felt great to detox but this is not good for weight loss, you will end up gaining all the weight back anyway once you switch back to cooked processed foods... maybe not too much weight if you eat whole foods, slowly reintroduce them into your diet. Good luck! (raw almond butter is great-super creamy) | |||
| Weight Loss | caffeine? | May 23 2007 19:43 (UTC) |

| sometimes they claim it makes you crave sweets, which is why they advise against it.... i actually feel coffee is the opposite as if it was an appetite suppressant, and also a diuretic (sp?) which helps with excess water weight. | |||

| i take multi vit from Solgar - chelated.... i dont know much about them but was recommended by a nutritionist.... they arent cheap but i agree about the mainstream ones not being as good and not absorbed as good as others but i would have to do more research to make this info more accurate | |||

| Weight Loss | swimming? Bad for weight loss?? | May 22 2007 21:22 (UTC) |

| i swam on and off most of my life and i have to admit as boring as swimming in circles got, i noticed i had more defined back and abs when i did stick with it.... as far as the arms... i think i have the fat arm genes... anyway try alternating swimming and other exercises like running or elliptical, or what i used to do (and should do again!) is sweat my butt off on whatever equipment and then jump in the water for half an hour. keifer sells this belt pouch for like 50 bucks that comes with water headphones so you can stick your music player and swim laps for hours... | |||

| hi! i am vegetarian but for only over a year, and i have to say i have no reasons for going back to eating meat. as much "crap" as i have to hear from my meat loving family to this day, i am happy to say that is well worth it. i feel better and i def have more energy... i dont get that sluggish heavy feeling as when i did before. i do exercise but nothing compared to you im guessing...:) but i do cardio for an hour 6 days a week.... its an overrall *refreshing* feeling. Give it a try. i think you will see for yourself and your body will tell you (and thank you). oh FYI i did vegan for a few months but i became deficient of essential fatty acids (is my guess) and my skin broke out horribly - i started taking supplements with all omegas and eating more foods with flax seeds and slowly it got better.... i think i was just not watching what i was eating and didnt pay attention to what i wasnt giving my body that was necessary. ALSO important is B-12... which a nutritionist advised me to take in liquid form... something about your stomach HCL not letting it absorb to the fullest so best under the tongue straight to the bloodstream....
anyway good luck with the marathon and if you do decide to give it a try, let us know how your're doing! |

| hmm i think i might try it... nothing else seems to be working....but i am vegetarian so i guess i will have to rely on fake meats and just eat lots of greens... it will be hard without eating fruit though thats all i eat.... my motivation is that the weather is getting nicer and no way is this body seeing a bikini as is! | |||

| Weight Loss | Oolong Tea for weight loss?? | May 17 2007 21:29 (UTC) |

| i know there are some oolong teas and green teas that claim on the box that they will make you lose weight... butt fine print is also extra bowel movements... so if thats the tea you speak of i wouldnt recommend it only b/c its not safe to use any lax for weight loss... but if its not that diet tea then nevermind :) | |||

| i had the same problem... i started to eat more calorie dense food like nuts, peanut butter, and i add avocado to salads which is delicious.... from what others taught me on this site, dont let it become less than 1200 cals/day... so if thats all you eat, and then burn for example 500 cals, then you need to eat at least 1700/day. hope that helps a little.... good luck! | |||
| Foods | What (food) are you hooked on?? | May 17 2007 16:45 (UTC) |

| i have to add, the most expensive food i let myself splurge on from time to time are "rawe-o" cookies (~$8 for 9 small cookies), and raw almond butter (~15/jar... although i recently discovered trader joe's started selling it for 5.99!) with raw honey(~10/jar)...
i am not a raw foodist because i wouldnt be able to afford the yummy tempting treats like these.... but i'm mos def leaving hints for my bf to buy me rawe-os for my birthday! |

| hi everyone - i was 120 when i first started CC, then in one week went UP to 124.... so after reading great threads i realized that i was not eating enough. I am going to weigh in this friday, and i am nervous! ever since i added more calories, thats all i feel i'm doing, eating eating eating, but i would really like to lose 10 lbs ASAP.... you all are great motivation, thank you | |||

| Weight Loss | i'm eating more! dum dum dummm | May 15 2007 15:23 (UTC) |
|
| so yesterday, i only thought i was eating better... i never thought i would have a problem with eating enough food. I consumed 1598 cals, but burned 760 - so i was still under 1200 for net.
i felt like i was eating the entire day, just munching on things every minute... i didnt even want to put anything else in my mouth by the end of the day. Will I really not drop a pound if i keep this up? I wont stop exercising because I enjoy it and it makes me feel good, and i dont believe in taking breaks from it either because that could easily turn into a very long break - I also added more calorie rich foods to my diet but seriously... is that really why i cant lose weight because im not eating enough? it doesnt seem fair (whiny voice) :) |
