Off the wagon!  Trying to climb back on....

I'm in a slump...I haven't worked out in 4 days.  Haven't logged my food in 5 days.  I didn't eat well.... bad weekend!

I did start logging food today and I plan on working out tonight...if I don't come up with some excuse not to.  My neck/shoulder has been hurting and I have a therapy appointment after work.

I keep telling myself not to do this because its so hard to get back at it... the working out every night, the carb (Chips--4 100 cal packs!) withdrawals.

Is anybody else in the same predicament as me?

Does anybody use protein shake mix from Costco?  How do you fix it?  I have the vanilla and I tried it with water (to keep calories down - there is 110 in the mix) and some frozen berry mix...... yuck!  Couldn't handle it.  I realize that not everything that is good for you tastes good too, but I really can't drink it like that.  Now I have this big tub and I need ideas.  I am really trying to keep it low calorie.

Thank you for ideas.... I am nowhere close to 50% protein.  I really need to up it..... so I can bring it!!

No Problem!  I was where you are about a week ago.  I don't currently have any bands.  I am thinking about getting them though.  I uses weights for most exercises.  You may want a band that has more resistance then 8lbs, you will need more once you get stronger!   I would say that if you can do pull ups, then you probably don't need them.

I actually bought the pull up bar and a pull up assistance band and I still can't do them so I feel like I'm not getting a very good back workout.

Hope this helps a bit.

Hi Everybody!  Happy Friday!  I did my shoulders and arms for the first time last night and now I can safely say that my whole body is sore!  In a good way though.

Anyway, I wanted to ask you all about your diets and what specific protein shake do you like.  I have followed weight watchers in the past and have been logging on cc for quite some time, so I feel like I have a good handle on what I'm eating....at least calorie wise.  My fear is I'm way off.  I have a food scale that I do use, so I think that's accurate.  My biggest problem is even tho I eat fairly healthy, I still have way more carbs than protein.  For some reason, I find the P90X nutrition book hard to understand and follow.  I never have the time, energy or money to follow the recipes to a T.  What do you guys do?  Plus what, if any, protein drink do you use and how often do you drink it?  I was thinking about buying the Whey protein powder from Costco

I'm still alive!  Did plyometrics last night for the first time.  It was hard and I pushed pause a few times, but I did it!!

A few years ago, I was in really good shape (tho not much thinner) because I was doing a cardio/bootcamp type kickboxing class at our gym.  They changed instructors and it became like a step class and I'm SO uncoordinated that I stopped going.  I was so amazed to find out that a lot of what we do in plyo was what I did at that class.  Its no wonder why I felt so good at the time.  I just need to keep at it.  I am feeling more positive today.

Tonight is shoulders and arms and since my arms are already sore, I'm not really looking forward to it. Surprised

OK.....Me again.  I'm probably annoying all of you with all my questions!  I started last night!  I'm doing Classic, so I did chest and back.  It wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be.  I did my push ups from my knees.  I have been doing normal push ups regularly over the past few months, but obviously not correctly, because I couldn't do them last night.  But, I've never used push up bars before.  I couldn't do them all, so I would just do regular ones while those were being done.  Can't do the incline at all and I was all over the place with the dive bombers.  I guess I'll have to go over a fence if I ever need to get to the other side!

Since I don't have my chip up bar yet, I used a band I have for that part.  Its not very resistant so I have to stand super far away from the door to feel it.  I used weights on the rest with no problems.

On the Ab ripper X.......um, no, couldn't do all that either.  Did about 10 of each and the ones I couldn't do at all I just did regular old fashioned crunches so I felt like I was doing something.  Is this how you all started?  I feel like I'm super uncoordinated and I shouldn't be doing this because I couldn't do it all correctly.  I'm going to keep trying though..... Undecided

Has anyone used the pull up assistance band that you wrap around the top of the bar and put your knee through to take weight off and help you do your pull up?  I thought those were the bands everyone was talking  about, so I bought one because I wanted all the equipment so I could start as soon as my p90x was delivered.  Now that I have it and watched the Bring It dvd, I see you are supposed to use the ones with handles.

Also, does anyone have Powerblock dumbbells? Howdo you like them?

Thank you all so much!  I love this board everybody is so helpful.  One more thing.......

What plan is everybody doing?  I was thinking about Doubles or Lean.  I'm 30 years old, 5'3 and 154 lbs.  So I want to lean out and tone up.  I have been working out on weights with a trainer so, I think I want to continue lifting.  However, I do want to lose fat.  What do you think is the best way to go?

Thanks!

Candace

I  have read so many posts and it sounds like nobody likes yoga?  Is it really that bad?  Also, I am supposed to get the whole system on Monday.  The pull-up bar won't be here until Thursday.  Can I start the program without it?

Thank you so much!  I'm nervous, but I'm going to stay positive!  It's helpful to know that there are a lot of you in the same boat as me.

I'm going to start as soon as I get the program (Monday or Tuesday).  I'll keep you informed.  Do you guys do the workouts in the morning or at night?  Do you switch it up depending on what it is?  I have to be at work at 8:00 am and I HATE mornings, but I will force myself to do it a couple days a week, I just don't want to everyday.

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to all this.  I ordered the P90X and I should have it Monday.  I belong to a gym, but its so hard for me to put together a routine, I thought this would work for me.  I have always worked out with a trainer.  Guess I need someone to tell me what to do.

I know that I can't do a pull up/chin up.  I never could in school.  I did order a pull up bar from Amazon and thought I would try.  I didn't know I could get the bar or the bands.  I thought you definitely needed the bar and you could get the bands or free weights.  I want to build some muscle, but I really want to lean down and tone up.  What does everybody else have?  Do I need to buy and the different sizes of hand weights?  They are expensive.  Plus, since I belong to a gym (the whole family does), its hard for me to put down the money and buy weights.  I guess I need to get that out of my head.

As for stats, I'm 30, 5'3 & 1/2 (it counts!Wink) and 155 pounds.  Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
