Hey, I'm glad you came to CC. It is a great site with people that support you even when you can't keep yourself standing.
I have a post called "My attempt at dealing with food addiction". Take a look at it, and customize it. Keep it in your bathroom and make it your mantra in the morning. If you stick to it, and keep at it everyday, it might help with your perspective on food.

Hey alyssa2012 - I really want to do that 3 day Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. Man, it costs!
phillygirl629 - I have this posted in my bathroom near the mirror. I review it out loud to myself every morning to keep myself both motivated and focused on my goals for the day. Awesome idea!
vertigal - I did write this myself after months and months of feeling depressed. I simply began to think of food like this (which I admit is silly)
"FOOD and I were lovers. Every time I was hurt or stressed out, I would run to him and even though he wasn't good for me, he was always mine. I hid him from my parents and friends because I was ashamed of him, but I loved him anyway. Then, one day I took a look in the mirror and realized what he had been doing to me over the past few years. He was making me isolate myself from the world and the abuse could be seen in my walk, my talk, my face, my eyes. I was being abused and now I had to admit it. We broke up. And now, I have to redraw my life with him not in the picture. I am so use to him comforting me, that I had no idea what to do when he wasn't there. I saw him on the street and avoided him like the plague. I knew this wasn't going to work for long. So, I made myself promise to myself (the most important person in my life) to change for the better of me and leave the old boyfriend out in the wind until I'm strong enough to face him again without flirting
I decided to limit how many times I weigh myself because it is an obsession, which I found is part of the food addiction. When you are obsessed about your weight, it is a shift in your mind from your obsession with food, to an obsession to the affects of the food you eat, which is an extension of the addiction. I used to weigh myself up to 5 times a day.
Also, when it comes to the little indulgences, they are incorporated into my daily food schedule, with the exception of those trigger foods. I abstain from the trigger foods because I know I cannot control myself when I eat them. So, until I can say "no" to them and really mean it (my body doesn't yearn for it, or my mouth doesn't water thinking about it), I have to avoid them all together.
Thanks lilahdoll, kaoleary, nsackey, and smwhipple for your posts. I wanted to help others who were dealing with the same issues as myself. Please take it and customize it as necessary. Always remind yourself of the good things you do! And, if you follow this plan to the letter, that dessert won't be a problem this holiday season. ANGEL

Cool. I am currently training with a coworker/buddy of mine for a half marathon next October (were going to speedwalk 14 miles Here are my stats: 5'4 25 years old Started at 201 lbs. Got as low as 159lbs Currently at 170lbs Looking to get down to 145lbs, so I have 25 lbs to go.

Hey, I am currently around 170-175. I am fluctuating and I really need some motivation to lose about 30 lbs. I want to be a healthy BMI because there are prevelant diseases in my family and I need to prevent them from happening to me. Plus, I want to wear a tank top without thinking about my muffin top spilling over my jeans. Anyway, I wanted to create a group for us so that we can all weigh in everyday to hold each other accountable and motivate each other. Maybe list our menu for the next day, so we can just follow that instead of "going with the flow" of eating (I know that is one of my major problem areas). Let me know what you think. Please add me as a buddy so I can read your journals. I would love to get to know people who can relate to my struggle. LOVE ANGEL |

Hello all, I ran 1.5 mi today. I found out that if I run 4 times around my complex that it is 1.5 miles! Thanks to favoriterun.com, I can find out how far I run anywhere I go. I reccommend it for anyone who does outside running. -msangelh |

Hello all, I'm Happy its Fall, the best weather to run in! Unfortunately I was stuck on the treadmill today. I left my running shoes at my in laws. Ahhhhhh! I'm so forgetful! Our treadmill is a death trap. It's so old that you have to crank it to get the speed to go up or down and I can feel the belt stopping and going under my feet when I run. So, I ra as much as I could. Please add 1.5 miles for me. In addition, I am missing 3 miles from the week between 9/11 and 9/18. I was checking my progress on the spreadsheet and noticed some miles were missing. I agree with terri135, this thread is what keeps me "running". Hehehe! -msangelh |

Hello all, I finally did 4 miles in one session! So add 4 miles for me this week. I have been making excuses to not run and now its time to stop. My boyfriend was supposed to be helping me stay on track but its obvious he's not the best at it. He started making up reasons why we couldn't run, especially when it was raining. He was more concerned about getting wet than I was. I am working my way up to 5 miles in one session which is one of my goals. So, progress at best. I hope all is well with everyone. PS: The number of runners is very small |

| Hello all, Finally, I get to post for the week (technically last week). I guess you can add 3 miles for me for this week since I ran Sunday and Monday, but didn't get a chance to log them in. I am in Atlanta right now and I am running in the local parks here, which are beautiful with thick foliage. I left my running shoes again, so I bought some more. They are quite nice for the price. Hello, I am posting for Thursday night because I've been so busy and haven't had a chance to post. I am so frustrated because so many things have been getting in the way of me running. I've done only 1.75 miles since then. I am definitely running tonight. I want to get 4 mi in tonight.

Hello all, I did 4 mi tonight (Aug 28)! That is the most I've done in one day. My boyfriend pushed me to do 4 mi instead of 3.5. And, my time is getting much better. I can tell because I am finishing my run much earlier than before. I am so proud and so inspired by the runners on this thread. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INSPIRATION TO RUN CC WORLD RUNNERS! Hello all, I am working on getting my distance up but I think I should get a solid 10 mi a week going before setting any more goals. I did run a whole mile non stop on Saturday night! Yah me! I've got 1.5 mi last night. Man, I ate some fast food and then went running about an hour after I ate... I almost threw up on the track. I'll NEVER do that again. I can't even stomach fast food anymore. I guess that's a good thing. I'll make up my missing miles tonight, though. Now I can run 3 laps non stop! I'm creeping up to one mile nonstop. I need more time. I hope everyone is having fun and doing well! I ran 3 miles today! It was the first day I ran on the streets instead of on the track. It was harder than I thought. There were HILLS! Man, I pushed so hard, and I did it. And my ankles are getting stronger because they aren't hurting as much. I smelled the first smell of Fall today. Weird but true. Have a nice night everyone! |

I've got 1.89 mi done tonight. I just realized that instead of .25 mi per lap, I was actually running .27 mi per lap due to my running in the 5th lane instead of the first. It makes a difference I guess. I didn't get to the whole 2mi because it started raining.
Progression at best. My ankle didn't hurt today. |

Hello all,
I have another 2 mi to add today. I ran extremely early this morning (1am). I am going to need to invest in another sports bra and ankle braces (my ankles are very sore). I walked a little though which helped a lot. I am trying to stay true to the Learn to Run Thread. I wonder if running helps to build up ab muscles because I noticed my abs were a little sore after I ran.

PS: I just realized that I don't have many friends on CC probably because I haven't added any. Is it cool if I add some of you WorldRunner Teammates as friends? |
