Kung Fu? COOL!

Lady martial artists kick butt.

Wow, yes I would love to have you as a bud.

I guess we can just report to one another our daily goals and if they get met, and support each other when we are fallin down.

It happens..

Today, I did 70 min on my elliptical and I am doing 55 min tonight and practicing forms 20 min.

Vegetarian Thinking about becoming vegetarian... Nov 16 2007

1st off good for you! Becoming a vegatarian is a good healthy choice of lifestyle. I was like you , I started altering my diet over the years without really trying to go veggie, I did it on my own in stages, I only ate chicken and seafood, by the time I read the book skinny bitch, i decided for a number of reasons like yourself to jsut cut out the crap and go veggie.  It was easy. But, I decided I would only eat the veggies I did like.  I focused more on fruits, but I found I loved sugar snap peas, edamame (aka soy beans) broccoli, salads, and beets, and so on and so forth. I started introducing veggies in one at a time. Now.. I just buy frozen green giants healthy weight mixed veggies, and that is what i love.  I gave up dairy with the exception of eggs. This was a personal choice, and I found that my IBS has disappeared. No longer does my stomach have issues.  YEAH.. I have more energy, my face cleared up (it was getting adult acne..) I am loosing weight. YES..

I just 2 weeks ago cut out all wheat, oats, peanut, corn products. This was hard. But it really seems to be the way to go for my. I got the book eat right for your blood type and although I dont agree with all the things said in it, I have found that sticking to this does seem to be working for me.

So.. I will keep it up. I got the book from my Eating disorder therapist, and I have been to a dietician as well. I am doing great with my eating disorder.. Week 3 no relapses. So.. It is all a personal thing. I do alot of reading on how diets affect our bodies.

You can do it how ever you choose, just do what feels good to you. If you slip up occationally, no worries, we are human. Just go back to your healthier lifestyle immediatley there after.

Again, good luck and check out the website goveg.org or .com.. not sure which.

Weight Loss plateau Nov 14 2007

For me, when I would plateau, I would drop my calorie intake down to 1200 and work out a minimum of 1000 calories for a week, that got the scale down. Extreme.. HELL YES, but I am an extreme lady!

You look fab babe, do cardio.. lots of running or take up Taekwondo.  Both or combined took all that fat off me.

It is good for your soul and mind and especially that bod. Good luck!Cool

CoolFirst off, Congrats on being a Blue belt in TKD! TKD LADIES ROCK!

I am a 1st degree Black Belt, and TKD IS the best way to tone up.  Your kicking drills, and forms and fighting movements, especially sparring will make you rock hard.  My rear and legs became like steel, and my upper body and abs sculped like washboard, all those pushups and sit ups in TKD.

Running will tone you as well, but it isnt as fun to do as TKD, and you are half way to Black belt!

Dont quit! It is quite the accomplishment to earn the Black.

The last movie that made me cry was Radio. It touched my heart that Cuba Gooding Jr, could touch that profound happiness that a human being without prejudice can touch.  I love uplifting underdog movies, that lift my spirit.

What can you do and will do from this day forward to help save our planet from global warming?

Even though you dont want to do it, please eat. You are so pretty, and I understand what you are going through. I too have suffered this ED since I was 15. But you must realize that you do have worth. You do matter, and you are loved. You may not think you are, but you are. Life can seem pretty bleak when you are a teenager, but there is a big fascinating world out there, and you should see it. If you can take your focus off of yourself, and your problems within, and try to help someone else (you will see yourself getting healthier). Helping someone else will make you feel better inside, especially about yourself. It may even help you not worry about the counting calories, and just worry about filling your need to eat. Dont let anorexia win. You are way more important than that. No one can do it for you, you must be the one determined to win. Dont let yourself curl up in a ball and not exist, because if you are thinking that.. it will be so. Think positive good thoughts, because what you think about .. you bring about. Think about being cured, and not worrying about food. Think about being surrounded by love, and friends and family and good times. Think about your future career, and the wonderful things you will do with your life. You are important! Find a hobby or interest that will take you out of your funk. Something you enjoy doing OUT of the house. Rollerblading, Martial Arts, Soccer.. ?? Good luck.
Foods My favorite new grain ... QUINOA Oct 15 2007

Just a question.. where did you get the nutritional info from? I have been buying bulk quinoa for some time, but all i ever could find was 1 cup UNcooked quinoa was 166 cal.  I did find a website on Quinoa that said it was 256 cal COOKEd.. so I jotted that down for future reference. Since it is so high in fat and protein that sounded right.  But.. I just wanted to double check with you.

I LOVE this stuff.

Foods Cal Question about Organic Peanutbutter Oct 11 2007
18:38 (UTC)
Definately the best peanut butter to eat. This is per my dietician.  It doesnt have the refined sugars of JIF, and is nothing but peanut goodness. That oil is good for you. Not bad, when looking at calories, I try to not use as much of it. I use a teaspoon instead of 2 tblspoons  on my waffle or sandwich. 1 tsp is 35 calories. NOT BAD.

He wasnt even cranky.. cept a day or too, and that was pyschological.

Vegetarian The book "Skinny Bitch" Oct 02 2007

Read the book, INSTANTLY became a vegan. I had been halfway there for years, I havent eaten red meat in over 5 yrs, and the only thing I had to give up was chicken, and fish and dairy and refined sugars.  NO SWEAT! I am on week 2  and doing wonderful.  It would be easier if I didnt have to look for eggs in ingredients, and look for the bad sugars .. but hey.. I feel GREAT! I have a cup of ginger tea with soy milk and raw sugar everymorning, fruit when I get hungry.  Salad for lunch along with a sandwich .. pb & j or soy turkey and soy cheese.  I eat organic bread, and I have soy icecream bars for treats.  I love endangered species dark chocolate.  I am SET..

But.. the one thing I have noticed.. I can not eat whatever I want. Unlike what the book says.  I must stay within 2000 cal / day. or i gain weight. So.. I still have to watch it. WHICH SUCKS.

Just make sure you do your research, and .. work your ab muscles till they are 6 pack  status, b/c after the surgery you will rely soley on them to get up and down.

Been there done that.. but I am bulemic, so I just purge. HA HA..

I hate it.. so I am trying to keep to a schedule very similar to yours.

Run away from the binge is what works for me. But.. sometimes.. U gotta do what ya gotta do, then Set things right the next day.Laughing Forgive yourself, and then try to do better the next day.

i forgive others so easily, but it is really hard to forgive my weaknesses. Get a dial a friend when you are in such an emergency.

I need a dial a friend.. But dont have one yet. My spouse volunteered, but I dont want to burden him with it.

Weight Loss 5'4 and 5'5 140-150lbs? Sep 05 2007
17:22 (UTC)
7

I am 5'4" and my weigh in this morning was 146.8. I wear size 6.  I am trying to get down to my goal weight of 125.  I was down to 132, but it gradually crept back up after I got married in February.  I have 2 kids 13yr old and an 8 yr old.  I have been trying to be accountable to someone.. ANYONE.... b/c it is easier for me to have to weigh in and report to someone. I went to a dietician and lost 8lb in 6 weeks, but after that, I put almost all back on, b/c I lost her as my cheerleader.  I am a admin assistant by day and a Taekwondo instructor in the eve, I run 8-10 mi. every morning, and I work out again 30min- 1hour at night. I am a pig, I love to eat. I log 1900 cal per day, but here lately I screw up at night, and eat about 500-600 more than I my daily goal. THUS the gain.

I need an accountability partner. Any takers?
