I agree with the others, please seek outside help for your eating disorder as you are still struggling so much. We cannot and will not help those who are not already in active recovery. If you don't know who to turn to, please consult the following two threads for information.

Also, here is a gaining thread which possibly can give you some information and guidance.

We hope you are able to find the help you need.

How tall are you? At your age you should be gaining as you are GROWING! If you are concerned about bowel movements up your fiber intake to about 25g a day.

The short answer is no.

When your BMI is below 18.5, and your doctor hasn't said it's okay - no. You shouldn't be exercising. Focus on managing calories at an appropriate level and getting to a 20 BMI. You should not exercise as, firstly, you need to focus on your calorie intake not output; and secondly, you need to give your body time to heal back to a healthy weight before you put it into stress conditions where there could be injury. FYI, if you do any exercise whatsoever, you need to eat back those calories + some more.

Keep at it, you can definitely do it and we will support you!

Weight Gain Advice? Feeling extremely full at just 1650 cals... Nov 21 2009

The discomfort is normal. Eating more relieves it. You need more calories. I would not wait any longer. Instead increase to 2500 and see what happens; it's a good place to start.

Increasing shouldn't mean massive amounts of food either ... a bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter is not a big snack and really is an ideal one. Avocados are calorie dense but are light foods to eat. A PB sandwich isn't large but can be 300+ cals.

If you haven't already I'd check out: THE AIM IS TO GAIN: A Guide to Weight Gain, Whatever Your Reason - UPDATED as it has other tips and food ideas, too.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but CC cannot and will not support you losing 15 lbs by Christmas unless you are very very overweight.

Calorie Count Plus's mission is to promote healthy and sustainable weight management.

A safe rate of weight loss is generally considered to be roughly 1% of your body weight per week.  For most people ~1-2 lbs per week is about right, assuming that you are not underweight to begin with.

Under a doctor's supervision many people do lose at a faster rate, particularly when they have a lot of weight to lose and the health risks of losing at a very fast rate are evaluated by the doctor against the risks of being overweight.

You can look like you've lost weight when you actually haven't by working on developing muscle and eating healthier.  Muscle takes up less volume for the same weight and most people think it looks sexier.  Eating healthier tends to give your skin a nice glow which makes people think that you've changed something in a positive direction.

Weight Loss I'm probably doing it wrong. Nov 20 2009

Unfortunately if you are consuming less than 1000 cals a day it makes me think you are potentially going to relapse. That's a starvation amount of calories. I suggest you reach out to your recovery team, doctors, nutritionists and counselors and discuss with them what you have told us here. As g-jane stated your weight is perfectly healthy but your approach is very dangerous. Please follow her instructions above.

Calorie Count's mission is to promote healthy and sustainable weight management. Please help our moderators follow this vision and respect the following guidelines.

  • Your post is subject to modification or deletion by our moderators. Repetitive, off-topic, disruptive, and frivolous posts will be removed. We will take down any posts that violate either the letter or the spirit of any of these rules.
  • Promotion of starvation diets or habits that exhibit signs of an eating disorder ("pro-ana", "pro-mia", etc.) is prohibited.

112 lbs. at 5'6" is underweight.  While I can certainly appreciate not wanting to feel fat, I think that you've taken this to a bit of an extreme. You are certainly also eating way too little for the amount of exercise you are doing.

Calorie Count's mission is to promote healthy and sustainable weight management. We cannot and will not support underweight goals.

If you are truly gaining (and are an adult not a growing teenager) on the amount of exercise and little calories you consume, I suggest you contact your medical professional.

What you are doing sounds dangerously close to the makings of a relapse, please be careful!

If you need help with meal plans and getting a more healthy version of 2500+ cals in I suggest you read this thread THE AIM IS TO GAIN: A Guide to Weight Gain, Whatever Your Reason - UPDATED and also join the Weight Gainers, What Did YOU Eat Today? thread.

Calorie Count is all about healthy weight management. If you don't get your cals up we cannot consider that you are being active about your recovery and we only support those who are in active recovery.

From your other posts I know for a fact you are still not eating enough. Please seek professional help for your eating disorder. We cannot help or support those who are not in ACTIVE RECOVERY. You are still eating so few calories and are clearly not in recovery. If I were you, I would be very worried about your teeth and other bones because of your long-term eating disorder. Losing a crown might be the least of your worries.

doctorgrim, if you don't like the thread, move on. The OP's initial post was not innapropriate or against posting guidelines, even if you don't like what was stated. You made your point, move on. Feel free to make another thread if you want to take your points further. Your opinions are welcome but are beyond the scope of this thread.

xuopdiva, I did not remove posts I believed were inappropriate. I removed posts excplicitly against PGs (far fewer than I truly wanted to remove, trust me). And I 100% agree with you, this forum is supposed to be supportive for EVERYONE. Let's keep it that way.

To everyone else, I say one more time, if you don't have something relevant to the OP's initial post/question or something respectful to say (on either side) your posts will be deleted. Keep it civil.

Weight Loss What do you do when you crave something really badly? Nov 19 2009
04:40 (UTC)

6lbs in 4 months and you are only 101 lbs now, but feel like a "whale" (you said this in another thread). I am sorry but I have to agree with gi-jane. You have to seek help for your disordered thinking and bingeing (and you admitted that you have tried to purge but cannot and want to go back to anorexia and be 90 lbs by Christmas!).

Calorie Count is all about healthy weight management. WE cannot and will not help or tolerate those with disorded eating patterns who are not willing to seek outside help to get into recovery.

Your eating patterns show it's not about just resisting eating a muffin or an order of fries or something, it's something much deeper. I am really sorry you are struggling but I do hope you find the help you need.

This thread is on the verge of being locked because an open, honest, and respectful dialogue about the involvement and God/faith in weightloss appears not to be possible?

If you cannot say something nice DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. Basics, people!

Get the thread back on topic, say your piece and move on. Do not argue or attack people for their beliefs. Make your point and move on.

Health & Support blood pressure questions Nov 18 2009

Maya, we have told you many times before you are so dangerously thin that anything we tell you can potentially harm your health. You need to ask these questions to your doctors, not to us. If in doubt, please go to the emergency room. And you still are not eating the minimum calories Calorie Count supports for ED recoverers.

Weight Loss Here's my binge list. What's yours? Nov 18 2009
13:52 (UTC)

This is a very old thread and is no longer falls within Calorie Count's mission to to promote healthy and sustainable weight management. Bingeing is disordered eating and needs to be taken seriously. A productive way to cope with binge eating disorder is not to list your binge foods.

Please seek professional help where needed and abide by posting guidelines.

Health & Support what do you do after a session of binge eating? Nov 18 2009

This thread is over a year old and the OP hasn't been on the site in a while. Please feel free to start a new thread if needed but be aware that Calorie Count does not support those with EDs who are not actively seeking recovery.

Posting guidelines:

Health & Support CC Health and Support Board is not an ED Forum Nov 18 2009

You are right in that H&S isn't an "ED website", it never has been, but we do not turn people away, or delete or lock posts, that do not violate posting guidelines.

As we have told everyone many times, every decision to lock or delete a thread is made carefully, collectively and thoughtfully. Some of us spend hours on CC every day fulfilling our roles as moderators.

Some threads have been moved in H&S that are of an ED related nature. They are not in violationg of guidelines, otherwise they would have been locked. The Weight Gain forum is explicitly a forum for those trying to gain weight. The Health & Support forum is for those with health concerns - ALL health concerns - this includes eating disorders. Moving them from one forum to another is not "cowardly" as you not so nicely state - it's what we have done for a long time, nothing new!

There is a rule, as you point out many times, that pro-ana or pro-mia posts are not allowed. That does not mean all ED posts are not allowed however - just those that violate posting guidelines.

I want to point out that there are a lot of threads and issues we deal with behind the scenes. Just because you don't see every action I take as a moderator does not mean we are being cowardly or that we are somehow enabling pro-ana posts. It's quite the opposite.

However, that being said, we are human and are volunteers. So if there is something against guidelines that we missed please feel free to use the "Report Violation" button to let me know about it. Believe me, we address every concern reported.

mutoko, congrats on the loss, even if it seems slight the trend is DOWNWARDS which is where we want to be. Feel good about it, afterall, it has only been ONE week!!

crystal, we will support your 105lb goal weight, let's do it together!

Anyone else?!! Let's get those weigh-ins in so we can track the progress!

I had a good night. But the fish tacos and 2 cosmos were surely not necessary for my diet plan. Even though I definitely indulged today (I also had two SKVLs at Starbucks) I did resist the desire to eat a container of Peanut M&Ms and a container of cashews in my hotel room. So I consider this a successful day.

I hate to be harsh, but you say uou are afraid to gain fast? Isn't that the idea? You need help from an outside professional, without medical supervision and therapy your road will be tough.

I am posting the same answer from your other thread (I locked that one since it's a duplicate topic):

Original Post by crystal319:

Is it to late to join this challenge? I'm trying to lose 10-15 pounds by the new year. My stats are:

HEIGHT: 5'1

SW: 112

GW: 100

LTGW:95

Not too late at all, anyone is welcome anytime!!

But your goal is too steep at this point to fall within the goal and mission of Calorie Count of healthy weight management. Can you modify it to a healthier goal?

We only support a 1-2% loss of BW per week, this means a maximum of 12 lbs - and that is on someone who is probably heavier than you. You have my stats pretty much exactly, so are definitely not overweight - though I obviously understand the desire to trim down, tone up.

95 lbs is definitely too low as it's nto within the healthy BMI range. Calorie Count would support a low weight for you at about 105 lbs - which is my goal. Can we do it together??

My weighin was 111 this morning. I will take it! Wish it was more but since I am barely dieting it's ok with me. I did work out twice over the weekend, just need to stop munching! And today I had a disastrous fast food dinner cause I am traveling and was sooo hungry. Will try to be better the remainder of my trip.

ocean_girl88 Congrats on the good weigh-in and the glimpse of even better weigh ins!

kfirth, don't be bummed about this week cause last week was so good for you!! You are still doing amazing!
