Weight Loss Nutrisystem Jul 11 2007

I did it for 3 months.  It seems impossible to stick to.  I had to throw away most of the food from the third month because I just couldnt stand eating the same thing over and over again.  Dont waste your money.  Anyways its probably better to learn how to lose weight the old fashioned way with plain old diet and exercise (It sucks, I know).  You cant live on nutrisystem foods forever-trust me.

i had mine set to sedentary and tried to eat back the calories I burned off and I ended up gaining weight.  Then two days ago I changed my setting to light activity and just started eating 1800 calories even with my exercise and I have already lost 4 lbs.

My calves are the biggest so far  16.5" at the widest part on both legs.    Im 5'4, 232 lbs.  The worst part is, is that I'm an 18 year old girl and I just want to wear the cute stuff that girls my age wear.  I feel like I'm missing out on my youth.

Weight Loss will i ever get to 165lbs May 31 2007

Hi.  Im 18 years old and I weigh 232 lbs.  I cant remember the last time I weighed 165 lbs.  I remember being 212 lbs in the 7th grade and the highest weight I was ever at was 252 lbs in the 11th grade.  I started calorie counting about 3 weeks ago and I havent lost any weight but I've heard that as long as you stick to it, over time it will start to work.  I can try to provide as much support as possible since I'm in a situation similar to you however I agree with the other person that you are not going to lose 35 lbs by july 4.  I have done many fad diets and the one thing I am noticing about calorie counting is that it takes commitment and patience.  Rather than going on a million speedy diets and losing a couple pounds and then gaining it all back, I would rather go on one long term  diet/lifestyle change and keep the weight off forever.

I eat a lot of Lean Cuisine tv dinners.  I know that it would be better to eat food that isnt a frozen tv dinner, but I'm 18 years old and I live with my mom and since I have no money (struggling college kid, lol) my mom buys all the food.  She has to buy food that will make the rest of my family happy, which unfortunately is usually food that is bad for you, so I tell her to buy me lean cuisines and smart ones tv dinners.

I think its so ironic that for years I have been looking for "the secret" to weight loss and tried all those stupid diets that are so hard to stick with, yet I avoided the obvious solution of diet and exercise  as if it were the plague.  I like calorie counting.  I must admit that I am kind of a nerd/braniac.  I do really well in school and I tend to be very analytical and I like that I have complete control over how many calories I eat and I like that in order to succeed all you need to do is know how to add numbers.   For the first time ever, I feel like if I really stick to this I will actually get healthy for the first time in my life.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I lost the other 20 or so.  I dont play sports and I dont think I just lost the weight due to growing or something like that.  Over the years I have done a variety of fad diets (nutrisystem, atkins, south beach diet, etc...) and I have lost weight on all of them and then gained some weight back after I went off of them.  I wish I could tell you specifically what I did, but I dont know sorry  :).  I can say however that calorie counting seems to work for other people that are on this site and it seems to be the healthiest way I have heard of so far to lose weight and like you said I did already lose some weight.

Im an 18 year old girl and I weigh about 228 lbs.  My highest weight ever was 252 lbs in the eleventh grade.  I've been overweight my whole life and I started calorie counting about 2 weeks ago.  When I started calorie counting I was at 231 lbs.
Motivation No more excuses.... May 18 2007
05:12 (UTC)
Im good at making excuses, but even moreso I am guilty of planning out my diet and exercise more than I actually do it.  I'll spend hours on the internet researching healthy foods and good exercise moves but then when it comes down to actually doing the stuff I planned out, I always make an excuse.  It almost makes me lose faith in myself because I have gone through this cycle over and over again.  This time I am not planning as much I am just counting calories and trying to move around whenever I feel bored.

Even though it is easier for heavier people to lose weight than skinnier people, you have to realize that we have more to lose so it still is going to take just as long as the skinny people.  Also, its just a little bit hard to sympathize with people who complain about not being able to lose weight when they already weigh 90 or 100 lbs less than you.  Im not directing this post to anyone in particular but for the skinny people who think that this site caters to the obese, just remember that us obese people feel like the whole world caters to the skinny people.  I weigh 231 lbs and this is the first place I have found in years where I feel comfortable and safe to express my feelings as an overweight person.  Everyone has different problems and perspectives and if you feel like you are not being represented then start a forum and build up a group of friends here that are in your similar situation.  If a particular forum doesnt apply to you, then dont read or reply to it.

I have heard that if you lose the weight slow, especially if your young (im 18) then your skin will likely have time to shrink and go back to normal.  Does that also apply to breasts?  If you lose the weight slowly enough will they still be saggy?

I'm 18 years old and I weight 231 lbs.  I know it can feel like the whole world is watching you and judging you especially at our young ages.  The other posters are right though,  its not about weight in your case.  You lost weight because you werent happy and now that your skinny your still not happy.  You need to work on your self esteem.  Focus on some of the positive aspects or your life (your personality, good grades, etc...).  I know this might sound corny but I have tried it and found it to work well:  try writing down or repeating in your head your good qualities.  Tell yourself how wonderful you are.  Tell yourself that you deserve all the happiness that everyone else has.  You have already taken the steps to make your body healthier now you need to use that same focus and determination that helped you lose weight to help you gain self esteem.

At 113 lbs I highly doubt you are fat  (I weigh 231 lbs so just imagine how skinny you really are).  Also, I dont think 95 lbs is a very healthy weight.  I dont know how to motivate you to lose weight but maybe you should try working on your self esteem.
