Weight Loss Wanna Lose 5 pounds with me by Feb 14th? Feb 03 2008

i hope i'm not too late but i want in too!!!

the last 5 lbs seems to be a mental thing more than anything..and i guess its ok if i dont see the numbers go down but just get more toned by V-Day!

I was trying to zig zag but I feel like it's just letting my unmindful eating get the best of me so it's back to routine 1400 cals + working out :)

Good luck everyone!

i am SO with you. i live in nyc and my parents and friends are taking me out alllll the time..i try to be healthy and not snack but the few things i do eat now are quuuuuite indulgent haha..and going to the gym is so not as fun anymore - i'd rather burn my calories by walking all around the beautiful decorated city than sweating it up in this stuffy gym (it's smaller than the one at school - with the crappiest machines!).

portion control is key...keep those measuring cups nearby! i'm going to keep trying to make my meals half veggies or fruit..and don't forget to drink lots of water!!!!!

I came with the intention of eating a nice bowl of oatmeal when lo and behold..there was no more. So obviously a corn muffin was the next best thing Tongue out

Weight Loss Beating a dead horse... Dec 19 2007

Well for me, I can't work out every day this week bc of finals..usually I work out 5-6 days a week, pretty intensely (run for 30 minutes, elliptical for 30 minutes + weights and ab stuff).

So this week let's say, I was only able to work out yesterday and today but can't tomorrow or the day after (I can go back on friday though yay!).

Given that I'm sitting here and studying (or on CC!), can I still put down that I do moderate activity? I try walking up the stairs when I can and doing squats or lunges when I need a break.

Or should I switch the setting to light activity for now?

Weight Loss Eating healthy, but not enough Dec 18 2007
04:56 (UTC)
Yeah that sounds a bit low..do you exercise at all? If you do, you definitley should be eating more..obviously the calorie amount depends on your BMI so you should enter that in the tools function and it will tell you how much you need depending on your daily activity...I know for females you're not supposed to eat less than 1200 cals per day. What you should do is fit in some small snacks between your meals (some of my favorites are rice cakes, string cheese, yogurt, special k bars, veggies with hummus, etc...you seem to need a lot more so how about you try those luna bars? I've never tried them myself..)

Good luck!

I'm 5'6" and currently 126 lbs..I'm pretty happy where I'm at but I still seem to have a belly...i want to go down a size but when I set my goal weight at 120 it said my BMI would be underweight..I don't think I'm anywhere NEAR being underweight though...so I guess I'll aim to tone more than looking at the numbers on the scale

Weight Loss I'm not kidding - amazing way to curb hunger at night!! Dec 14 2007

Actually, I've done the same thing too (think about an amazing breakfast: waffles, french toast, muffins, the works!) when I'm craving something at night..the thought of a tasty breakfast really curbs your cravings and for me, I wake up and I'm not even that hungry so I end up not even eating that high-calorie breakfast I dreamt about the night before!

ugh today! and yesterday!

i got my period today so im (incorrectly) thinking what the hell, i have cravings (and final exams!) i deserve to indulge

so yesterday i ate a breakfast of yogurt and granola and hardboiled egg whites, and then lunch i had a sandwich, and another sandwich at dinner and LOTS OF POTATO CHIPS...i've been really healthy before, eating well and going to the gym, but once pms strikes,it's really hard with cravings, plus i dont like working out during my period - so i should be eating healthy

today i had the same breakfast without the eggs, lunch i had a sandwich, dinner i went out with friends (i didn't want to bc its so hard eating healthy out-especially at a chinese place) and had fried brown rice but i ate the whole thing and then afterwards i had such a huge craving for ice cream that i practically ate the entire pint of coffee heath bar crunch which is 1160 calories!

like the saying goes, i'll start my diet TOMORROW! haha
