Karen, I just wanted to add my 2 cents... Okay, I have been chronically constipated for a few years now. So I went to a herbalist and she gave me this advise and it worked for me, so here goes... When you first wake up in the morning drink 16oz of warm water (just like suggested above). And eat 4 stewed prunes. The way I eat the stewed prunes is, I put 4 prunes in a cup of water at night before I go to bed, then put them in the microwave for 1 min in the morning when i wake up. I sometimes add cinnamon to the water, whatever you like and let them cool and eat them all at right away. Works every time!!! It helped me to have it spelled out just how to do it and do it everyday. I hope this works for you and others. I was just so easy I wished I would have thought of it earlier.

I have one right now! I hate these things. I think it is a tension headache but mine turn into migraines. I like to take ibuprophan then I would drink tea or coffee with caffeine. I get them for three days, so what I do is take one ibuprophen every hour or so with the caffeine. It keeps the pain down.

Some of my favorite books have been: The Secret Life of Bees! Such a good book, read it twice and saw the movie. The Poisonwood Bible! another great book. Water for Elephants! Really great read. |

tciherr, First of all Great job! I see how hard it is for some many if not all people to lose weight and keep it off! But you did it. I see so many people in the gym that come in day after day and that do not lose weight let alone lose it to just gain it if not more back. So my question for you is: How are you doing it? I have 5-8 lbs to lose and I have been at it since May of 2007. Why am I not doing it? I have been really good trying to lose it this time, but need to know why I will lose it and gain it right back. What is your secret? I want to lose the weight by June 26, 2009. Thanks! |

I love taco bell for eating out... I eat off of the Fresco menu. Low in calories and fat. Try it. Chicken Fiesta Buritto Fresco style, 330 calories. Also, any place you eat you can ask for what you want. Like if you eat at In and Out Burger, order the protein style burger! It is a hamburger served wrapped in a big lettuce leaf and is so yummy, only 240 calories. So here is what you do, go to Google search and type in calories in (name of restraunt) and then you can choose what to eat at the restaurant before you go, I do that all the time and then I dont eat too many calories when I am out! Hope this helps. |

How about having someone meet you there? Or find a class you want to take early... The only thing that gets me there early is I have to take my daughter to school early and then I go right to the gym. That is what works for me. Treat yourself to a tea or something nice after??? |

I am so glad you posted this! I too get menstrual migraines, for some time now. I have been going to my Ob/gyn too to see if I can get some relief. She did tell me that if i get an Aura with my migraine, that I should probably only take the birth control pill that has Progrestrone only in it because the other ones can cause stroke in people that get the Aura. Anyway, I am the one with the aura. I just don't want to take the pill because I don't want any side effects. Oh, she also said it could cause weight gain too, yikes, what do we do??? I am also seeing a acupuncturist for tension migraine too, cause that is one of the many triggers that I have. I am looking forward to reading all the posts so maybe we all can get some help from your post, Thanks again.

I am 5'4" and was at 129 when I first started Calorie Count. I lost about 5 pounds and have kept it off pretty well. I to want to get to 120, that is my goal. I struggle with it all the time. I just like sweets.... I just bought a Vita mix Blender and am hoping this helps me get really healthy and lost the last four lbs and keep them off. I say 120 is not a bad goal weight and it would sure make me feel better. You go for it. |

That should not be a problem. First of all the ketchup, brown sugar and mustard are probably just a sauce/glaze right? So that will not have that many calories to even sneeze at. Second of all I would go to my food log and look up each item and record them separately, like brown sugar (I looked it up) has 11 calories in 1 tsp. and you are not the only one eating it so that cuts that even more. All in all that sounds like a really healthy dinner, maybe throw in a green salad to take up some more space in your stomach to fill you up and you would end up not eating that many calories.

crd084, I want to add my 2 cents too.... I was so afraid to take meds for my anxiety because I have medical anxiety... It just means that I fear everything that has to do with medical decisions. Hope that makes sense. So it took me so long to take the medicine. But what I did was I took the pill and cut it into four pieces and then I took one little tiny piece for one week. I didn't notice anything so I said to myself, okay take one more tiny piece and add it to the first tiny piece and then now I was taking a half of the pill. I did that for one more week and didn't notice any side effects at all. So again did the same thing on and on till I was taking a full pill, never even had a side effect one and have been on the meds for 10 years now. I tell you, you never notice the anxiety getting better but you do notice it is not there anymore.... YEAH!!! I hope this helps. I take lexapro, no noticeable weight gain for me, just being lazy weight gain and eating too many sweets. Joan |

santyhohoho, How the heck did you even get your GP to diagnose you? Did he do any tests? I a curious because I think I have it and I just know if I go to my doc he will just say something like "you don't have all the symptoms, so you probably don't have it". he does that often. So since I think I have it I do the process of elimination thing like everyone else does and don't eat those foods or in moderation only. I also have lactose intolerance.
As far as how many calories you need to eat that will depend on how much you weigh, how tall you are and how old you are. This website you are on has a calculator you can use to tell you how to do it. I think you go to tools and that will take you where you need to go.

I am lactose intolerant too!!! I use rice milk for smoothies, soy milk too. Frozen yogurt for ice cream substitute. I try to stay away from cheese too, but you could use goats milk cheese for things, that should digest well. Hard cheese bothers me all kinds, I am severly lactose intolerant. Yogurt with all kinds of cereals. I can not digest sour cream and cream cheese either, so I stay away from that too.

I am using Benefiber, it is really great. It comes in a Green bottle, powder form. you can buy it at the grocery store or walmart. No taste at all, not thick, just like water. I only use it when I get constipated for a few days then I back off. I also like to take magnesium, I think I read somewhere that it helps, but it seems to work for me. |

omg, these are all really great ideas, thanks. I really liked the idea of Sandals resort and the Dun's River Falls (yes, I think the kids will like this), I would like to go into the market place (we will see about that) and the doing the "touristy" areas is a good idea too. Okay, still open for suggestions. You guys are great!!! |

Thanks sugiemans, I am just not sure if I want to do the resort thing yet. One, because I am just not sure what we will do there? What is there to do at the resort? One thing we do want to do when we get into port is snorkeling. Thanks for the reply. Anymore suggestions?

Haley 2008, I am afraid to fly too. The one thing that helped me get on the plane is relaxation exercises. You can probably google them and then to keep me on the flight I would take the Ativan. Take the Ativan an hour before you go though, I just took one the other day before the dentist and I think it would have been better for me to take an hour before so it was really working by the time you get on the flight.

Well the doctor always told me to give my kids the B.R.A.T. diet when they had an upset tummy. Bananas Rice Applesauce or toast. Hope this helps you. |

Well first of all how exciting for you!!! I would just tell them, they will be more disappointed if you wait to tell them. I had this one friend that did not want to ask me to be in her wedding because she thought I could not afford it and that hurt my feelings so bad that she would think something like that. I may have not had a lot of money but I would had never passed up being in her wedding. Just a short story of how we think to much into it and forget the really important thing and that is you are pregnant and that is so exciting for your whole family. |
